I once heard two of my friends arguing over whether vanilla or chocolate is better. One of them even googled search a chocolate cake recipe that had vanilla in it and posted on our Discord. Then there was the time my teammates overheard me talking to my mom in spanish. The only words they caught on were chorizo and tortilla. I’ve also heard plenty of dogs barking, and someone rage quit. This was all while playing Splatoon 2. Haven’t had time to play Splatoon 3 with them, also one of my teammates is now learning Spanish.
And here I played Splatoon to get away from people raging on voice chat😂
On the chocolate vs vanilla debacle you choose half and half
Oh man Planetside, I remember being in a huge NC outfit in the first one and being in a channel with my squad as we were all being flown via dropship to a battle. One of my squadmates is absolutely HAMMERED. He was either a bit of a lightweight or drinking some strong stuff, because he went from kinda drunk to mumbling incoherently pretty fast. On our flight to battle, he suddenly makes a weird belching and heaving sound, followed by PROFUSE vomiting. We could hear it all in more detail than we ever wanted as he hurled all over his floor. The splashing, the gagging, chunks of... something impacting the hard floor. It was so bad ANOTHER player vomited, followed by a second, just from the sounds alone. After the triple puke party, there was this piercing silence, which I broke by saying "...Don't worry folks he's just nervous about the mission!" like a total dork.
I remember playing Titanfall and hearing this couple on the other side. The guy was playing, the girl was watching and was giving him tons of flirtatious praise about how well he was doing. When he did get killed she would berate the screen about hackers and lag with the fake confidence of someone who has only heard the words before. Finally someone else on the team had enough and yelled into his mic "That's enough! Your dude is just shooting bots and has a smart pistol so he doesn't even have to aim. He sucks and all of the real players are kicking his a*s." The girl took the mic, asked the other guy what some of those terms meant then started beating the boyfriend up. We just heard her berating him about lying followed by a not so tough OWW from the boyfriend then a sudden log out.
While playing DbD, i was in a game chat( a rarity as i hate the distraction of other people while playing that game) and my cat MiMow (she is a tiny cat) came, jumped up on my bed and meowed her classic 'mother, I desire attention' meows and the 3 teenagers in that chat made audible 'awws' and cooing at her. Not weird but these kids who were gen rush happy and so focused on the game broke concentration (and i think we lost) because of my tiny girl.
I’ve never been a huge fan of playing online, but back in the heyday of online Halo I would play sometimes. One night I had played a couple games with some random guys who were all speaking French, so I decided to chime in with the only French phrase I knew: “Qui a coupe le fromage?” (Who cut the cheese?)
There was a moment of silence, then uproarious laughter. It was honestly a pretty proud moment. I learned the phrase from Freakazoid in the 90s.

This happens quite often with my D&D group. We play via virtual tabletop (started during the pandemic, now continue because of the convenience) and we use video chat to interact. Now, we play multiple games, switching DMs between story arcs so everyone gets a chance to be on the players' side of the table. For the campaign I'm running, one of the players opted not to play, but he still hangs out with us and is on the video chat all the same, sometimes listening, sometimes chiming in, and sometimes just off doing other things. He usually mutes his mic if he's not participating in conversation, but one time he forgot, and in the middle of combat, completely out of nowhere, we suddenly hear him singing "mystery screws..." Game was put on pause for a good ten minutes while everyone just laughed at the randomness.
The craziest thing I've ever heard over a mic was (sadly, unlike many of these ones,) absolutely not a laughing matter. But I was playing years ago with a bunch of people, most of whom all knew each other somewhat well enough due to playing together regularly. There was suddenly a LOT of voice - shouting and banging on a door - over a player's mic. And that chaos only grew worse quickly, until the guy, -, leaving his sound on all the while leaves to look into it. Turns out -and we heard the whole terrifying conversation clearly as it was super loud by now - that the banging was a neighbor of the player, yelling for his attention, to let him know the guy's entire deck was on fire and that he had called the fire department for him! The player was thankfully fine. We heard from him a few days later.
Heard a guy accidently come out of the closet during a raid on WoW. We had some down time after a near wipe when guys bf apparently came in and was frisky. Started doing things to his bf that made him miss the mute key when he tried pressing it and then later moaned a name, a guys name. And we all started moaning it too and he realised he wasnt muted and "introduced" us to his bf. This was back in the day before druids could even fly.
And Mr Facts guy.... *everyone* gets ribbed in games. If women didn't get ribbed like everyone else that would be special treatment. The ones that can give back as good as they get are the ones that get accepted. Same with everyone else. (I'm just talking about Facts comment, not the poster he was responding to, when dude couldn't take it back and started in with the SA threats, we all know that type of gamer, and can't stand them.)

I use to have a group of friends I would play League of Legends with back in like 2014. I joined into their call right as they had just started a match and so did another person in the group. They then had to listen to of the two of us (who had turned on our Skype cameras at this time) stack as many hats as we could on our heads while we waited for them to finish. I’m sure they were super confused but I sure enjoyed the hat stacking fun

probably a year ago now, i was hanging out with my best friend. this was back when we were both running peak degenerate hours and would sometimes stay up together until 8am. we were in between games just chatting, and i passed out. of course it was almost 5 in the morning by that point, but it kinda just happened. my best friend was a good sport about it though, and stuck with me until i woke up 45 minutes later. we still joke about that time and how i'll never live it down. (though it is trumped by the time he said something to the effect of "step daddy long legs" by accident, and now that quote is immortalized forever and he's never living it down. Best one I heard was this squeaker in GTAO who was getting under a whole lobby's skin (justified) so the exchange went like this, it was by ar the funniest one I've heard/been a part of, in a GTAO lobby back in PS3 days. Squeaker was getting trolled or boasting he could o the hardest missions and couldn't get past the first initial part of it. He'd been told to chill and keep playing, but he was getting more and more angry.
Which led to this:
Squeaker: Shut up I banged your mom last night
Player 1: You did?
Player 2: Man I'd be disappointed
Me: Plastic Pamela does not count, y'know
Player 1: Dude, low blow
Player 2: Stop punching down
Me: How else am I going to get my roasts in. Everything else just goes over his head

No joke I was once in a open lobby for Left 4 Dead 2 and there were WEIRD ASS NOISES the whole time I was in there like…it didn’t sound like your usual couple fucking, but it gave me the impression that that’s what it was. Like was it a sound prank????
Idk if this counts, but during a night of D&D with my friend group (we use Roll20 but use Discord voice chat), we were in a very tense scene (I don't remember all the details, sadly). We were pretty deep in it for a while before we heard a player's s/o in the background, who was playing Stardew Valley, go: "A "B" rating?? What do you mean a *"B"* rating??" Cue everyone laughing for a good 3 or so minutes. The s/o apologized, not expecting to have been heard over the mic but we all said it was ok and that it was actually great comedic relief. 🤣🤣
If I was in a online multiplayer shooting game as a sniper I'd yell "YO TARGET, HEADS UP!" just before head shooting them just to mess with the bastard.
Destiny1, during raid or Crucible prep, some idiot went to the bathroom and forgot to mute their mic. Heard the whole thing before someone else asks "What the fuck am I hearing?" The one who left their mic on promptly realizes everyone in the party chat heard them and suddenly begins apologizing while we all poked fun at such a rookie blunder.

Warframe, during The Silent Grove update, I was in extraction for the long run as I needed cryotic. A polish player had a mic on and blasted electronic beats while moaning or cursing "kurwa". Now it is weird in Warframe to use the in-game mic system as is, but weirder was that this guy was playing as Saryn, standing still and sometimes using 1st and 4th ability (back when Saryn was not good).
5 days late. But for posterity..I was playing Hell Let Loose a WW2 combined arms shooter with while not complete, some decent emphasis on realism. I was on the US side on purple heart lane I believe. Following my squad leader. Now this game has proximity chat and squad chat. And while in Proximity chat I heard my squad leader talk on the phone...he was talking about receiving nudes with his friend and said something about showing them off to him... hearing this I shook my head because there were two others following this man who could hear him, tried so hard not to yell in chat that he shouldn't talk about his sister that way.

This one was my moment. I was playing WOW WOTLK with my guild. We weren't raiding at the time, but a few of us were just chatting while we completed various quests and dungeons. I was doing one dungeon area where there were a bunch of frogs around that you could hit with a magic stick/wand to make them turn back into people. I had just discovered that mechanic and was pretty giddy about it and thought it was funny, so I just burst out "I'm making people!". Everyone else started laughing and making jokes about TMI and all that. I miss that guild and my WOW days
Me, 12, was playing a very unknown game called helldivers, I met 2 fathers playing with me. During the game I could hear the children just like talking to their fathers. It was werid, like their setups too!
Okay I have one. So playing MW2. On Discord with randoms. Playing away when one of the guys gets a call. His mic is pretty sensitive and LOUD!. Anyway the convo sounds innocent enough with ' yeah hi, I've been trying to get through to my brother his not picking up his phone and I've left multiple text. I know his avoiding me and he has my money and I don't have a house. He was meant to have started the house months ago.' So the other 3 of us trapped in the quad group have gone silent, we pretty much have givin up playing and just listening to this convo. His voice started to get very loud and aggressive with whoever he was talking to. "No!No! Weeks now, weeks! No answer or being told his out. His taken my money, and I have nothing to show for it. I was meant to be moving in my family in a month it is so over due. We had already canceled our lease and now I have to move in with our mother. How the hell can he do this to his brother and his niece's and nephews?! ......a response. " don't fu+#$ tell me he isn't there I've driven past the business twice when you've told me he wasn't there. I could see his car inside the compound at your office. So don't tell me his not there because the fact he would do this to his own blood, floors me.' We had all died by this time and we still weren't saying anything. We returned to the main menu where the conversation proceeded. Then obviously the guy must have seen he was still online, pulled the plug dropped from the group and the game. The 3 of us left in the group chat were just all at once as if we were all holding our breaths let out ' Holy Shit'.
I think maybe 1 of the randoms in Valorant would make a subreddit of them hearing my dad tell into my mic: Kick his butt Matthew.....

I was chilling in a custom game where we were all just talking, this one woman in the chat who I had met that day was talking about how her husband has been gone for 10 days, completely awol(bad especially because he was in the army), she had called the police already, and then right in the middle of this convo, her husband texted her that he wanted a divorce and was in Vegas(they lived in Louisiana). Cue crying and us comforting her, she and I became best friends which turned into her grooming me(she was 19 and I was 14) and me being in a mentally and emotionally abusive relationship with her. Her husband was definitely more abusive than her, but I doubt she was innocent. There’s some more bullsh’t to the story, but I’m already off topic

Ok so I'm a couple days late to this video but... I have my own accomplishments unlocked gamer story lol. So it was 2005 and my kid got a PS2 for Xmas I bought the Hot Wheels game so I start playing it and I'm kicking butt getting first place in all the races and redoing them if I don't. I'm on the very last race where I finally get to see the last car and since I've gotten first the whole thing through I'm getting bonus cars! I'm excited and see the finish line and the game freezes. Rebooted the game spent another month to do it over and it freezes in the exact same spot. I died inside that day and have never played a video game since. :(
Okay so I was playing a game on roblox called plane crazy. I was in a PVP server testing a new mech build. A jet builder gets cocky and attacks me laughing the whole time. He didn’t realize I had a mic so I heard his plans and his insults. He was coming at me again with a buddy this time so I leap into the air and get both with my mech’s swords. I then sarcastically repeated one of his insults “chunky can’t gut us up here” he left the server immediately.
Not on mic and not my reaction. My ex heard me talking to guild mates in WOW, agreeing to meet with them on the roof of the bank in pre-Cataclysm Orgrimmar. It took me about half an hour, including relogging into the game and showing him the layout of the city, to convince him that I was not about to go out into a howling thunderstorm IRL and commit multiple felonies for realsies.

I always told guys who pulled the "make me a sandwich" crap to make all of us a sandwich, because the girl is obviously manlier than him. It's funnier when like 3 guys and the gal jeep doing it.
I've gotten a death threat from my then GF in her sleep while in open mic, and she also once went full mama mode on some little crap on Halo Reach.
I love that girl, but she bever was good at Halo though. I once witnessed what was basically that Battlefield Friends episode where the 2 noobs fight, run out of ammo, and then knife fight while both teams watch. Still better than me at fighting games.
Oh, and on Sea of Thieves there was a kid that was so polite that when his daddy told him it was time to go to sleep we all asked to tell his dad how well he was raising his kid.

A couple years ago during quarantine I was in a party with three of my good friends. We were around 16 at the time and we’re sitting there playing either GTA or Minecraft don’t remember the exact game. But out of nowhere all I hear from one of my boys mics is his mom saying come give me back scratches before bed. Sure is shit dude gets up and leaves for around 10 to 15 minutes when he comes back me and my other two friends we’re not living that one down.
believe it or not despite the fact that over 95% of its community is male arma 3 doesn't have really any issues with sexism, yes there is not a single decent mod that adds women to the game despite it having one of the largest modding communities on steam and being over a decade old, the second in command of one of my old units was a woman, I never heard a single insult about that, she was a veteran of arma 3, like even now I probably would get my ass handed to me in a 1v1 with her and I definitely would have back then, I might get in touch with her, I am no longer in that unit and haven't been in a few years, also she was in her mid 20s or so and I am 19 now, back then I was like 16 or 17.
One time I was on Overwatch, and I thought I had all voice chat features turned off. And I just hear from the screen a voice that sounded like a little boy go "Hello? Hello?" Scared the shit out of me. Not that weird, but I don't have a lot of voice conversations on games.
I would play in a Mainly Facts Minecraft or Don’t Starve Together server.
Once was playing around of team fortress 2 and having to get into a conversation with this guy who sounded exactly like junkrat from OverWatch

Gotta say the strangest thing was someone talking about their p***hub account while playing counterstrike.
Not a whole lot of interest, honestly. One guy while running a random dungeon together in Neverwinter was listening to talk radio, and a few months before, same game, different dungeon, two guys on mic started arguing with each other about said dungeon. I, via the game's built in text chat because I don't have a mic myself, told them to shut up. One of them started laughing. Another time in between the two, same game, different dungeon still, was a girl talking about the mechanics of said dungeon. More recently, however, same game still, yet another different dungeon, a guy was talking to his girlfriend or wife or maybe his daughter, I don't know who she was to him, and after saying what he had to say told her he loves her. No, I did not get a whole lot of what she was saying, only a female voice of indeterminate age saying things, but I assume she said she loves him, too.
I saw this on TH-cam shorts and this kid is getting yelled at by his mom and then she said “I will beat you” and he yelled back “OI F OFF” obv the other word
If Woman wants to play game, then Woman can play game, it is as simple as that.

About the cast iron comments, even if the seasoning does get stripped off, it's not that hard to reapply. All the season is is a coating of cooking oil that's baked into the metal. I personally like peanut oil baked in at 350F for an hour. Now a really damaging thing to do in a cast iron pan is cooking off something acidic like tomatoes or citrus fruits as that will cause pitting on the cast iron and will need to be buffed out with an angle grinder.
"I am going to come over to your house and wash your cast iron pans with soap and water!" That is such as stupid threat I couldn't not laugh at it. Of all the things you threaten after breaking and entering. At least put a lego brick in their shoes.
