Heavens to Murgatroid ! I've watched 3 episodes of Amy's new series on TruTV & have greatly enjoyed it ! Amy and her team are amazing and awesome ! I'm willing to watch her in ANYTHING ! A lovely lady with a lot of talent ! :-)
LOVED STRANGERS WITH CANDY
It's not that those shows in the 60s and 70s were "boring." They were really popular. People really liked them. The difference is that the idea of what is considered interesting and entertaining has narrowed. Now, everything has to have music in the background, lots of glitz and special effects and bright colors, sometimes completely overshadowing content. You first saw signs of that in the 80s. Then, it became normal in the 90s, and it still is. Before the 80s, we were satisfied with content and, as Amy says here, "earnestness." I think we would have been annoyed by all the flashiness that's considered necessary now.
I actually love the show
Amy is magnificent and so is her series! I am a little concerned about the guy who watched ‘Strangers With Candy’ as an after-school habit 😳. I believe his parents may have failed him.

So annoyed we can't get this show in the UK. It's strange that her brother is much better known over here. I've loved Amy for years. So fantastic.
i think authors have a more difficult time spinning their career into a more traditional celebrity situation in the states. david is amusing, but you have bear with him for a while because he's pretty low energy. amy is a bit more manic and a better fit for visual mediums.

That was a weird show.
I love me some Amy Sedaris, but I've given this show a chance for 2 weeks now and it is painful to watch. I think she is way better then this, in fact she's brilliantly funny.....just not in this show. Just check out all of her performances on David letterman, where does she come up with all of the stuff so quickly?

I think the show has sped up a little since then because I caught it weeks ago and became an instant fan. It was always funny, but it was awkward and slow before. Now the awkwardness is part of the fun.
