I'm a fan of SB19 and a fan of Bini too. But I noticed with these 2 fan bases based on comments on TH-cam and Facebook that most SB19 fans don't respect Bini and think SB19 is always better. They are both great in their own ways, but having that SB19 fans' attitude shows who has a better fan base of these 2 groups.

I completely agree that producing a banger hit pop song it way harder than doing an artistic one. Probably because more pop songs are produced hence a stiffer competition and they cater to a larger demographic than artistic ones which have a limited audience. Basically it's hard to produce a hit whether it's an artsy one all the more if it's a pop song.
Totally agree with your opinions about the infighting within PPop not helping anyone (even SB-19/BINI). And yes, inggit or envy seems to be the root of this (nailed it with the "being mad at your rich friends" analogy). Though I do think that it could also be political for a few that hate ABS-CBN. I just wish they don't take it out on the poor girls who did nothing wrong and also had to overcome hardships (yes, some of them were also poor but thankfully not anymore). If you think about it, BINI is the best group to represent PPop on the global stage right now. And this isn't saying that they're the best group out there. They just ARE the most willing and able group to raise PPop. And by willingness, I mean, making an effort to tick the boxes to make their music appealing to the global market (English language, pop genre, good for short-form content, viral choreography, etc.). But that isn't to say that their music is a sell out either because they aren't compromising on what makes our music very Pinoy, which is its lyricism (it has to make sense) and its vocals (it should have challenging singing parts). They also obviously have the most resources to market and produce world class quality products (music, MV, concert, styling, light stick, etc.). In addition to that, they are also very eager to share/reflect their spotlight to other artists or groups. They've been very vocal about wanting their audience to be curious about OPM in their interviews (eg. KIIS FM) and their acceptance speeches (eg. MTV EMA). They constantly name drop OPM artists as their inspirations and favorites during their interviews. And it's not just lip service for these girls. They are also generous with their TIME in attending other artists' concerts, gigs, launch events, etc. and talent (four of them have also appeared on MVs of other artists). One might even think that Alamat (despite being managed by a different label) is their brother group instead of BGYO). And this isn't any dig towards SB19 either because they are also an important element in the PPop rise movement. It's just that their music (at least the most recent releases) aren't really POP (Which categories were they nominated at the WMA?). If you think about it, SB19 has the most to gain if BINI succeeds because if BINI's audience looks into PPop, they will naturally discover the masterpieces that the Mahalima have created. Anyway, I really hope that the fandoms get their acts together so that everyone wins. PS. It's not too late to make a song with BTS or Army on its title.. Haha.

As a longtime enjoyer of K-Pop, I am very happy that finally there are groups like SB19 and Bini taking the mantle for P-Pop. I love the music of both groups and it's just sad to see what the toxic fans have been doing. Just because another group in Bini reached higher heights, especially locally with the general public, it doesn't mean SB19's music have become bad (surprise, surprise...they're very good!). Maybe it's just showing a symptom of a more chronic societal problem in the PH (i.e. crab mentality). SB19 figuratively "paved the way" for P-Pop, and logically there will be another group or groups that will build on whatever path is already there. The hope is whoever they are (in this case, Bini) will raise the bar higher, and in the future there will be other artists to raise it even more. This is literally the story of K-Pop and how it progressed from one generation to the next.

Honestly, it depends on how BINI penetrates the international scene and how their management promotes them internationally. Based on what I see, their management is still a rookie when it comes to international promotions. BINI needs a real marketing team-not some old-generation people who don't understand how social media works. This is a moment of truth for how the international audience will react to Blink Twice. If the song fails internationally, it will surely fail locally as well. Unlike Cherry on Top, which was released during the height of their peak with the popularity of Pantropiko and Salamin Salamin, Cherry on Top had high streams and views because of the expectations set by their previous songs. This is different from Blink Twice, which was released solo without any other songs peaking in the market. The management needs to double or triple their efforts to promote the song both locally and internationally. However, as I see it, they are not putting in the effort. At least we know that ABS-CBN is open to collaborating with others outside their stable to promote their music and stage their World Tour. From the feedback of a supplier of their light stick (who also manufactures for KPop groups), the team behind them seem to sincerely want the success of the group (and it shows). Regardless of how their music fares internationally, at least the girls will still have work locally. What is important is they maintain or exceed the level of quality of their live performances. Also, you don't seem to follow them on socmed because afaik they are constantly releasing content on their official accounts. Even their brand partners are releasing Behind the Scenes of the work they did for them. What they lack though is the provision for English subtitles for the international audience (but the fans are quick to create their own fan-subbed content). The big difference between then (COT) and now (Blink Twice) is that they have a loyal following from those who have made an effort to know the girls individually so the support they have goes beyond their music. Imagine if they have their docuseries aired on Netflix... that's the best marketing push they could ever do for the girls. If that docuseries creates the same impact as Katseye's did on them, BINI will essentially be debuting Born To Win, Here With You and whatever song they'll use for the third... Blink Twice, perhaps? (and all songs featured on the docu which is practically their entire discography) to the world.
Yeah both groups have their own strength. There's really no sense fighting over who's best. Because both groups play at their own strength hence that's why they are great at it. Why not just enjoy and appreciate both groups who's busting their asses in creating good music and making Ppop and Opm generally recognize not just here but all over the world.

The thing about BINI and their machinery is it actually came at a time when ABS-CBN was shut down and franchise revoked by the D30 administration for the news and broadcast. As a media company they were crippled to being just a YT channel and disseminating content that way and through iWantTFC. Director Laurenti M Dyogi, who was in charge of creating the girl group was faced with shutting the whole thing down and gambled on the 8 girls. They had no TV station, radio network, or regular noon time shows on local or cable TV. They had to get through adversity and make the songs and BINI a hit. We connect to Bini as a beacon to something better. Fighting through the corruption and long trained mess we have in the Philippines.

Well, you just have to get used to those U'tens. It's in nature to get toxic and to always brag about the greatness of their idols. Just because an artist uses simple and direct to the point lyrics in their song to convey their thoughts, makes them inferior and lesser as compared to those who uses poetry. Perfect example of this is Francis Magalona vs. Gloc-9. Francis M usually writes his song in plain/simple words making it easy for the casual listener to understand the idea behind. On the other hand, Gloc-9 expresses his ideas more in poetic form and it takes some form of decoding to dig what he is tryibg to convey. And yet, both men are great artists.

Unlike Cherry on Top, which was released during the height of their peak with the popularity of Pantropiko and Salamin Salamin, Cherry on Top had high streams and views because of the expectations set by their previous songs. This is different from Blink Twice, which was released solo without any other songs peaking in the market.
The management needs to double or triple their efforts to promote the song both locally and internationally. However, as I see it, they are not putting in the effort. They just release something and then disappear after a few minutes-bad marketing. Good luck to BINI!
@@Stygwarz But aren't ALL PH-based labels rookies, though? They all have to start somewhere. At least we know that ABS-CBN is open to collaborating with others outside their stable to promote their music and stage their World Tour. From the feedback of a supplier of their light stick (who also manufactures for KPop groups), the team behind them seem to sincerely want the success of the group (and it shows). Regardless of how their music fares internationally, at least the girls will still have work locally. What is important is they maintain or exceed the level of quality of their live performances.
Also, you don't seem to follow them on socmed because afaik they are constantly releasing content on their official accounts. Even their brand partners are releasing Behind the Scenes of the work they did for them. What they lack though is the provision for English subtitles for the international audience (but the fans are quick to create their own fan-subbed content).
The big difference between then (COT) and now (Blink Twice) is that they have a loyal following from those who have made an effort to know the girls individually so the support they have goes beyond their music.
Imagine if they have their docuseries aired on Netflix... that's the best marketing push they could ever do for the girls. If that docuseries creates the same impact as Katseye's did on them, BINI will essentially be debuting Born To Win, Here With You and whatever song they'll use for the third... Blink Twice, perhaps? (and all songs featured on the docu which is practically their entire discography) to the world.
Yeah both groups have their own strength. There's really no sense fighting over who's best. Because both groups play at their own strength hence that's why they are great at it. Why not just enjoy and appreciate both groups who's busting their asses in creating good music and making Ppop and Opm generally recognize not just here but all over the world.

The thing about BINI and their machinery is it actually came at a time when ABS-CBN was shut down and franchise revoked by the D30 administration for the news and broadcast.
As a media company they were crippled to being just a YT channel and disseminating content that way and through iWantTFC.
Director Laurenti M Dyogi, who was in charge of creating the girl group was faced with shutting the whole thing down and gambled on the 8 girls. They had no TV station, radio network, or regular noon time shows on local or cable TV.
They had to get through adversity and make the songs and BINI a hit. We connect to Bini as a beacon to something better. Fighting through the corruption and long trained mess we have in the Philippines.
Finally, i heard SEO. And yes, that may have been in consideration. And that's an intelligently clever move 😊

All the criticism should go to BIG companies who launches half baked groups, us Filipino audiences should have a certain standard for groups that can get launch and right now it's BINI cause if you support groups that are not on that level yet just for the sake of PPOP RISE you are actually doing a disservice to the movement. Well, you just have to get used to those U'tens. It's in nature to get toxic and to always brag about the greatness of their idols. Just because an artist uses simple and direct to the point lyrics in their song to convey their thoughts, makes them inferior and lesser as compared to those who uses poetry. Perfect example of this is Francis Magalona vs. Gloc-9. Francis M usually writes his song in plain/simple words making it easy for the casual listener to understand the idea behind. On the other hand, Gloc-9 expresses his ideas more in poetic form and it takes some form of decoding to dig what he is tryibg to convey. And yet, both men are great artists.
