John unboxes and takes a closer look at the brand spanking new Japanese Famicom Classic Mini console. He also makes a comparison it to the original 1983 Famicom!

Great video! Seems like a portable console. Hook up a 7" monitor and this to a power bank and good to go :) Or a monitor as you said.

Yeah, I didn't think of that! You could probably use a power bank battery (like the ones people use to play Pokémon Go longer) to power this!

Great stuff! I just ordered mine straight from Japan. In fact, I got the dual-pack containing the Super Famicom mini and the Famicom mini. Got ‘em both for $219 with FREE shipping.

People need to know the original red/white Famicom is TINY. The unit is barely bigger than my hand. So, the Mini-Famicom must be insanely mini. Honestly, you should skip it. Easier to buy a RaspberryPi and install RecallBox and a GRIP of games from all regions.

You could probably draw power for the Famicom Mini from a USB port on your laptop, but to play on your laptop display you'd need a hdmi-in or capture card, although capture cards may add input lag.
