- This is Big Test of two cameras for advance beginners - Canon 70d vs Sony A6000. So you can see video quality, colors, and low light performance. You can also see color correction on both cameras.
For me is hard to tell who is a winner.
I can say that video quality, and low light ability is better in sony but colors like skin tones and easer color grading is much better in canon.
Sony has also 50 FPS full hd vs canon 50 FPS only in 720p.
Sony don't have mic input, Canon have that.
I think better lens selection is in Canon, and also is more to bay used lenses than sony.
You can use adapters for sony camera that can be use canon lenses but I have some problems with tamron or sigma lenses. Autofocus is poor with adapted lenses and also is a cost to but adpater.
funny when people fuck up colors they call it "color correction" :D

It's really tough to tell, but for me, the Canon looks more pleasing. Sony is sharper but the mood is like a horror movie.
Yes I agree. Canon has better colors and I think that is more importent than sharpness, but sony has 50p so you can slow down your footage and it's great. Canon 80d has 50p so maybe next canon 800d will has it.

Both r same(nearly) but a6000 gives fast focus... I like a6000 well ...also I checked(comparison) with many equalent cameras...a6000 iz an ultimate camera within cheap n best...😍
The cannon beat the sony in every single test accept for the low light close up. More noise with the cannon on that one. Good video.
for me colors are great for canon and lens selection so for me canno is also better but low light and also video quality resolution is better in sony. Canon looks little bit soft and also don't heve 60p for slow motion so it's hard to say but neweer version of canon like canon 80d or 800d have 60 p so it's ok and also better resolution so now unlees you must use 4k I think cannos are simple better but older version for video it's hard to say. It depends of what you want do.
Thanks a lot. very good job . I was searching this comparison when I take a decision (very Low budget and. I have some canon lens and speedlight also)to buy a canon 70D. Actually canon 70D is old technology ..but whether sealing and 900 shots in a single battery is very impressive....and my main aim is photos. So canon is ok for me.. thanks again .
I think canon looks much sharper and brings out more natural and dynamic color range.

still, the video quality and color is better 70d
PsyLost Minders video quality is better on Sony but Color space are better in canons camera. Canon has more vibrance Color and nicer skin tone

nygma i think it's only canon choose to not add all video futures because they want You but their c100 or 1dx m2 witch are a lot of expensive. But mayby they change their mind because other cameras have. But i think that canon Colors arę amazong vs Sony. In Sony You must more work on color correction. Canon Has amazong skin Colors and very well seperate greens and reds in skin so it's a lot of easyier to color grade or correction in Sony in faces sometimes arę red green Colors and You must work harder.

I shoot raw and log video but sony is a lot more better and flexible when editing than canon. Canon is basically a point and shoot so its good for people who doesn't know about editing. Canon is just too terrible in low light in my taste thats why i even prefer fujifilm more than canon.

Color profile in sony i change because of skin tones. I like skin tones in light profiles, especially in low light. In good light can be standard. Color profiles in canon is technicolor so it's also not standard so why it isn't fair.
This is a good video but is it necessary to break into peoples house and film them sleeping

a6000 is better?
I like much more canon color so even cheap canon 650d I prefer sometimes that sony a6000, but sony is very small camera and has 50p so you can make saxy slow motion. But for most shoots canon has nicer colors in skin tones. Really if you want nice colorfull shoot take canon. In sony it's better shoot with less saturation.
It's very hard to compare. When compared with the budget Sony A6000 is better
i really don't get the hype over the sony a6000... the canon has more punchy colors and gives you a more "cinematic" feel...its like taking a screenshot from a late 70s film sometimes... colors from sony are dull and lifeless.. great video btw, very informative.
If you want control over your colors, what looks best straight from camera (ungraded) is not really relevant. All you need is a flat image with as much dynamic range and color information as possible, and then you create the «punchy colors» and «cinematic feel» when color grading on your computer.

Thank you, Sony is really nice camera like i said picture profile autumn is very good and if it's good white balance has very nice skin colors (no reds color), now I bought canon 650d also so I can test it but It no much difference between canon 70d. I think now every camer have weekens. SOny about colors, canon about resolution and dynamic range, lumix is great but small sensor, and nikon is also very nice about color and resolution but it's harder to recording video. So every camera has features.

70d wins only in colour saturation, which apparently is adjustable on 6000. But Sony wins all else, low light, video sharpness, handheld video stability and focus speed/quality
But don't shoot fast shifting objects like child playing with autofocus. You will always end up with a poor film.
And how to shoot fast moving objects then? Need your help:)?

which one is good for makeup videos and pictures? will mostly be doing a beauty blog videos on youtube and instagram and before/after pics of clients. i have the a6000 now but since i cant flip the screen out it is almost a deal breaker. and the quality is sharp but the colors are too warm tone and not to flattering sking wise,.. been thinking of trading in for the 70d but sony has 24 megapixels and the canon has like 19 or 20 i think... i cant decide..

sidneyyclaire Sony a6000. This video was not shot correctly for the a6000, because this video was trying to make canon look better. I have both canon and Sony and I prefer the Sony a6000

77d vs A6300 to tesz bys canon polecil? Sel35mmf 1.8?
I think canon 77d is overrated and i just pick 800d or even canon 200d (sl2). colors are better in canons but in a6300 you got crisper image and 120 fps, but i think more importent are colors because even in you tube you have compresion and don't see much quality difference in HD in this two cameras

Canon is more sharper. That's why they do the slide-dancing effect on the rods and the roof.
canon isnt' sharper but have moire.
But moiré is also certain good sharpness of the raster. With a 1: 1 ratio, everything is all right.

czesc ;) dużo zabawy jest z korekcja kolorów z surowego klipu? mam na mysli korekcje do poziomu tego jaki widzimy wlasnym oczami , bo zamierzam kupic a6000 , programy do obróbki wideo maja spore wymagania mam troche stary sprzęt
zależy jaki profil kolorów ustawisz w sonym ostatnio próbowałem autumn na -3 -1 - 3, i dość ładnie wychodzi wystarczy tylko później trochę kontrast podnieść i jest pięknie. nie trzeba się bawić w jakieś luty itp.

To co jest lepsze w sonym to większa matryca i większa możliwość obiektywów ale ogólnie to wybrał bym chyba panasonica jeżeli chodzi o filmiki.
przysłano mi gx7 z 20mm 1.7 mial byc nowy z komputronika a zostala wyslana prawdopodbnie sztuka powystawowa , nie chcialem ryzykowac i odesalem , a teraz widze że cena z kitem a6000 jest 2500 :-) ale obiektywy kurcze drozsze i mniejszy wybór w nizszych cenach , teraz widze ostatnie sztuka tez gdzie indziej gx7
mam pytanie wielkosc zapisu filmu na A6000 z tego co przeczytałem rozmiar pliku w HD jest o wiele wiekszy niz na przyklad w przypadku GX7 ?

now i will change for canon. after few years use sony a don't like colors. I more prefere canon colors and i prefer this then 4K.

I found Autumn Leavs picture profile is the best for me, but after one months of testing I found that in low light condition this profile makes lot of green hue in faces so I changes to Light profile
GL Video hello I'm planning to buy a sony a6000 however i don't just take stills i also love filming,i used to have a canon 550d and it worked well with my videos,do you think the a6000 is a good pick if i also want to take videos, i like the a6300 but it's just to expensive so in your opinion would you recommend the a6000 for someone who takes photos and videos as well
It's very good camera, but it's depepens how you like colors. Canon's colors are more rich than sony so if you filmiking wedding, babys, poeoples canon has better skin tones. Sony has sharper more detal video, so if you record more landscape or industry where isn't much skin it will be better. I have 2 cameras canon650d witch is like 550d and sony a6000. I like sony because is smaller but canon has more lenses and has cheaper lenses. Now I don't know what camera even I want.

Hendra Wijaya i also use that sometimes. It's very flat profile but i don't like color of it i thing it's to much desaturated and it's hard to pop Colors in nice way.

sony is very nice but I love canon colors, canon also have nice lenses more options and cheaper like canon 10-18 ($250) vs sony 10-18 ($600). I have sony but I'm not sony boy. Sony A6000 is cheaper but you can also adapted old nice vitage lenses. Auto focus in sony work only with sony lenses. SO for my body Canon 70d is to expensive but if you can buy used one for about $1000 it will be good choice. Sony has better video quality but colors is still better in canon. So If Canon will be cheap I will buy Canon.
