I called AAA. Very young guy was struggling getting the tire down but eventually got it. He cheated though and used a floor jack and impact to change the tire. Thanks for the demo.

I use 2 jacks and 3 wood blocks, could not get the wheel high enough during roadside flat without. 2500 HR. Let me know when your side door sticks, I have a brilliant easy fix for that known problem.

Yeah cool share your trick with me. I don't have a stock door now but I might one day.

@@roadsideguy5902 I have pictures but no obvious way to send them. Basically I shortened the cable run by zip tying the top of the raceway that the cable release travels within, a yoke on a pivot type thing.

Which ton floor jack do you have for your nv van?

I am sure the the impact wrench will over torque the nuts. I use an impact wrench to loosen the nuts and use a torque wrench to torque them to about 140 ft. lbs.

This one has torque settings, my guy.

@@roadsideguy5902 ok. At WalMart they use high torque impact air wrenches. I have to use a long breaker bar to loosen the nuts of a Toyota Sienna. I am sure they torqued them to over 250 ft lbs instead of 80-90 ft lbs.

@@a.a.6132 I see it all the time. Those old technology impacts are dangerous in the wrong hands.

Either you're using the wrong side. Where you have the wrong rod. Or the insert on the wench is stripped out. But you're absolutely correct that rod is freaking a piece of crap design.

I ended up ripping off the cup part that's supposed to guide the rod into the slot. Now it's easy to get in there and make the connection @@roadsideguy5902

Useless to lower your spare tire? Have you tried shining a flashlight into the socket to make sure your rod is engaged on the spare tire storage chain mechanism?
