That's because Star Dream was largely how the HWC mechanised planets. Those mechanised planets in turn powered Star Dream (because Haltmann was unable to restore it to its proper fully-functioning Galactic NOVA glory). You want your extra fun fact? It was revealed that any planets that were sufficiently far away after Star Dream's defeat stayed mechanised.
Technically, sound can travel through space, since there are still a VERY small amount of atoms floating around. So, for example, you can hear a supernova, it's just very quiet. This means that star dream's meow was MAGNITUDES LOUDER than a SUPERNOVA.
9:20 I love how through this whole sequence you can see Star Dream using his eyes to create shields and trying harder and harder to focus on keeping Kirby at bay, to no avail.
6:14 This is one of the most memorable and jawdropping moments of any game I've ever played. Immediately realizing that the Haltman spaceship is actually a Galactic Nova, a callback to my first ever Kirby game. That awesome music from the intro playing as star dream wakes up and opens his gigantic eyes with the Halberd reflecting into them. The beauty of this whole scene in 3D. Just so many realizations, nostalgic memories, and feelings hit me all at once like a brick wall. In one second this boss fight went from kind of mediocre to one of the most epic videogame moments I've ever seen.
Cracking open the shell and revealing Star Dream’s true face was one of the biggest “what the fuck” moments in a Kirby game for me. Of course. A wish granting machine, it all makes so much sense now. And the implications that Haltmann basically built an artificial god? Mind blowing at the time
Seeing star dream failing to fulfill haltman's wish after the countdown with that error message and face twisting made me shit my pants ngl, yeah it's just your 1 inch leap of making a 5 year old kids game 0.1% dark for the fans but it still was so uncanny to me and alot of people, especially considering how you may argue that even though haltman's Newly reprogrammed mind wanted to mechanized the world but there still was that small but of consciousness that wanted his daughter back trying to fulfill his wish, not knowing that she's still alive
I want Planet Robobot to get a remake big time! It's one of the best Kirby games in the series (if not the best one). The Star Dream fight is so awesome (especially when Star Dream becomes planet sized making the Halberd look microscopic in comparision)! Imagine what they'd do to Planet Robobot to make it even more perfect than it's already perfect self! Don't worry as HAL always does well with their games so it won't be a Pokemon BDSP situation! Also I got Kirby Planet Robobot for Christmas and I love it despite it being almost 8 years old. I'm currently at the final world which means I'll fight Star Dream soon.
It might be harder to recreate triple deluxe and robobot due to the screen hoping to like the background and stuff because I don’t know if the switch is capable of it
Mark my words! This drill will open a hole in the universe! And that hole will be a path for those behind us! The dreams of those who've fallen! The hopes of those who'll follow! Those two sets of dreams weave together into a double helix! Drilling a path towards tomorrow! And that's Planet Robobot!! My drill is the drill... that creates the heavens!!! GIGA... DRILL... BREAKER!!!!
Every piece of music for this fight sounds like that in an RPG, your ally in the previous game is the one who's been sneak-attacking you and is only revealed at the end. The intro, phase 1, phase 2, phase 3, the drill section, hell, even the Heart of Nova phase. [technically magolor already did the rpg thing but the ally part was just at the start for the current game but listen it sounds cool >:( ]
It's a little unusual that even though Star Dream is a machine, it can still roar at you, even when merged with the Access Ark. But honestly, the Access Ark as a ship alone with its 5 legs actually reminds me of the Omnidroid from The Incredibles. Imagine how it would be if the Omnidroid took the Access Ark's place in the game.
Because it makes it sound cooler and to me it makes it sound like the battle can be won by either side and possibly reminiscing on kirbies adventures and what led him up to this moment
I think this is probably the best final boss in all the series. It's just so different to different to other final bosses, that's is like your fighting something your not familiar. It's not an anti Christ entity, it's a machine. And damn that machine gives a real fight.
@@nexusetmiaouss Star Dream actually is the Nova, it's just evil and views organic life as inferior. Star dream is like a small part of it. The proccessor of the whole machine.
I'm surprised nobody is talking about the countless mechanized planets in the background revealing that Popstar was just another planet to Star Dream.

Fun fact: Sound cannot travel trough space, so Star Dreams meow was so loud that it broke the rules of the universe

Fun fact about star dream's "Nova" Phase The Meow you hear is actually the director's cat meow edited.
What makes this creepy is that you can see you’re reflection in novas eyes when they open them, such a small but very impactful detail
I took a look at that and I never noticed that. That’s amazing.
I am reflection?
