    As always, a nice concise explanation of just what you need. The reason there's two "freestyle" checks is that the bottom one is always in Blender even without the add-on.

      @darrennew8211 Thanks and thanks for sharing about the second option. I'm curious what the difference between the one that's always there and the one that isn't in terms of functionality then... 🤔

    I was always looking for such a function and instead took the detour via Sketchup …
    Amazing, thank you!

      @golemtabak1183 thanks. Hopefully this will help with efficiency a bit.

    Perfect. I've been looking at how to do this so I can create designs in blender and then pull them into VCarve Pro so I can machine them. Thanks again for another excellent tutorial video.

      @@stuartsimmons956 My pleasure. Sounds like you're on a similar mission to me (I was doing this to bring designs into xTools software.

      I think "Keep Making" channel has a few videos on it also.

      @@stuartsimmons956 👍🏻 I was looking for a similar reason as I want to put designs into xTools software for laser cutting. I've got a video coming looking at that whole process (next Friday on YT and already up on the Patreon)

    I never really wondered if Blender is capable of exporting SVG. It just didn't came to my mind at all. Didn't ever think of searching the add-ons. I expected nothing to find, I guess.
    This is so useful! … I mean, I am not sure what I might use it for but I know now that it's there! This is great news to me.
    I already loved to play around with the freestyle feature in Blender 2.79b. 😅 It can add so much depth in your stylized renders.
    You really made me happy by telling me I could also use that for SVG exports. Thanks for sharing! 😘👍

      @dueddel personally I love it for laser cutting as it can use SVG. I've got a video on that coming soon 😁

    Great video to assist with navigating the road map of some of Blender's developer's odd thought processes. Granted, the Devs in all likelihood are not seeing the end results that many people try to get by using Blender. But dang... those are some around your elbow to your nose twister menu manipulations.

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @keithmathews4605 Yeah it's an odd layout. I'm guessing there's seperate elements as one is saying to transfer the lines and others the fill. But it could definetly be a lot tidier. 😅

    Nice, but yeah it's still a bit fiddly to get expected results. Is there a similar or any way to get grease pencil strokes out as SVG that you are aware of?

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @kevinhouse7143 not that I'm aware of I'm afraid. Could it be converted to a mesh/edges so you can use the mark freestyle edge trick?

  • @benveasey7474
    @benveasey7474 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Instead of using Inkscape, couldn't you of used Blender's compositor with an Alpha over node? (To overlay Lines with a rendered image)?

    • @mavertan
      @mavertan หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, that might work.

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @benveasey7474 that's a good idea. I just used/mentioned inkscape as I know of it and have used it. Not sure how the composition would work.

    You should probably set your rendering engine to Workbench instead of Eevee, and it should display the correct Viewport Colors in the viewport and filnal render. It's bascially the raw "Viewport rendering engine".

      @ArtisansofVaul  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @mipe7755 Thanks for the tip. I'll have a look at that, I'm not sure but I had seen somewhere that the SVG tool used works best in Eevee but I can have a play.

      @mipe7755 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@ArtisansofVaul I may be wrong about that, but I see people often overlook Workbench, as if it didn't exist, so I thought about this suggestion. But I can't check it now myself.

    As of the multi-color f*ckup, if I were you, I would post it as a bug to the developer - maybe they'll fix it. That would be great.
