great videos. my first crawler is the trx4 bronco and i have done many of the updates you reccommend i.e. traxxas servo and horn, hyrax tires w beadlocks and traxxas bec kit. i didnt catch what brand and size battery will fit in the front bay tho. what brand do you suggest?

The ProTec 3S 4100 lipo battery fits perfectly in the TRX4's front tray that comes with the inner fender option. This battery placement really helps with crawling up extreme angles. With the battery in front you can remove the standard TRX4 battery tray.

Very good choice of 5 upgrading options 👍🏼 I run the savox 1230 servos with external castle creations BEC at 6Volts for max performance of that servo without dangering of overpowering the micro servos which run at 6Volts. Also hyrax with 2 stage foams 😁 the 3 peice aluminum bead locks from g-made are the best weighted wheels for the price I have came across so far. That’s a huge gain also for pound to the ground weight. Like 45/50$?
Without an external BEC, a servo like the Savox will draw too much current for the stock ESC's internal BEC to provide. If you don't use one, you'll have brownouts or just burn out your stock ESC.

I like the video but your comment about the lighter body weight ignores the fact that the other 2 TRX-4 models have the inner fenders attached to the body while the Bronco version leaves these attached to the chassis. The Defender and the Tactical both have the bolt on flares which adds a bit but I'd like to see a comparison of the bodies including the weight of the inner fenders?
Could you advise the dimension clearance provided for the front lipo? I ordered my bronco, just wanna get the lipo while waiting for it to arrive in 2 weeks :)
Best upgrade tires are Proline Hyrax 1.9 wheel size. Tire diameter is 4.7 inches. Cannot really use the stock wheels since the original tires are glued on.
Dave Hart I like it brushed because of the control I have 2 20 year sensored 3.5 Novak’s so I haven’t looked at any in years I bought a summit and e revo recently both brushed for going slow but I do love the speed of my XMAXX so if I were to buy one I would look at castle

Kind of what I was thinking, there’s a stainless high clearance set on eBay for $40 I think I’ll order. Liking this truck so far but a little disappointed in the body material. Mine arrived cracked all the way up the rear quarter panel out of the box. The box itself was mint. No crushes, creases etc.. It feels a lot harder than the standard lexan bodies were used to but seems like it’ll be far more susceptible to breaking. Very thin in some areas as well. I’ve contacted Traxxas, sent photos and i’ll see what they’re going to do about it. For the amount of money I’ve given them in the past on other RCs I think they should just send me a new body. Actually, not even for that fact but because of the base price of this RC and this issue upon receipt of the (brand new) vehicle. I literally drove it 2’ in my living room and noticed it as it was driving away. The back of the roof was also scuffed up.
Lots of good upgrades, Now all you have to do is get rid of those ugly body clips. Can't believe Traxxas could design and build such a beautiful well functioning truck and still hold the body on with thouse hideous clips.

Forgot to say that one of my TRX4s does still have the Bowhouse battery tray in it for trailing. Can switch battery locations as conditions dictate.

When changing servo.. I have to change the "arm"? Do you mean the servo horn? Or something else?
The drag brake is on by default btw. Default mode is “trail mode” “added drag brake when throttle trigger is at neutral.
Correct. It's set at 50%. Should be at 80% or 100%

That's all you need. You can just cut your old body mounts to lower it but better if you can buy new ones. Shock towers are here: snp.link/caefcfe5

9cm by 4.5cm is ideal to lay flat on the front battery compartment.

We don't have that vehicle but the the G600 is identical to the Bronco, except for the lexan body and tires. So all these upgrades are applicable.
