i love that bob is in his full saul goodman costume
He knew this read was being filmed. He knows he looks like a shlub without his Saul wig.
And Skinny Pete, too
There's no Bob. Only Saul Goodman esq.
Bus bench lawyer. 😂😂
Exactly 💯
That's awesome that they got Saul to fill in for Bob Odenkirk during the read.
😅😅
What a great comment
Dean saves it all for the camera... Aaron Paul has it all figured out before he enters the reading room... Bryan Cranston inhabits the role and could do it while sleeping
And Bob, Bob is just Bob
Correctamundo!
he has said before that he doesn't really know how to act seriously like that, like he used to pretty much only do comedic characters or 'fun' characters and he honestly thought he was the wrong person for hank is season 5. Obviously he is wrong because his acting is the best in season 5
Dean is like the confident shotgun… Aaron Paul is the AR-15 planning the trigger-pulling before entering the room… Bryan Cranston is the pistol that inhabits the brisket.
Dean saves it all for the camera hahaha
Betsy Brandt has got Lydia nailed down. Love how she puts the dark glasses on to get into character.
I couldn't fucking believe Laura Fraser's natural accent.
It was cracking Dean up
Probably stole that glasses 😂
@@drTERRRORRRWhat's her natural accent?😮
@@krisgrym Scottish, man. And it is a thick one....just as she is.
Bravo to Aaron for bringing such intensity to a table read. He is amazing!!
Table reads are supposed to be like any rehearsal, from my perspective. Granted, my background was primarily in live performance.
Anna is visibly moved.
Bravo Vince
@@Novastar.SaberCombat Only he goes 100% though, even tearing up.
Perfect practice makes perfect.
Aron was crazy at this table!! Even left Anna with tears in her eyes. If you look at her during this scene, she is shocked about the whole conversation.
Acting is definitely far more "real" than the general word around the campfire makes it out to be. The emotions are genuine. At least... they are when the actors are worth more than the price of a cheap beer if ya know what I'm sayin'. And the cast & crew of BB and BCS are CERTAINLY fine, rare, well-curated spirits... if ya know what I mean. 💪😎✌️
I know! She was feeling it with him. Great skills, Aaron!
@@Novastar.SaberCombat They nailed the casting for all of them. True actors.
That was a powerful read.
It's hard to tell, but even Betsy might be trying to dry her eyes, as well.
dean norris reads certain lines with such restraint here, but then he is screaming them in the show, i love it
Saves it all for the camera. Love it.
Damn Aaron doing that at a table read is crazyy . Bravo
Anna moved to subtle tears
I like how they changed the fact that Walt doesn't say anything to his neighbour and just leaves. The simple "Hi Carol" makes it so much better.
Exactly what I was thinking.
"This is Mrs. Heisenberg" what an awesome line
Agreed. And their matching outfits in this scene screams Mr and Mrs Heisenberg
The little kiss between Hank and Marie was so frigging cute.
I know right?
Oh my god!
Loved it haha

Aaron Paul makes it look so easy to be at 100% it's crazy
Only 96.2% 😉
@@betterbreakbadsaul10696.2%. Yes, bitch! 😂
1:10 I love how the “hello carol”, wasn’t in the script lol....Bryan Cranston came up with that idea when they were on site shooting the actual scene
i was wondering if they maybe added it in later but that’s dope on bryan’s part for that idea
The best thing in this whole video is the 1:09
Love seeing everyone's reaction to Skinny Pete and Badger's scene 😂
was that actually Badger (Matt Jones)
@@GREATEternalWarrior no
No it's one of the main writers for the show lol
aaron paul making anna gunn cry during a table read is crazy
I love how well Marie does Lydia.
ayo?
I _would_ love that
I _would_ love that
It's so weird seeing Anna and Aaron having a good chuckle and exchanging smiles when in the show there is not a single scene with the two of them where Skyler isn't staring daggers at him and Jesse isn't wishing he were anywhere else but in front of Skyler.
The only scenes they even had together that I can remember are the one in the first season where Skyler tells Jessie not to sell pot to Walt, and then there was one in the last season when Walt asks Jessie to stay for dinner and Skyler starts acting like a crazy person at the dinner table. Did they even have any other scenes together other than those two?
@@grizzlywhiskernope
@@GREATEternalWarrior Yeah I didn’t think so, I feel like they could have had some interesting scenes together if they had come into contact more than just those 2 times.
@@grizzlywhisker
That scene was so funny when Jesse was complementing the meal and saying it’s the best food he’s had in so long, thinking that it was homemade, and then Skyler says that she just picked it up from the deli already premade lol.
@@grizzlywhisker There's a scene when Jesse is helping Walt with the tanker of methylamine that was hidden in the carwash, season 5 episode 7 or 8, but they barely interact
They are all such good actors but no one could have done what Aaron Paul just did for his scene at a table read to get so real and natural making others in the room cry
Aaron in full jesse mode at the table read is unbelievable what an incredible actor
Love how Aaron just snaps into character at 18:16, such a pro!
37:35 I love how they have "dramatic as fuck" written into the script
I’ve never seen a table read before. This was amazing to watch. Thanks.
never even heard of a table read
You should see the table read for the last episode of Game of Thrones, it's funny!
This is my first time watching a table read for this long, it was as compelling as the episode itself.
Same here and it gives you a whole new appreciation of all the work that goes into producing an episode. It’s even entertaining as is.
I never smelled a table read before.
I absolutely love how breaking bads screenplays are written. Theres so much humor and personality in the scene descriptions and it really shows how this shows writing is really on another level
Goddamn, the most talented group of actors I've ever seen
I thought just Betsy playing Lydia would be the highlight, but holy fuck Aaron went ALL OUT. Literally the only thing I'm disappointed about is Dean not putting in the energy we see in the show lmaoo
Also I'm so sad after the Walt and Jesse talking scene that no one gave Aaron a hug lmaoo, I know its just acting, but like we saw in the Anna Gunn "Walt kidnaps Holly" scene this shit becomes very real for the actors very fast.
Very awesome of you to sync the scene from the show with the dialogue read. Good touch.
Aaron Paul is truly brilliant.
Bob Odenkirk sadly couldn't make it, so he got Saul Goodman to fill in for him.
As problematic as Skyler and Walt's marriage was, it was REALLY cool seeing them function as a crime-couple. That moment where they describe her as "Mrs. Heisenburg", holy shit, yes. Would've killed for a season of them dealing drugs and getting along.
That's Ozark, basically.
Honestly, I love how it was problematic but I really wished they made atleast episode where she was actually supportive n noticed how much money walt was getting instead of her always arguing
@@royalpurple222she noticed the money but she cared more about the safety of her kids..
@@royalpurple222masked men broke into their house and threatened their infant daughter. But yeah. She’s just the nagging wife. You absolute smooth brain lol
@@timhalo7898ozrark writing is worse then BB and BCS imho. Every season they fear to get killed by the cartel and find a new way to wash money. BB was definitely more creative
Notice how Jesse/Aaron Paul's performance in the couch conversation with Walter about the bags of money moves Skyler/Anna Gunn so much she's wiping away tears before her next line. (27:15)
She seems like just the sweetest. 😭 You can see how affected she is by his performance-she looks concerned for him the whole time and then she's not as in-character in her next few lines.
Aaron Paul bringing Anna Gunn to tears. Amazing
8:38 Why is Saul the only one who came in character to a table read?! 😂
lydia looked in character to me ;)
@@lessur jesse as well imo, thats definitely smth he'd wear
Skinny Pete too.
@@Freddyfrm18Skinny Pete if he didn't do drugs and became a famous pianist
Because you don't need to be in character for a table read so most actors don't do it.
Look smirk on Dean's face at 13:05 as Betsy gives him a kiss on the cheek is hilarious
This is a situation that I absolutely hated in in elementary school and high school - reading out loud among others. I'm glad to see that some people are able to do this without being nervous. I guess I just have crappy social anxiety.
Same - I could hear in my head how I wanted it to go but would never come out that way
Literally their job to talk in front of people!!!
@@megaskyburst yeah it would be a bit of a handicap as an actor if you found a table read overwhelming. Can't exactly ask for a closed set on every scene you do.
I dont know if it was by design, but I like how they seated the cast members. To the left of Walt are his family members and innocents, and to his right are his ties to the criminal world.
How did I not notice that Walt was using the exact same money laundering/business ideas as Gus?? Walt also spoke to lydia at the counter the exact same way Gus spoke to him at Los Pollos.
The show and BCS is sprinkled with Easter eggs like this, makes the rewatch value very high
OMGGGGG THATS ONE OF THE ASPECTS THAT HE PICKS UP FROM THE PEOPLE HE KILLS, LIKE HOW HE CUTS THE CRUSTS OF HIS SANDWICHES AFTER KILLING CRAZY 8
late reply, but a lot of people think that Walt takes attributes from the main people he's killed. Cutting off the crust on his sandwich, Krazy 8 style. Stealing Gus' mannerisms and business etiquette, yadda yadda.
@@senormooklei8675 i hear ya, I didn’t catch on to that stuff.
@@RabidNewts thousands of little things scattered throughout the show, and I don't have the eye to find 'em😂
The journey from lines in a script to full acting is so clear with Dean/Hank dialogue.
He really bring them to life on camera.
The script is written in a super interesting way, it's less robotic than most scripts I've heard or read (not that I've heard or read that many) and includes a lot of reflection from the narrator or reader of the script. Pretty cool.
Yeah I know very little about script writing, but I also thought there was a lot less description and the narrator reflection kind of thing.
@@grizzlywhisker some writers write very sparse stage directions, some put a lot more of that kind of knowing communication with the director/crew/actors.
Cor... Anna Gunn actually crying a little at Aaron Paul's performance. She has to wipe her eyes before she can deliver her lines
Holy Fuck. Aaron just flipped the switch
Goodness Aaron is incredible
13:02 haha they have great chemistry
Watching this is giving me goosebumps... It's really making me wanna go back and rewatch the series again!
Me too...for the third time. 😂
We`ve watched it twice, limiting ourselves to one show per evening.... Its even exciting waiting till the following evening knowing what happens already
Do it! That’s what my partner and I are doing and we look so forward to it
The fifth time...
LOVE THAT YOU ADDED THE top left screen camera of how it is in the show. amazing amazing, thanks for posting
Wow! Just wow. Aaron was acting SO great at this table read, he was actually getting emotional, nose dripping choked up. Even better than the aired scene! Bravo!
Wow I never noticed the connection with Badger's Star Trek fan script before, how that scene comes right before he decides to give all his money away. Like that was it, all the murder and mayhem, he could live with that: but hearing Badgers awful fanfic is what finally drove him over the edge
LMFAOOOO
That’s funny as fuck.
The little element boxes integrated into their names was a nice little touch.
It truly goes to show how good the writing is, that you can watch them just reading the script and it's all just there. I've never watched a show like this, since. Phenomenal stuff
Even an Oscar wouldn't do Aaron Pauls skills any justice.
Peter Gould did a kickass Badger and that's church yo!
I hope there are more table reads being released. They are very enjoyable.
Man this behind the scenes is almost as good as the show lol I could watch this entire table read aside from the show
Aaron's acting was phenomenol.
26:00 Phenomenal performance by Aaron Paul even on a table read. The emotion, the aliveness, the pureness ...If you look up close to his head at 26:10 , you can even see his veins popping up! Every time I see him I sense this feeling...that this person I am watching on my screen is truly alive and emotional, fragile but also so strong, really makes me feel relatable to him and also hope that there are more people in the world truly as alive as him... Absolutely beautiful ❤👏
The balance of comedy and melodrama is nothing short of amazing writing.
the star trek scene between badger and skinny pete is hilarious and has the whole cast laughing, superb thanks for uploading
Aaron - Actors Studio? RADA? NOPE! Just pure natural talent! ❤
This is interesting as hell.
I love the professionalism.
aaron paul is really something else, the whole cast is incredible but paul is the mvp ngl.
Dean Morris, you did an amazing job of showing what PTSD is like, great acting!
I’ll never stop missing Breaking Bad.. and I’ll never stop having nostalgia for Breaking Bad…
That is all.
Can really tell how much aaron and bryan had sunk into those characters - it just turns on
Amazing seeing Betsy Marie gasping as she's shown reading forward through the script
This was absolutely amazing. Aaron Paul had me tearing up. This is my fave series of all time. I watch it about once a year and love watching content like this.
I am predicting Aaron Paul is going to win an Oscar someday in the near future.
Watching this in December of 2023
I can still watch this show, every episode of every season at any given moment in the day. That's what happens when they make the best show on TV. Hats off to the whole cast and crew

he really deserves it
I like Dean's reaction at 37:47. So clearly his first time reading it and he's like "damn I'm gonna be sick"
Aaron Paul won three Emmys for his performance.
Having the clips playing on the side was a nice touch
It's weird seeing skylar's reaction to Jesse and Walt having that conversation
Saul in costume lmao so sick
holy shit, acting is intense. Dean Norris is genuinely fucking angry the entire time.
This table read was gripping. I was really into it! It must have been so wonderful to be a part of such a wonderful project.
Dean blushed when Betsy have him that kiss 😚
24:00 oh my god.. Aaron.. speachless. also love Anna's a gaze that looks at him warmly.. and 14:37 Peter Gould, he is so good. He and Charles Baker talk like happy children with pure joy. Love it!!
40:45 kills it even in this
It's sweet how the cast is like one big family
I need this lady to narrate my life. I love hearing the motivations that absolutely come thru in the final product.
I just wanted to leave a comment to appreciate all of this. I've never watched a table read for this long, I enjoyed this video and the series very much.
I love how there's lines like "holy shit" in the script and they're not dialogue
If you notice, after Aaron’s emotional scene, Brian looks at Aaron with such admiration as he knows he’s also an insanely talented actor. Brian really does admire him. Cool to see!
25:46 dangg..aaron paul and bryan cranston reading lines,...it looks real, the emotions are there!
BEST SHOW EVER , I am rewatching it now , holds up very well .
This is gold. I’d have loved to just sat in that room for all reads. And man Bryan and Aaron are so good even in this.

Man Jesse is always been my favorite character. To see him put this much effort just in a table read man makes me just love him even more.
Kudos to the writers. I was actually engaged by the writing just watching the table. read. Great stuff.
24:00 the conversation between Walt and Jesse , well i was got a bit goosebump because in real life voice casting was so real af
Aaron Paul is such a phenomonal actor, I actually can't tell if he's bored or if he's channeling the way he wants Jessie to look and sound during the actual take, I'm leaning towards the latter because of the way he would look over at Bob like @20:17 the yawning and eye rolls are exactly like he does it with Jessie in the actual episode, I love that.
Legendary. Iconic. The greatest show ever made. That's all I gotta say.
This is helping me in my writing so much, thank you.
Love it ❤ Hope there's more table read, i'm on BCS season 4, Thank you for uploading this.
OMG this is one of the reasons the show was so good. The narration is amazing!
