I won't lie, I enjoyed this event because the story reminds me how petty the real Academia is. I know the Arknights version is an exaggerated version, but the viciousness of different departments towards each other, the weird social heirachy, the delusional Deans/Directors, and the Ethics Committee (in this case would be Saria) scratching their heads over "too inspired" researchers, are pretty much in course of the pettiness of Academia. Makes me think some devs in the game knew that hell themselves lmao
arknights is so well written, even never having been in academia the characters felt so human that i thought "yeah this seems legit"

The seaborn, Deamon, fake sky,.... yada yada. They all function as *border guard* in a setting. It is there so writer don't have to worry about the whatever happen outside the boundary the story setting is in.
An example: If you play video game, say Half Life 2, you will sometime unable to progress in some pathway, despite it look possible to do so, because of some barrier in it.( Combine blue barrier, leech in the water in Highway 17 level,...). Those obstable serve as barrier so player won't realize there is nothing beyond that pathway.
So lemme get this straight
-A bunch of poor americans are being poor and need money
-The military hires a very rich American to organize poor Americans for a bio-weapon designed to be better than arts units
-Some other rich American bunny lady goes of-the-road and decides to make a utopia where everyone can be happy
-Random non-American doctor decides to intervene

I feel like the Pioneers are less based off of the "age of expansionism" settlers, and more based off of exploited manual labor that supported the later parts of settling like the Railroad workers.

@@Tk3997 the pioneers are specifically based on the people who worked in company towns for people like Rockefeller and Carnegie. Steel and oil barons who had enough money and influence that if they were around today would eclipse Bezos and Elon musk and most smaller countries.
As an American, this is about average for the happenings in a pharma company.

Ho'olheyak didn't kill or capture Ferdinand because she respects him for keeping his promise about Rhine Lab the whole time, and actually treasure the company he created with every one of those founders
Yeah, Ferdinand's goal was to create an eternal lasting legacy of technological advancement, and he deemed Rhine Lab to be the best candidate to be that legacy and so did everything to accomplish the goal, regardless of whatever shady shit he has to do. He was willing to do everything to create that legacy for Rhine Lab, even if he can't be part of it if circumstances wouldn't allow it
If you're wondering what is Loken Watertank Laboratory is. It is a research company led by Loken Williams, a mad scientist who want to make a powerful Originium Arts user by implanting Originium to the subject to gain Originium Arts, in hope that subjects will not become an Infected & can use their Originium Arts maximally.
A lot of people including children were experimented by the researchers of Loken Watertank Laboratory. Rosmontis & her brother were part of the test subjects.
(12:55) This man is not only a former researcher of Loken Watertank Laboratory, but also one of test subjects. It is explained why he can't use his right hand normally.
The most interesting part of this event story is Dijkstra. Dijkstra is the who hack Rhodes Island system to help Reunion to free Talulah from there & Grace and Ada's friend when she was still Columbia. I thought Dijkstra is already with Reunion to Victoria, but I guess a professional hacker doesn't need to be around & can probably do his job from afar.
I wonder what Dijkstra going to do with Pioneers, maybe he will invite them to join Reunion & prove to everyone that Neo Reunion is not the bad guys anymore. Although is going to be hard for them. But I still hope Pioneers will join Rhodes Island since Mechanist try to invite them, Mechanist is the best support character in this event with his curiosity on everything & everyone.

After i found my niche that being using Columbian ops (that includes those that are affiliated with it from different factions) I'm very glad that this event existed since i wanted to learn more about Columbia along with it's history, cities, policies, technology, etc
In short: Columbia is USA, but more maniacal in certain aspect of it's military and politics.

look at what the shock wave of her fist did and that is the result of her manage to stopped it in time before it connected. that alone would be enough to make saria a brawler guard if she's get an alter.
The problem is, that considering the lore she is constantly restraining herself, even if she goes all out on the unmanned suits. If she'd ever go all out we would need a 7 star rating and new subclass- one punch guard.

I suppose she could be the 6* version of Indra - Arts Brawler with Df or Res shredding talent. Or 6* version of Jackie, but instead of counter on successful evasion she gets counter on getting hit like Hoshi S2.

Imagine your consciousness in a hub and being used as a weapon without even knowing it. Knowledge can be a gift, but sometimes it can be a curse if you don't limit it for some instance.
That to me is a bit scary. It's a good thing Dorothy prevents her experiment to be a tool for Columbian military and set free those consciousness who got imprisoned from the hub!
we just need to make sure she has enough wisdom to not repeat her mistake. After all her mess was rooted in her desire to fulfill her vision, which caused her to be blind sided by the dangers of her plans

After reading Rhine lab story and knew about Kristen goal to go beyond Terra sky, I wonder how hard is it to just built a rocket to go to space. Originium is known for having unlimited power that can moved even continents, so a rocket can’t be that difficult to make right?

The reason the people of Terra never had made any attempt to explore space and the same reason why Kirsten and Saria envisioned to found Rhine Lab was because pretty much everyone in Terra only cared about getting power for themselves and conquering new lands, severely slowing down or even halting technological advancements.
And in the case of Columbia, science was only ever used by the Social Elite as merely a tool to obtain more power.
Rhine Lab was originally founded with the ideal to promote scientific advancements to improve society first and foremost, Kirsten deeming it as the only way to achieve her parents' dream to explore space

So Kiersten become the efficient and progress monster, the typical stereotype of a mad scientist, who only cares about result and with some objective view point. Hoolheyak is similar but more passive and just helping the one she thinks can achieve great result. modernization will become either one of the arknight world enemy or friend. depends on the end result. Who knows? maybe the technology can even be used to fight the sea monster and other great threat like the old gods from sui siblings story. Only the devs story telling ability can tell in the future
ehh...she's less mad scientist and more just extremely negligent and obsessed with her personal goals. The reason she only cares about results and seeing things on an objective view point for Rhine Lab is because she obsessively wants to accomplish her goal of kickstarting Terra's space program and get to be in space to explore and learn everything about what's out there. Especially since her parents also tried to achieve that goal, but were killed when one of their experiments were sabotaged due to a conspiracy to earn more power.
Just like Dorothy and her vision, all Kirsten ever wants and cares about is her goal to reach space

Compared to other great powers, columbia is very weak in the military department despite their power armor. It is a good decision to develop WMD.
Weak is debatable. Columbias isolation from the rest of terra means they’ve been rapidly expanding. The power armor in the event is actually outdated.

I haven’t had the time to read lore in detail for a while, so I’m not sure if this is the first time they mention what the bracelet was or if it was mention in a previous event. But I’d always had a feeling that it was some sort of temporary treatment for Oripathy.
I think there was something before, but only that it is only a monitoring tool. On the other hand there are also Amyia's rings that are arts dampeners, which slow down progress of her oripathy by lowering amount of arts she can output. Maybe this ring is similar?
Rhodes model and Rhine model both has vital sensors and emergency suppressant dispenser. The vital sensors are obvious, and Rhine model clearly mentioned the med dispenser. Since RI is leagues ahead of RL in oripathy medication field, it makes no sense if RI model not having suppressant dispenser as well.
