Just today at school one of my teachers (who is going to a Gwen Stefani concert tonight) asked what my favorite song of theirs was, I couldn't choose one. I couldn't even choose a favorite album.
The live version is so much better than the studio recording, the use less synthesizer and more instruments in this version. Nicely done, No Doubt. My faith is restored in you once again.

Este grupo de formó exactamente cuando yo nací, en el 86 y si bien es cierto que tampoco los seguí desde niño, fue en el 97 con Don't speak que Gwen me enamoro, tenia yo 9 años y la forma como cantaba esa cancion me gusto mucho, fue mi favorita y ya, hasta ahi, pero cuando tenia 13 años trabajaba para coleccionar cds originales y fue ahi que escuché material completo como "Retunr of Saturn" que no estaba a la moda o "The Bacon Street" Desde ahí conocí lo buenos que eran. En 2001 estuvieron en mi pais, Venezuela y aun se me eriza la piel y se me aguan los ojos cuando recuerdo a Gwen con lagrimas en sus ojos cuando todos en el estadio coreábamos el intro de Don't speak. (En youtube esta el video) Y a la fecha este grupo me parece EXCEPCIONAL. su ultimo disco a pesar de no tener repercusión publicitaria me parece una joya. Hoy en dia hay una competencia en la música para ver quien vende mas música usando las maquinas mas modernas de edición, No Doubt no necesitó eso, solo una banda con ganas de hacer arte a través de las notas. Disfrutate a este grupo que aun su música ofrece mucho. :) Por cierto, me gusta que No doubt hoy en dia no suene mucho, eso los hace mas exclusivos y menos quemados como los plásticos de hoy en dia.

Gwen no es solo una voz, no doubt es todo un grupo, sus canciones, su entrega, su rebeldia, la fuerza que le dieron a los jóvenes es impresionante!! yo creo que es muy dificil que un grupo actual tenga tanta fuerza y tanto mensaje como ellos, siempre dieron mas de lo que esperabamos y aun asi seguian siendo parte de nosotros, ojala los chavos de ahora lo entendieran pero ni modo, se pierden de una banda con musica real, no mezcladoras y con mensaje real.

I was making a point that even though I am 16 I never felt the urge to tell anyone on the internet about how I liked older music like ND. This is the first time I ever mentioned my age in association with the music I listen to.
Im 19 and i love no doubt, but this is because i listened to their greatest hits album then bought the rest. Kids might not even necessarily know of Gwen Stefani (MADNESS). Love this song, they sound great.
I remember when I was like 3 or 4 and always listened to their song hey baby...I recognized the name when they came on but like i wasn't insanely excited because I barely remembered hem. Don't blame our generation when they haven't heard the music...most weren't alive or were too young anyway.

I really, really love No Doubt and Settle Down. The song, the official video, the Making of... to see them reunited is so inspiring and good. But Gwen seems exhausted, hope she'l get her spunk and freshness back.

how does this sound better than the CD? i have the album and i hate it but when i watch them live i end up loving the freaking songs. Thats it gonna see them live.
this is a great song..but i think the youngsters are not totally into it because unfortunately they've never seen real musicians actually playing music..i think they are confused..lol

Holla Back Girl and Sweet Escape were not No Doubt songs, but Gwen's solo stuff. No Doubt has always had a ska/raggae feel to their music as well as just some good punk/rock. Point in case: Spider Webs, Underneath It All, Excuse Me, Mr. For me, these are two completely different entities with completely different sounds, and I appreciate and enjoy both plus I'm so happy to see that a lot of nineties bands are making a come back: No Doubt, Garbage, etc.

I bet these kids are just like "OMG IT'S GWEN STEFANI". For me, I would be crying because No Doubt are FINALLY back. And I love the new single, it's different and more modern, but they've gotten older and are at entirely different places in their lives than they were 10 years ago, so that definitely translates into the sound.
