      Keeping the ball is different to playing possession football, we are still playing the ball around the back too much, we need to finish games off, this will come back to bite us big time.

      @@unruly7516 possession football is different to dominating. I said we dominated not that we played possession football. We had double the big chances, more shots, more touches inside the opposing 3rd more touches inside the opposing box, more big chances and more goals. Leipzig got way less than 1.0xg, I mean come on that's absolutely domination. 2 big chances they had that amounted to about .5xg. Our first big opportunity measured .9xg. We absolutely dominated them

      @@shekel2356 I watched that game, they looked way more threatening going forward than we did, watch the match, stats can be inflated, a lot of there shots did not go on target because of quality, they scored 2 offside goals, or was it three, either way, they could have scored a few times and they look threatening we did not, it reminds me of when we didn’t play that well but we was the more threatening team under klopp, evertime we use to att k we looked dangerous, they had that effect yesterday, we kept the ball, at the bag and played a lot of long balls, I feel like dominated is the wrong word, we kept the ball, city dominates, the old Barcelona dominates, the old Bayern dominates, the old aresenal dominates, I’ve never supported and lfc team that dominates games. This is keeping the ball at the back.

    It may be people are confused (as am I) because:
    1) Slot changes the way we play from game to game opponent dependent, and almost from one half to the next sometimes. He only makes suble tweaks, but sufficient enough for it not to be absolutely clear how we play. Excellent
    2) I think Slot measures dominance differently than many, perhaps measuring it based on the quality of scoring opportunities created, and given away, as opposed based on possession or passes etc.
    Gotta say I love Slot so far. Everyone wants him to be the next great Liverpool manager, time will tell if he is or not.

Before Liverpool it was all he did, take the creative and risky chances and now his game is adapting to be different profile of player. Coaching things out of players takes time let alone reshaping their play style. I quite frankly enjoy when he’s on the ball and the risks he takes, it’s fresh and that’s not to mention his amazing off the ball work rate. Take home message is give him and the rest of this team TIME.

    The game under Slot for now definitely looks less energetic than recent Klopp seasons. But the funny reality is that under Klopp they were most successful in the league when they also had a pretty cautious approach. Most games in the League winning season were not pretty to watch, and similarly in i think at least one of the seasons where they finished one point behind City.
    On the other hand, I think Liverpool under Slot will be more energetic eventually, he is just getting started building a base. Games with Feyenoord and AZ were usually entertaining both in the league and in Europe.

    Spot on with your analysis about when Nunez went off.....we lost our intensity and let them come on to us even more. Nunez and Jota are both absolute menaces to the opposition defence & midfield, they are crucial to the way we are playing right now under Slot. What is most exciting I think is that this team already looks THIS good while it's THIS early on in the Slot era. Slot is very up front with his descriptions of how we play and it's going to be a long time until he feels like we're actually executing his style/system to the fullest, and that's why he's still very critical of the team even when we're seeing them succeed thus far.
    With more time and more specific players tailored to the system (meaning another midfielder, a hybrid LB/CB, a potential replacement for Nunez, etc.) I think there's another level for this side, which also depends on keeping hold of our top performers.
    Right now it's just a joy to watch and I'm 100% fine with not going all out heavy metal for 90 minutes each game. It's much easier on my heart lol

  • @hitswitchken
    @hitswitchken 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    I'm glad you said it, Nunez did what we bought him for (again).....one day he is gonna be scoring most of our goals but for now he is chaos, cleanup, someone that has to be marked. He is dominant in the box. I, too, agree the Salah kick could have been going wide, and Nunez did not let it, either way, you see it. Nunez is liked by the squad, you can tell. Which means they see the work he puts in day in and day out in practice. We are playing as a team in the truest sense.
    I am still adjusting to the Slot system, as is he and the players and it now makes sense why we did not spend this summer.
    If we can keep players healthy, which was always an issue for Klopp, and the high-intensity HI system required, then it will be an overall success.
    We are already talking as a fan base...can we win the PL or the CL. Top 4 is the only goal we have to achieve this year and anything more is the gravy. Seems like we will finish Top 4 and go deep in CL and the cups. I am good with that. This is fun and exciting.
    We need to be happy, exhilarated, and enjoy this.

    I think we played within ourselves in the second half, and looked like we could have got a 2nd if we had picked it up a bit. We still had the better chances in the 2nd half. They had two goals disallowed, but that is down to our defense working together and catching RBS offside

  • @mattelazam
    @mattelazam 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    Bro at the end of the day what matters are we win the game, get 3 points and avoid further injuries/ cards/ suspension. Theres no point 'dominating' the game/ have more possession/ have more shots if at the end of the day you drop points/ dont win the games. A football match is all about strategy, how to score goals, how not to concede, what other plans do you have to change the dynamic of the game, i.e to find winners/ to defend leads/ to keep possession. Thats why the starting eleven is not necessarily the winning first eleven, you need a team (personnel from the bench as well) to influence the trajectory of the game which in my opinion jurgen lacks especially in one off games/ finals. Thats why ancellotti said klopps team is the easiest team to decipher theres not so much of other changes/ spring some surprises depending to the matches

    Our best chances came from balls in to the box from Gakpo and Tsimikas’ corner kicks plus Salah’s shot (vultured by Nunez) and that long ball from Macca that hit the bar. RB looked great for the first 20 minutes and then their chances got few and far between. Kelleher is great at defending and our lads did more than enough to get the clean sheet. I agree that the match didn’t look like we dominated but we did more than enough to take the game from Leipzig.

From the prospect of FSG Lfc is in big trouble salah trent and VVD"s contracts are expiring this summer also Alison contract will expire in 2026 I think. It doesn't feel like history in the making because we've not played any opposition with historic significance *at this moment in time*. Yes, United, Chelsea are "historic" clubs, but their current team is not at the level that could challenge Klopp's squad meaningfully. Slot has had an excellent start, yet my feeling is that the most notable aspect of it is that he has lost 1. Not trying to throw shade on Forest because they have the second best defensive record in the division, but losing to them at Anfield seems to suggest there are more shocks in store for us. Several other teams have cut us open repeatedly and sometimes seemingly at will and that trend does not seem to be regressing; that's a warning that the side who are better equipped to finish those moves off could end up punishing us. It doesn't feel like history in the making because we're still waiting for the other boot to hit the floor, and I for one am a bit concerned about what happens when it does.

    We wait for things to happen. We dont make them happen. We keep the ball moving very slowly. Which is very low risk. And so the players dont move much from their set positions. And low risk is our game.
    Klopp was going this way in latter years. And slot is a continuation of that trend. Its more noticeable because slot is new. And it would have worked much better for klopp last season if we did not concede so many early goals last season which put is in a more attacking mode out of necessity.
