How on earth do you ever come up with these great ideas? This is Fantastic! It looks like batik doesn't it? You've done it again, you've blown my mind. TFS 😊
Thanks Martha - such fun! And so simple! Really eager to stitch the little birds but have to do my final huswif video today (and stop adding more things to it 😆) Cheers, Christine
Wow, what a fantastic video and technique. I’ve been thinking about buying some of those blocks and with this technique you pretty much convinced me that I need them. Just call yourself Christine the enabler. Ha ha.
Looks like you had some fun play time Christine. A great idea using the uhu glue stick. Love how the circles, birds and maple leaves worked out. Going to have a go of this this week. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for another very interesting, (easy to do) background piece. You have sent me in a whole new direction with the inktense and adding glue to the mix. Love it!
I’m in awe of the simplicity of materials you’ve used to make such beautiful pattern! I’m always wondering when you get the time to sleep😊. Love, love, love this! Our Spring here where I am is coming in haltingly. It still gets very cold at night. The leaves are just coming out but right now I see some mullein, dandelion, cilantro and yarrow leaves. Oooh, and I just spotted some bird feathers from the window! Only I don’t have Uhu, I’ll try 1st with Elmer’s school glue & see if it’ll react like yours. Thank you very much, Christine! It’s Easter today and we’re just relaxing after lunch. Happy Easter to you, Alex and Travers! 🐣 🪺 🌷tess
Hi Tess - sounds like spring isn’t ready to fully unfurl where you are just yet. I’m sure you’re itching to get into the garden, but enjoy those cool evenings with a cup of tea, a cat on your lap and some stitching for now. This was such a fun project. Really happy to capture some of the Japanese maple leaves before they fall. A feather would be really interesting to play with too. Plus those other leaves you mentioned. Happy Easter to you and yours. Cheers, Christine 💙
Wow! Can’t wait to try this I’ve some fabric paints coming I could try this technique hopefully with them . Thankyou Christine I love all your videos xxx
That’s a great question and I wondered that too. It seems that the sun did set them and the ink tense is completely set as you can see when washed in trough. Great process.
Hi Rhonda - no harm in giving it an iron to heat set tone sure but I usually find it is set after letting it dry in the sun outside. The main thing with the inktense is to make sure they are fully activated by water as that is what makes them permanent. Also to wash just with water not detergents etc. which is fine for these pieces being used for slow stitch projects. cheers, Christine
great tutorial Christine, so much colour fun🤗
Thanks Valita - I thought you might like this with your new Inktense set 🤗
Fabulous! Can’t wait to give this a try. Hugs and blessings, 🤗❤️🇨🇦

Gorgeous. I want to give this a try. Do you have to heat set it?
