  • A professional driver shows two ways you can totally eliminate driving with blind spots. Get the tools & learn the techniques you need to drive safe. A mirror is a mirror, no matter if it is on a car, a truck, or a motorhome. Bottom line: You do not need to see any sky in any mirror. No mirror should be set any higher than the horizon. You do not need to see birds, airplanes or sky in your mirrors. The second rule to remember is: You do not need to see your vehicle in your mirror. You are not going to run into yourself, I hope, so set your mirrors to look for traffic only. If you want to see that nice shiny paint, just turn your head a bit. Let me know your thoughts, & subscribe for more insight on easy ways anyone can drive like a pro.

    Starting to drive again after five years and refreshing my skills. I think I've finally figured out my blind spot issues when I was driving, we were taught when I was young you should see some of your car. Thank you so much!

      Yup, you "should see some of your car" because you might run into yourself. Never mind traffic, just don't run into yourself. So funny!

      I don't understand why everybody wants to see their car when it's supposed to be other cars you want to see. Looking at your own car is not helping you.

      Bob Werner I'm so glad to help. Side swipes and hitting stationary objects ("It just jumped out at me!") will be a thing of the past if you adjust your mirrors to maximum.

    How do I judge how far the car is because I am a new driver and seeing my truck helps me judge distance

    • @SternDrive

      The problem with looking at your vehicle in the mirror, is that quite often you won't even see the other car. You do want to see the other car don't you? I have no problem getting used to the other car and his distance. You will get used to distances with experience, and you WILL see the other car. Looking at your own car may mean you will not even see the other car. Why crash?

      @@SternDrive how do you estimate the distance of your car to the other car?

    • @SternDrive
      @SternDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rodolfollanera5936 Like anything, this will come with experience. You will be just like me. I never have any trouble judging how far back the other car is, however this week I was driving in bad weather and my mirrors were all obscured with salt and slop. I don't shoulder check, but I had to in this case. Why crash?

    There is never any need to cut another vehicle off. "Sorry, I didn't see you!" excuse just doesn't cut it. Blind spots never need to happen today.

      mii car I'm not sure why so many people are in such love with their door handles! Perhaps a psychologist will do a study on this phenomena some day. ;)

    Rear or front door handle

    • @SternDrive
      @SternDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You need to see traffic. Staring at your front or rear door handle is not helping you in traffic. It is amazing to me how obsessed people are with seeing their car in their mirrors. Bottom line. You need to see the other guy, not your own car, and NOT your door handles.
