    Hello mate I know your video was long time ago. Question I have a 125 cc lexmoto egnima chinese bike when I pull away I here squeaky noise coming from the clutch area which doesn't give me the maximum speed to get away then it stops when upto speed at 9mph I have also witness like a pull back when I accellerate like a a belt got jam then pulls back into play. Any suggestions what the cause is. thanks

    Hi. I know this is an old video of yours but I hope you'll be able to answer my question. I'm planning on upgrading to an aftermarket CVT but due to shortage of budget I planned on getting the driveface pulley, and flyballs. Which should I inlcude, the clutch lining or the clutch bell? The rest parts are then stock. Hope you can notice this post :)

      I read all posts dude - The lining is part of the bell - you need both

    Cant find a decent video where the functions of the inner clutch-hub (the magical thing laying on your table) is explained in detail.. (What parts it contains) And how it is built up... I get the basics with the friction and the springs and tuning mods and so on:S

      That's something I can do - you mean the sprag clutch and the helix?

      @@dirtygarageguy Yeah! Just got finish dismantling a scooter engine with a mechanic so i got the answers i needed. But im sure there are others who is wondering the same. If you had the opportunity to dismantle a modern scooter engine (or just the variator-clutch side) and in detail explain what the different parts do, how they are connected and so on that would be great! Most videos like this is 2 minutes long and have shit music playing over it, while arrows is pointing at the same 5 parts over and over again.. With 20k + views i bet there is a quality video needed here... As a motorcycle mechanic apprentice for two years all i did was change parts and servicing 2-strokes, needless to say i did not pass my final exam, but your videos is making it a lot easier for me! Keep doing what you do!

    Which is better, heavier or lighter clutch bell?

    • @dirtygarageguy
      @dirtygarageguy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Lighter - the clutch bell is just a friction surface - the only possible issue is thermal load and stiffness

      How about heavier clutch bell . What advantage and disadvantage ?

      Lighter is not necessarily better. Ask Chris from Rcscoooters.com
      The guy knows his stuff. He used to race while living in Taiwan but currently lives in Honolulu. He will make a Yamaha Zuma into a 218cc bbk with a turbo. Pretty sure he knows more than this dude.

    Hi trying to sort out what is wrong with my first scooter... 2004 Aprilia Atlantic 500. It seems to me (Coming from a motorcycle) that it engages kind of late in the throttle twist, and when accelerating, particularly at low RPMs (like from a dead stop, or coming out of slow speed corners) it shudders pretty hard. Could that be cause by the clutch not grabbing the bell housing firmly? It seems to settle in pretty smoothly after 3500 RPM or so. Thanks!

    does clutch bell discoloration normal, or you need to replace it when it develops discoloration. thanks
