They are not auto tuned. They are Fantastic! This is Indian music for you. This is Folk music from different States of India. The people from Rajasthan, India migrated to Europe ( Roma people - also called Gypsy ) who have castanets which are very similar to the instruments used by Rajasthani’s .

Yes ken .. Amit trivedi is a singer and composer.. As India is a very diverse country ,here people speak more than 100 major languages..So he is trying to present sound of nation.. Most songs here are composed by Amit Trivedi and inspired by folk music of different regions of India (based on the film the song is from, the ones by Amit Trivedi are from films). The caption at the time of each song states the name of the state/region the song is inspired from (Sound of Kashmir, Sound of Bengal, Sound of Maharashtra, Sound of Rajasthan, Sound of South India, Sound of Gujarat, Sound of Punjab), hence "Sound of a Nation".

So the nuances of Folk music are going over your head ! The musicians are not auto tuned. This is the mistake people from the West make. This is Folk Music from different part of India. The musicians are very good in India. In fact Superb ! No they are not Amit Trivedi songs. The castenets type instruments are from Rajasthan, India. The people from Rajasthan migrated to Europe and are called Roma people or Gypsy’s . For all you know the Roma’s might have taken this instrument with them from India. There is no reward for Amit. You did not hear the last song because you turned the Video off. Too much talking.

Hey Ken! Amit is the composer behind all the amazing songs you heard. He's known for blending Indian folk music with modern sounds, showcasing the rich diversity of India's 30 provinces. Each region has its own unique music, dance, language and instruments, and Amit travels extensively to research and incorporate these elements into his work. The two-sided drum you saw is called a Dhol from Punjab, along with the two flutes commonly used in folk performances there. If you're interested, you might want to dive deeper into each folk style and singer featured in his performance.

I recommend that you make a reaction to one of the best vocalists in the world.
What is that sound? This sound is beyond our ordinary world, beyond the music we are accustomed to. Generally beyond the music that we expect to hear in films. According to the director of this film, Denis Villeneuve, Hans Zimmer worked on this music for several months - a very long time for such a project. He searched for and created these unusual sounds, trying to go beyond the boundaries of what he could do and was used to doing. As we understand it, he succeeded. We heard music here that is not only extraterrestrial, but also timeless. Something similar could probably have sounded ten thousand years ago. Or maybe this is what our future will sound like. There are very few artists capable of producing such sounds. It's not just vocal capabilities and good technique - it's a completely different aesthetics, a different psychology, a different physiology. The artist must not only accurately hit the notes of this strange score - he must, first of all, be convincing. He should sound as if these sounds are not exotic to him at all - but a natural part of his nature. It should sound organic, it should sound beautiful at the same time - and dangerous, alarming, warning. In this case, that's exactly what it sounds like. Whether you like this sound or not, no one doubts that this sound is the most real. That this is not a sophisticated computer design - but a living timbre, living emotions, living energy of the human voice. Voices of the strange, unusual, unexpected. A voice that reminds us at the same time of the sounds of wild nature; and about the sounds of the beautiful singing voices of the past; and about the sounds of some other world, some universe unknown to us - sounds the existence of which we can only guess. All these amazing sounds are contained in the artist we see on this stage - Diana Ankudinova.
We look forward to your reaction to this fantastic performance.
    Full video name:
Diana Ankudinova. Art of Hans Zimmer Soundtrack from the movie Dune

Where was he “offended”? He was nothing but appreciative, especially for someone who’s not accustomed to such genre/style of music and artistry. Learn to be more accommodating of someone from an entirely different culture and upbringing reacting to your line of artistry. That would do well for you and ensure you don’t come across like a condescending dingbat.

@@silentassassin86 your usage of English vocabulary doesn't discard the fact that He's feeling awkward to take all that musical cultural diversity of India in one video...True, we have to be empathetic towards his cultural upbringing but as a professional vocal coach, he must fully appreciate the complexity of the musical artistry going in this video..
