Well on a good note about the rough day you must have done a excellent job cleaning the fuel tanks if not I’d say your fuel filters would have been plugged

Good Advice for any boater with an old Trawler. Fortunately the Moose has all new plastic fuel tanks which are squeaky clean.

Enjoy your days on the fresh water, had that ride been on salt, you would still be cleaning thee boat

When we left on the loop from Chattanooga TN five years ago, it took us 14 days to do the 900 miles run down the TN River and TenTom to Mobile Bay, 19 locks. Once entering the bay, the first dolphin sighting makes you realize you are now on blue water. I suggest before you start hitting the lock system, get a four foot rubber hose and and put a 15 foot line through it and tie it into a circle. When tying up to the ballards, throw the loop over the ballard and secure it midship cleat as tight as possible to secure to the lock. It will make it easier to lock
through without wrapping lines. Also get bromine tablets for your air conditioning strainers and once you hit salt, keep four tablets in the strainer to keep out the sea creatures and growth. Love your postings and reliving your trip. Thanks
