- This week we will be discovering the new Sampleset of the Wender Organ in Arnstadt, sampled for Hauptwerk by Sonus Paradisi. This historic instrument was built in 1703 and was inspected, approved and played by the 18-year old J. S. Bach himself!

Thanks for introducing this new set. Not just a classic organ, but a progenitor of the organ music that followed. I empathize with your comment about Bach's first instrument that can now be played in an organist's home.
No key to the church required; play it all day and night if you wish. No heavy coat needed in winter. You don't even have to trudge up to the loft carrying a satchel of music and a shoe bag.
A good but also an important demonstration. We know this organ was a formative part of the life of the world's greatest creator of music, Paul McCartney notwithstanding. 🙄
So, what remains? I'm in line for samples of Saint Sulpice and the new Rieger ogan in Krakow.

Hey, lieber Paul. Diese Orgel gibt klanglich wieder, bestimmt so wie sie einst Bach gespielt hat. Danke Dir für`s zeigen und vorstellen dieses Instrumentes. Das hast wie sonst auch gut gespielt! Es grüßt Dich Steffen aus Görlitz. PS: Soviel ich weiß, hat J. S. Bach auch seinerzeit an unserer Sonnenorgel gespielt. Damals (so wurde überliefert) meinte Bach, dass das Spiel an der Görlitzer Sonnenorgel eine "Pferdearbeit" war. Da sie sich vollkommen mechanisch, sehr schwer spielen ließ (habe ich mal gelesen - ohne Quellen-Garantie).
Haha, das habe ich tatsächlich auch mal gehört! Allerdings sind das ja auch Welten unterschied zu der Orgel die heute in eurer Kirche steht 😀
Ja, J. S. Bach würde staunen, wenn er Heute noch leben würde.

Thanks Paul, for this demonstration of a historic instrument. It's amazing that the original organ still exists in basically its original design. And now with the virtual organ, it has been saved forever and for all the world to hear and play... However, I think this version sounded a lot more refined and even from your recording of the original. And did Bach have a birdwhistle? A great video , Paul ! Thanks.

Hi Paul. Thank you your demonstration of this delightful organ sample set. Question; what is the Calcant sound supposed to be? Difficult to hear.
It originally was a small bell which told the organist-helpers to start pumping the air-bellows, so the organist could play 😀

Hi Paul! Thank you for your demonstration, I was waiting on you to post a video before I made my purchase! I seem to be running into an issue with installing the Arnstadt sampleset, I see that one of the files is a standard .rar extension but the rest are .r00, .r01, .r02. I was wondering how you worked around this? I haven't dealt with this situation before. Again, thank you for your demonstration!
Don’t worry about that. In Hauptwerk the Vol. 0 + 1 should he shown. The .r00 files are just working files which the .rar need as far as I know 😀
By installing the 2 rar files you got you‘ll automatically install these too 😀
Thank you for your help! I must be having a different problem, then. Because when I run the installation everything goes fine but when I try to load the organ it tells me I'm missing some sort of "core" and it tells me to contact Sonus Paradisi.
@@tylermorrill6967 Just redownload everything, probably something went wrong with downloading so you didn't install all the necessary files. I did it just as Paul and it worked fine (with all 4 beta test versions before the one that SP sells now).
