I was skeptic on the Jackhammer being that they’re pricier, but I found out this past spring they’re worth it. Just the better quality hook alone is worth it. I missed less fish.
I was a fan of the original for a couple years fearing the price. There’s no telling how many fish I’ve zipped it past just trying to activate the blade again. It’s INSTANT with the jackhammer.
I paint my blades on the chatterbait like the green pumpkin with a silver blade I paint it black an fish it all day an even fish it at night works just as good as the black n blue if not better.
Thanks for the update & video. I don't have any of the Jackhammer Baits. I may have to try one. I'm surprised that Zman doesn't have a weedless version. I Custom Build my Chatter Baits with a Weedguard. They never get caught into brush when fished in heavy cover. They Always Catch Bass.
Hi Rodney, yeah, no weedless JackHammer just yet. We're anxious to try their new weedless CrossEyeZ ChatterBait. It's available soon on TW: wired2.fish/CrossEyeZ-ChatterBait.
@@Wired2Fish Thanks for the link to that Baits. I build mine in 3/8 & 1/2 ounce. They have a Wider Weedguard. I might challenge myself to make a 1/4 ounce Chatter Bait.
Hey Pew Pew RN. Gussy hasn't coughed a 3 rod system but he does share his go-to ChatterBait rod and reel in this video around the 1-min mark: th-cam.com/video/sMWFkjKuZ_g/w-d-xo.html ⬇️ -Shimano Metanium Casting Reel, 7.1:1: wired2.fish/ShimanoMetanium150 -Shimano G. Try letting it sink more and real fast for that reaction bite. Color is very important too. Darker colors in murky water like black and blue. Catch many fish on it. Definitely gotta be careful casting around structure too

Funniest thing is I throw nothing but jack hammers when using chatterbaits....been tossing them around all year...I get this new one out of the package and hung the dadgum thing up a half dozen times. Any reason why one would hang up more than another? Maybe check the blade on it or retie?
🤔 Interesting? Not sure but it gets a person thinking. As you suggest, we'd probably start with an inspection of the blade and body and compare it to another one of your baits that you haven't snagged up that often.
>Conquest >Metanium 2020 MGL >Zman Jackhammer Yeah, this guy struck gold being sponsored by Loomis/Shimano and Zman LOL. I'm envious. The Conquests are 10/10 rods for sure, but to be given them? Damn.

Never bought one, considered attacking this fall with them....anyone care to impart some good fall northern clear water lake colors on a guy? Was assuming the usual suspects but thought id ask to save a buck on a lemon
Well this was just a 5min zman commercial. I learned nothing. I could’ve made a better video. How about talking about more than just the zman chatterbaits, there are better chatterbaits than the jackhammer. There I said it.
The point is to take the tips out of the video that are specific to bladed jigs. If you focus on the brand- you’ll see just a commercial... not to mention he’s sponsored by zman....
@@rm709 yeah got that, but I’ve watched much more in-depth chatterbait videos from bhite himself and he talks about the jackhammer more in-depth. I love jackhammers, I love wired to fish, I was just a little disappointed with this video. I expected a more diverse assortment of chatterbaits, like when to use a certain head shape in grass versus rock vs wood. The jackhammer does not excel at grass fishing; it’s great over wood and rock. I fished chatterbaits extensively this year and got kind of hung up on them and using them. 2019 I barely caught anything on the one I had, now I have 50+ and I’ve caught hundreds of bass & my two biggest if the year on them.
Chatterbaits are in my top 5 for sure
Love the ChatterBait, always tied on in my boat!
That 7’2 Expride MH Mod is the best bladed jig rod!!! Love it
Glass?
Love, love, love the Jackhammers! Great bait 3 seasons out of the year!
You got that right!
I use them 4 seasons here in Oklahoma. January is the toughest month, but I fish them slower and they produce every month of the year here.
Sharing the fun of fishing turns strangers into friends in a few hours.
Thanks for sharing this informative video....
Thanks for watching
This is great video for bass fishing. I normally go for deep sea fishing but I wanna try this!
My go to search bait!

That Jackhammer box is worth around $815! That's 2 months of truck payments for me. 😯
Yea thats alot of money on chatterbaits but I bet if hes sponsored he gets hooked up real nice by zman.
I paint my blades on the chatterbait like the green pumpkin with a silver blade I paint it black an fish it all day an even fish it at night works just as good as the black n blue if not better.
Jeff is my new go to guy!
Cool deal, he has an excellent straightforward teaching style for sure.

What are your thoughts on top three rods to throw chatter baits on

I HAVE NOT caught a fish on a chatterbait. Yet it is one of my most snagged lure. I have lost soooooooo many of them.
Reel a little faster... or avoid casting into trees!
Try letting it sink more and real fast for that reaction bite. Color is very important too. Darker colors in murky water like black and blue. Catch many fish on it. Definitely gotta be careful casting around structure too
A bulky trailer hung horizontally helps a little
Dang it, now I have to go get one of those LureLock boxes 😂😂 Great video 😃👍🏼
Hi Wayne, Lure Lock makes a good tackle box. The one featured in this video is the Plano EDGE Master Jig/Bladed Jig Box: wired2.fish/PlanoEdgeJigBox
What type of rod do you generally use with them?

Good info Gussy 🇨🇦
Is it bad if I say my bladed jig box matches his identically?! I absolutely love jackhammers!
No, not bad at all. What's your address 🔐?
What shimano rod do you like to throw it

"When should I throw a chatterbait?"
Every day.
Man had 400 bucks worth of jackhammer chatterbaits in one box
Basically a z man commercial
The jackhammer was designed not to open at the hook, either. That's why the slot is built in the head
Never bought one, considered attacking this fall with them....anyone care to impart some good fall northern clear water lake colors on a guy? Was assuming the usual suspects but thought id ask to save a buck on a lemon
keeps those firecraw colored jackhammers hidden
i cant justify paying jackhammer and custom prices when the regular chatterbait works.
You made me jealous....lol
Us too!
$479 worth of chatterbaits in 1 box…

Name a better chatterbait than the jack hammer.
@@BayJoua The thunder cricket & mad shaker are my two preferred chatterbaits. I also caught my 5-13 on a B&B custom bleeding shad chatterbait.
