      I like the idea of a number in the entire clip for identification, but it should be for a clip, not a submitter. For example you have _JustGonnaTruckit_ listed as *3*
      It should be *3, 4, 5, 6,* and *7* for JustGonnaTruckit as he submitted 5 separate clips.

    I don't get why people wouldn't simply speed up a little when merging on the highway, I see it so often! It's YOUR responsibility to merge on the highway, other people don't have to move out of their way just for you, ESPECIALLY trucks!

    • @neilbradley
      @neilbradley 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I don't get it, either. Maybe it's because they're running around with the false belief that giving it a little bit of gas will drastically reduce their gas mileage (it won't). Maybe in the 1970s with huge engines and carburetors, but not since the advent of mass air flow sensors and fuel injection. And for everyone who wants to try to start an argument with me about this, I'm not talking about flooring it - I'm talking about giving it a small amount more gas. Yes, it uses fuel faster but for a shorter period of time, but you use roughly the same amount of fuel overall.

That’s what I and about 3 cars behind had to swerve out the way to avoid last night 😡🤜😡👊

      I always move over if I can, not to be nice necessarily though that is part of it, but to keep traffic flowing as well as possible. Slow traffic effects me so I don’t want to contribute to it and people tend to pass on that courtesy to others along the way. I don’t care if you cut me off or budge in front, I simply don’t have the time or desire to throw a fit.

      @TOPgamesTV I think because there was an unexpected guardrail coming up and it surprised them. I think they were going to wait to pull over after it. The truck driver was coming up WAY TO CLOSE behind them and should have gotten over WAY back along. He should of easily seen they were driving much slower than he was and gotten over or slowed way down himself, long before he got on his ass, if he couldn't get over. The cammer in the big rig was more at fault here than anyone.

    • @samhainnc9416
      @samhainnc9416 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you don't drive on the shoulder at highway speeds. It isn't a travel lane and not safe. Part of my getting my CDL is how to properly stop on the shoulder of the highway and we had to do it during the driving test. Signal intent to pull over. Check your mirror making sure no one is coming up on that side of your vehicle. Start to slow down then enter the shoulder as far as you possibly can trying to avoid any part of the vehicle from being in a travel lane without leaving the blacktop if possible (Soft shoulder could roll your vehicle/trailer). Come to a complete stop and engage hazards and brakes. exit vehicle and place warning markers/flares when needed at the proper distance behind your vehicle.

    It boggles my mind at how many people do not understand that an onramp is designed to get yourself up to speed so that you can merge into traffic without much issue. Yet time and time again, I see people waiting until they get beyond the onramp to accelerate up to the highway speed, which causes way more issues. It really isn't that hard to understand.

    • @dianaellul9345
      @dianaellul9345 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      What I can't stand is when I'm on the on ramp and I'm trying to match the freeway speed then some dipstick ahead of me slows down to enter the freeway. It puts me in danger because I no longer have the momentum to slot in safely.

    • @tianamaycry
      @tianamaycry 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is my BIGGEST pet peeve while driving. It's insane how some people still think you need to crawl on the on ramp.
      People think driving slower = driving safer, but that is not always the case. While driving everything is about accelerarion, relative speeds, and road conditions. If you're going too slow for traffic, you're relying on other people to react to you, and I don't know about you, but I don't trust any of these other motherfuckers on the road, let alone rely on them.

      Yeah people literally do not understand, even cops speeds up and merge in

    • @miquelfire
      @miquelfire 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know of an on-ramp in which I'm not sure how you get up to speed. It's a clover curve that is tight enough to have the yellow sign say 25 MPH, and the freeway is 70. Doesn't help that once it's stop curving enough to feel sage enough to go faster than 35-40 (with a passenger car BTW), you have like at most 4 or 5 car lengths to get up to speed with the freeway before you're driving on the shoulder. And my luck, I would always be behind someone who goes the 25 on the ramp.
      The freeway had this major construction project going on (part 1 was before COVID, part 2 was during COVID, and this ramp is on part 3), and I hoping they change that ramps to be like what they did with two of the roads during part 2 where the road does a crossover under the bridge and there's only one pair of on and off ramps for each direction of the freeway.

    • @MikeDCWeld

      What I hate is when I'm trying to drop into the gap behind someone and they brake which keeps them in the same relative location to me and prevents me from merging. The idiots tend to keep braking well below the minimum speed which endangers themselves and the following traffic on the highway. Just let me adjust as necessary and all will be fine.

    • @Taeolas
      @Taeolas 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, other than the icy weather, that could have been me (the car) about 20 years ago.
      It was a late Easter (Snow and ice were gone) and I'd just swapped back to my Summer/all season tires and I was driving home to Ottawa (from my parents in NB), and one of my tires had a blowout while I was in the fast lane. I immediately slowed and pulled over to the left (the closest shoulder), 4 ways on and just tried to figure out what the hell happened and what do I do next. Thankfully some guys from the highway patrol came by almost immediately and helped me change the tire. (I do wish I could have made it to the right hand side so I wasn't off the fast lane; but it was a driver's side tire that blew so ultimately it was for the better. It was around Montmagny, so I wasn't really dealing with QC or Montreal traffic thankfully)
      But what I'm saying is that car in the first video did have their 4 ways on, so they probably had a sudden emergency. It's hard to tell but it looks like they went to the left first, but decided to try and move to the right shoulder instead, and probably misjudged how fast the Cammer's truck was coming with the traffic.
      If they were having a sudden emergency and had to slow and get off the road NOW, I can understand them trying to get to the right side; but really they should have just gone to the closer (left) side and waited/assessed the situation before trying to go any further.

      There are millions of people unfortunately, with your same mindset. You are 100% WRONG. Traffic on the highway hold the right of way and don't have to do a damn thing to assist you. It's YOUR job to slow, speed up and fit in between traffic in a manner that doesn't force them to change their lane or their speed. In all my years of driving I have never had a problem entering an interstate without forcing someone to assist me. Not once. They MAY assist you, however that yield sign, is NOT optional. You literally have to stop and wait at yield signs if you can't find a spot to enter. Yielding to interstate traffic while entering, is literally not an option, it is required by law. There are millions just like you and when "your type" try to force your way into me in my lane like this, you get the horn. If I can't get over safely to avoid you, I WILL pit you to save my life. @Future Pants Honestly I'm not sure what you are trying to say. If you are saying that the pickup towing the uhaul would be responsible if the semi was to move left and cause a collision with either or both of them, I disagree. The pickup did not force the semi over, he moved of his own accord. He is in an 18 wheeler that weighs somewhere around 20 tons empty and 40 tons at gross and should maintain his lane until clear. He could also just back out of it and let the moron go or if an emergency route was needed the shoulder was wide enough and unoccupied. I understand why it happened, and feel for the CDL holder as I too am a truck driver, but you don't take out innocent people if you get brake checked by an idiot, you find an empty space to move to like the shoulder or you take out the idiot brake checking you. The first brake check was mild, just back out and move on with your day. With 11 hours drive time and 600-700 miles to log, this 5 miles is best left behind you.

    Other commenters are mentioning that the trucker cammer at @6:13 pushes a white car out of their lane but that doesn't happen until AFTER the truck with the u-haul starts messing with him, so it's honestly irrelevant. I mean just watch his left mirror right from the beginning. When he moves over to let the silver car merge onto the highway, there is nobody behind him, there's NOBODY in his left mirror. Once he gets back over to the right lane, then you can see the truck with the u-haul start to appear in his mirror. When he starts messing with the cammer, the cammer is now distracted by him and then you can see that he KIND OF pushes the white car out of their lane but honestly it wasn't that bad, they went over and passed by with no real issue. The real problem here is the stupid guy with the u-haul, he had no reason at all to do what he did. Could the cammer maybe have just maintained his lane and not went back and forth? Probably. But I can understand how confusing and difficult this situation can be for the trucker to be put into.

What I see as a European observer is that most of them show selfish behavior that is life-threatening! Yes, even those who take pictures with the dashcam are not good road users! I don't even understand the concept behind overtaking on the right, because that is so life-threatening and the people who sneak in the left lane should be taken to court immediately and taken away from the car because of coercion!

      Yeah the trucker should of stayed put and laid on his horn. No doubt he cut that guy off trying to get over to avoid the fool failing to yield entering the highway. The big rig should of laid on his horn, maintained his lane and pitted the car if the car didn't back off. You can't risk a collision trying to avoid one like this. It's more dangerous. IMO big rigs should never swerve.

      He never should have slowed down and let that car entering the highway merge in behind him. Slowing down to let him in causes everyone behind you to start braking. It takes a car traveling at 65mph about 3 seconds to stop in ideal conditions. It takes a fully loaded 18 wheeler traveling 65mph 7 seconds to stop in ideal conditions. Combine this with average reaction time and air brake delay, and you have a situation where a few car lengths following distance (normally 0.5 to 1 second) is unsafe and reckless for an 18 wheeler to maintain. If 4 wheelers don't respect that, they can cause accidents. 7 seconds is an awfully long time, sometimes.
