- it’s almost strange talking about university in the middle of the summer. but i did the university of york open days at the end of june and i was inspired to make this video in the hopes that it might shed some light on what happens at open days and what it’s like working them as an ambassador. i never really went to any open days (well i didn’t go to any open days for the universities i ended up applying to) and i think they’re great resources that definitely should be utilised! as always you can ask me any questions in the comments! see you next time…

This makes me really want to meet you at the open day. 😂
I unfortunately couldn't make it to the Open Days, but I'm coming to York in the fall! I decided to come for fresher's week as well, and I'm nervous, but also looking forward to it 😅 Was it hard to get everything together the first few weeks? I keep thinking about all the stuff I'll have to sort out and my mind gets all crazy😂 Also- Thanks for making these videos! It really helped to have someone who studies there and makes videos when I was choosing my firm choice💕 Kept on telling my mom "Oh yeah there's also this and that, I saw another one of Chelsie's videos"😂
I'm coming in the fall too, and couldn't attend either, so here I am watching Chelsie's videos too :) Do you know when is fresher's week?
Juliet B Yeah! It's from the 23rd of September I believe :)))
Congrats on getting on offer for York! Honestly freshers week/starting uni is a lot less daunting than you'd think. Just make a big list of everything to do and systematically go through it all. Most importantly have fun, you only get one freshers week! I'm so glad my videos helped! 💖
Congrats for getting an offer! Freshers week is 27/28th Sept - 4th Oct this year!
Chelsie Angeles Thank you! Makes me feel better😊 Any tips on how to prepare for it? Also, will we have access to accommodation right when we arrive? Sorry for pestering you with questions😅 And thank you for all the info❤️ Loved the new Suits video💫
Hey do you have advice for someone who wants to go to York but can't come to open days? I really want to go to York but I can't attend open days as I'm an American.
Hi! I didn't go to any open days, so I'd just think about what you priorities are for choosing a university (whether it's modules, the course, ranking, accommodation etc) and decide whether York fits the bill. Also google maps helps you to see whether you could see yourself there!
Do you have to pick a college or should I look at all of them on an open day?
You don't have to pick a college. I would recommend looking round as many as possible, but looking around all 8 on the day might prove to be difficult. So i'd whittle it down online first and then only look round the colleges/room types that you really like on the day.
Thanks for the advice.
I’m thinking of applying to York, would you say there’s a large Asian community at York?
hi! massive. a large amount of cohorts is made up my international students.
Chelsie Angeles wow ok thank you!
