Hi Dan, I just wanted to provide some ‘user’ feedback after buying these a good while ago after watching your review. I’ve used musicians ear plugs for more than 25-years so I’m always interested in new/better products for hearing protection and sound quality. These have been really disappointing. The box, internal foam packing and case they come in looks high quality so I was surprised by the insubstantial, cheap looking plastic body and stem of the earplugs. None of the foam or silicone ear tips supplied give a particularly good seal in my ear canals which is a fundamental prerequisite for any hearing protection. The sliders that alter db reduction between 7-25db feel loose and fragile, so I wasn’t surprised when one of the sliders stopped working on their 3rd outing while I was wearing them at a gig. This meant I could not increase my db protection. Luckily I had my old pair of Elacin ER-25 musicians ear plugs with me so I had to switch to these, which incidentally are 25-years old and still fit and provide better noise reduction than the Minuendo’s. In Summary, as a guitar player and musician who has had noise related hearing loss and tinnitus for 40-years since I was 17 and needs to use hearing protection I wouldn’t recommend these. For me Minuendo were a poor fit, poor quality, with a fragile faulted db reduction slider system. Not what I expected for £120. In comparison a new pair of custom fitted Elacin ER-25’s are around £160 and the Loop products which as yet I haven’t tried but get good reviews seem to retail between £35-60.

Have you tried the Flare Audio titanium plugs? If so, how do they compare with those?

I ordered a pair yesterday. I got curious! I'm not a musician. I work in a loud environment with machines, and I have sound sensitivity and auditory processing issues. I have Loop switch and Flare earplugs. I wanted something that's a combination of both with switching features.
    I thought I'd give Minuendo a try.

      How to you find them?

I'm also looking for a pair of ear buds for loud environment. I would be interested if you can get an update about this. I also looked for the dubs!

@@seanzoan I kinda spent quite a bit for earplugs to experiment which one works for my situation. Minuendo and Loop earplugs are good for attenuating noises in stores and gym, but it is difficult for me to hear when someone talks to me. Just for reducing noise, they are good.
I also bought 3M electronic earplugs that have microphones in em. That helps amplifying voice, so I can hear people a bit better at my work (manufacturing). Although, machine noise also gets amplified too 😅 and it sounds even louder in my ears with “listening” mode. I guess I can’t win.

I appreciate these are probably not designed for the kind of comfort you need to sleep with them in, but can you or anyone else who’s tried them commend on whether they’d be comfortable enough to sleep with one in your ear and resting against a pillow or such like?

Hey, thanks for the review, really thorough. Are you still using them? Are they good in the long term? In the same situation as you :-/

These sounds good. Is there any kind of noise like white noise or a static kind of sound when you wear them but don't hear music or anything ?

replacement buds are quite expensive for what they are

Have got a pair to check, but the size of the outer ‘tube’ on which the buds fit are usually standard size or similar enough that you can use whatever replacement bud types you want, base on comfort, prize or whatever floats your boat. You probably won’t be stuck to only having to use the ones recommended/supplied by the manufacturer - but if that’s not the case would be interested to know, as these sound like a great solution I’d like to look at for going to concerts as well

Yes yes, meanwhile you probably read magazine reviews like the gospel truth… do you think their samples aren’t free?
