If hurricanes are this strong early in the season, God bless us for the rest of the season. 😮
Agreed, and I live in Texas😰
It was a Cat 1 (out of 5) when it made landfall.............
@@jacobtodd1622 when it was in the water it was a cat 5 when it made landfall it started to get weak

I just want some news on the power outages in the Houston area and an ETA of when they’ll be restored.
Same here
Gonna be a week
July 10 6:30 for me alvin
@@lordy1952where did you get this news
The reality is it’s very extensive and may be several days depending where you’re at.
yep the “official” modern records only go back to 1850. But then we do have many historical accounts from colonial period, from Spanish, French, and British sailors and colonists of hurricanes. And while there’s no way to know the actual strength, cat 1, 2, etc, those accounts that we have from those historical people are devastating. Wiped out several colonial towns. Example, I just recently was listening a podcast about Cabeza de Vaca and the narrator cited the first known, written account of a hurricane that wiped out Havana, Cuba or some early colonial settlement in Cuba. Completely demolished what little there was at that time. It is a historical account from the 1520s, just after they conquered the Aztecs in Mexico and had base of operations in the “new world” in Cuba. Fascinating stuff! And geologists have been able to make note of previous potential hurricanes even before that, through coastal soil analysis, erosion studies, soil core sampling studies, et cetera. It’s always been this way. And fortunately we have modern technology to help us help ourselves. And yet… and yet… we still get shellacked by those durned hurricanes.
It's easy to comment and make a podcast about stuff that happened 500 years ago, nobody from the era to question the content.
Yes we have been getting powerful storms for a long time. We need better forecasting.
@@DiecastjoeI think this hurricane was forecasted pretty well imo
This was a measly cat 1 and Houston was debilitated. I shudder to think what will happen with another Harvey.
A tree fall on my house
Oh no. I hope that you are ok.
@@katcraig7525 I’m oh okay but it is bad
A tree fell on Greg Abbott and he's never been the same since.
So sorry 😢
Hope you remain well. Sorry about the tree. Horrible.

This storm wasn’t normal at all…
@@ebonaparte3853 neither was FL receiving 2 ft of rain within a day from wat wasnt even a hurricane. They are putting fear as if this was hurricane harvey, a CAT 1 is sustainable even for Texans. They tell you it could be stronger or go to a Cat 3 level and you would believe it.
1st cat 1 to shutdown a city, smmfh
Got backnside go through there be lits more. Eye hasnt come through yet
storm in a tea cup?
It was pretty bad
Record storm? 😅😅😅
In the Caribbean
This is a cat 1... Imagine a cat 4 hit Houston
It's not always about the size it's what it does bro hurricane Harvey put my house underwater so it was about rainfall on that one. This one sucked because the rain was so widespread and of course we're all sitting here with no electricity
80 mile an hour hurricane a low class 1 hurricane is a record-breaking hurricane what are you trying to do scared the hell out of everybody we get 60 70 mile an hour winds with a with a little rainstorm around here in North Carolina that doesn't bother us you people must never get rain
No one said a single word about that aspect of the storm at this stage being a record. You contrarians love to make up sh*t to feel somehow important.
Record breaking as it's the fastest category 5 hurricane in records
It was record breaking for being the earliest category 4 and 5 on record. It was a 1 for Texas, but not for the Caribbean. Texas is not the only place this Hurricane hit. Did you watch the video?
Number three😂😅
