So I definitely didn't want this to be streamed considering it was basically our fourth gig, plus we were worried about not having our own sound guy. Feel free to make your own judgments, but from my perspective, I was having way more fun than I was nervous. That said, my vocals are mixed way too loud on this stream, and I would definitely have preferred to use my own vocal effects pedal. Add not having a sound check as well as me not being able to hear myself sing very well in my in-ear monitors and you have this.
As I said on my stream, the energy in the room was amazing, and I'm pretty sure everything sounded better in person. Of course there were nerves, but overall it was an experience I'll never forget, and I appreciate that people were there to give that to us. It does make me want to try harder and do better in the future, and even though I'm not really a singer by nature, I do enjoy singing.
Anyway, I just don't think this video fully represents how we sound, and I think actually coming to a live show would be way better. I also hope you'll enjoy the album versions of the new songs when they eventually come out too.

even if i wasnt there in person, the experience from the stream is was a treat. again, to quote every comment on this video, it's a bummer the mix is a little rough (def sounds better from the audience's perspective) but it doesn't make it any less awesome.
btw personally, playin' to yourself and pretendin' there's an audience (as cheesed as it seems) goes a long way in building stage presence, and that's key to singing live imo. that being said, it's somethin ya gotta get from experience.

@@kylee2002 Ya this is shit mixing. Voice is waaaaaayyyyy too far forward and bass is practically non existent. Probably sounded good in person, but jeez this is terrible. Like a shaky voice is perfectly fine when it sits in a mix with everything else because everything else helps compensate.

A lot of it also has to do with the stream’s bad mixing. If you look up some fan recordings it sounds way better.

It's really just song-to-song. I feel that, in general, he sounds better on the new & unreleased material so it might just be what they practiced more of.

I dont care for the mix on the live stream, I bet it sounded 10× better than this live in person. But besides that, they sounded awesome!

It was AMAZING in person!!!!! The stream doesn’t catch it but we were SINGING to the songs we knew. I was singing along but everyone else was and it was so loud I couldn’t hear my own voice. It’s a bit of a shame there isn’t much audience audio so you can ‘t hear us during the songs but it’s definitely nice to have clean audio of the songs.
It sounded SO much better in person. the mixing audio is honestly a disgrace here he deserves alot better it sounded much better

when my friends and I saw Deftones in 2023 we were about 20 feet from the very front and had this like 7 foot tall beast near us that whenever a group of people would attempt shoving their way to the front (the venue was all standing inside a speedway so the spots were just first come first serve) he'd just reach his arm out in front of them like a railroad crossing barrier and push them backwards lol that guy was a blessing
As I wrote in another comment, I was one of them ;-; luckily I had a sliver of a viewing window next to the other girls, so I still got to experience and enjoy the show!
i'm a 6 foot dude and i always get stuck behind a 12 foot dude without fail. that's why i only go to local shows these days. you can move around and stuff

i was stuck by a fair amount of tall people and i had to stand on my tiptoes to see vinny from afar. the funny part is im 5’7 so it wasn’t even like it was my fault for being too short. My calves still hurt from straining my legs like that :o(

For anyone who is dissappinted in the mixing in this recording, try looking for audience uploads of the show! It sounds WAY better there, the vocals and the band. And you can actually feel the audience energy too!
I swear I almost cried throughout the entire show. The video doesn’t do it justice, they sounded incredible. And the new songs ROCK!
(Also, I was one of the people standing behind that giant in the first row, thank you people in the comments for understanding my plight ;-; I had to squeeze right on to the girls next to me, but I still managed to see Vinny somewhat well!!)
Also, a bit sad I didn’t get to meet them at the signing, as I flew for 12 hours for the show, but honestly just the experience of being there and seeing them live was all worth it! I will never forget it!
That transition between Forgetter and Remember almost makes me think they intended for them to compliment each other, pretty cool Melpert pretty cool

It was a lot better in person. I wonder if it has to do with vocals being direct feed for the stream and going through the amps in person. Hopefully someone else who was recording has decent audio. Everything was pretty well balanced.
The mix in person was awful. This actually sounds way better, though not perfect. Vinny's vocals were barely audible during most of their set. :(

Damn the livestream didn't do it justice with the lack of bass. Was this a technical problem? Otherwise the sound's not bad at least on Vinny's voice. They sounded amazing live tho.
Being there live felt like a dream. All the live versions of the songs I knew were so amazing, especially Remember, In The Garden, and Atom Bomb. The audience was great and the experience with the audience made the songs so much better. I sang along to each one I knew. The new songs were amazing live too, and Cheer Up was so funny to hear at first. I definitely want to listen to them more to have it grow on me.
I was so bummed out I didn't get to meet them for the signing, but just seeing them live was so worth it. Their music means so much to me and I was looking forward to saying it in person. Also, I wish I wasn't so short because I could barely see the band and I was in the middle of the hall!
I hope all of Red Vox knows how many people love them and from ALL OVER! I met a family who came all the way from Chile, and I made friends with someone who came all the way from Canada, and I even met a Shrimp Lady cosplayer! Shrimp Lady was really hoping to meet Vinny too 😭
I also absolutely loved hearing Long Long Ago and Dopamine live, honestly great songs and I cant wait to hear them more when they are officially released

I was there. He started a bit earlier than the scheduled time so I think the live stream was just set to start at the expected time, thus a little late.

Yeah Vinny was probably pretty nervous but in 'Cheer Up' he sounds so beautiful. I got immediately new favoutite songs from the new album. Can't wait to hear the album versions.
Rewatching the concert, Cheer Up definitely sounded wonderful. Hearing it live definitely was a vibe. The new songs are definitely growing on me, but I really did like hearing them all live!

I just listened to a grateful dead show from over 50 years ago that was mixed better than this. Goes to show that while technology can help make things easier, if the person behind the sound board doesnt have the chops then you're not gonna get a good result. Maybe they made it vinny forward because they thought of it as a 'Vinny' thing rather than a RedVox thing, but who knows.

So nice to finally see the mythical Joe! And Bill looks like such a dad! Shame the bassist had level issues (he motioned to the booth a few times, so I hope he eventually heard himself; not easy with drums right behind you). I love how the band is interested in doing live shows! I do BTS work in theatre, so I know the nightmare of sound mixing, lighting, and performing onstage. You couldn't pay me to sing and play before an audience, so absolute kudos to the band!
Although the instruments sounded crisp and energetic, the vocals were kinda lacking. I know Vinny has said before that he's not a live performer; it takes time and training, honestly. Falsetto was a little painful, and he was flat here and there, but man, I am proud as heck for him and the band stepping outside their comfort zones. Even if I wasn't there in person this time, I'd still pay for this show!
Is it just me or has every third or fourth Red Vox track something to do with memories? :D

This was an absolute blast I’m so glad i convinced myself to go. Got my Regular Show Steve Blum double whammy’d by Vinny and my buddy’s drumsticks by Mike. He was one of the ones recording with his 3DS 😂 I’m so glad it became a meme. I was pressed up against the right speaker as people were squishing in, but fortunately it got me out of the way of a dude who was like a foot taller than me.

I would've loved to hear more songs that we already know and love, especially considering they've put out a lot more stuff since their last show at TMG. I kinda feel like a nitpicking snob by saying that, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't a LITTLE bit disappointed in the set, heh
