Bruh!!! Your reaction was awesome!!! Love watching people witness the greatest band that will have ever been. Nobody can touch this band not even close!!!!
This was more than 20 years into Pink Floyd's career and without their lyricist. You have a lot of gold to discover yet. I envy you. I wish I could hear it all again, under the same circumstances for the first time. I'd go back in a second. Wouldn't miss the cell phones everywhere and the bollocks of modernity.
David Gilmour, the lead singer and lead guitarist of Pink Floyd, is one of the very best guitarists you’ll ever hear. Keep exploring Pink Floyd and you’ll hear for yourself.
Pink Floyd is not just a band, it's an experience. Just listen and let it absorb you. This is one of the rare bands when comments aren't necessary. Try Comfortably Numb.
As with all Pink Floyd songs , no detail , no matter how small will ever be overlooked. They are as great in studio as they are live. A real treat and there will never be another
This was Pink Floyd about 1988, I saw them at Wembley Stadium and they were fabulous. Watch the Pulse concerts of 1994 for the absolute best ever live performances. They are the best band to have graced the planet. Dave Gilmour lead singer and guitar is the best guitarist ever. There are others who are faster and more technical but nobody plays with his emotion. He still tours. He is 78 and still the best.
The Band are timeless and in a league of their own. Davic Gilmour is firstly a guitarist and a lover of harmony and musicality, he brings a lot to their performances as does richard wright on keyboards, nick mason on drums, and lyrically from all and including ex bass player/lyracist roger waters & original founding member Syd barrett. together they have all created a catalogue of genuinely inspiring & famous music that will live on far beyond their lives.
Great choice, both for picking Pink Floyd, and for this song. The Floyd doesn't write love songs. They write about deep subjects - mental health, dying, corruption - and their lyrics stay with you. They make you think. And they take their time, they never rush through their music. David Gilmour is the lead singer, as well as a world-class blues guitarist, and his solos are often quite moving. (It's considered bad form to interrupt a David Gilmour guitar solo.) You have a treat in store, brother. Their PULSE Concert is a legendary show; Pink Floyd were musical perfectionists, so the sound was impeccable all night. And PULSE was one of the very first computerized light shows, and back then nobody knew what a "computer" was, never mind what you could do with one. The show was literally indescribable to anyone who wasn't there, because we didn't have words to describe it back then, and there was nothing else remotely like it that you could compare it to. "Sorrow", "Time", "Money", "Another Brick In The Wall", "One Of These Days", "The Great Gig In The Sky", pick one at random - everything that night was spectacular. Of course, the song that brought the house down was "Comfortably Numb", I strongly encourage you to react to it first. Seeing Pink Floyd is not like going to any other concert. It's an Experience, and you are inside that Experience. Brother, you've been "Floyded"!
You need to check out the " Pulse concert Earls Court 1994 ". You will be hooked fully on Pink Floyd .. Almost every song has an extended introduction plus a classic guitar rift From the incredible David Gilmore..
As someone who was around as these albums were released, it's always a pleasure watching someone's first exposure to Pink Floyd. I couldn't help but laugh at "Does he play?" David Gilmour's vocals are amazing and he has mastered that guitar. "I'm of the belief that a player like David Gilmour could do more with one note than some of today's shredders can do with a dozen." Dave Mustaine, Megadeth. Remember, as amazing as this sounded, THIS WAS LIVE! Wait until you experience what they do in the studio. Another mind blowing live performance is Comfortable Numb from the Pulse concert with a guitar solo you won't believe. Then may I suggest "Shine on You Crazy Diamond?" Parts 1-5 and 6-9 (studio version here please for your first listen). A tribute to co-founding band member Syd Barrett and his losing battle with drugs and schizophrenia. Then, for something I guarantee you've never heard or experienced before, The Great Gig in the Sky. Again studio version with Clare Torry on vocals please. Pink Floyd did themed albums and their music is meant to be listened to in the album format, so ideally you'd experience The Great Gig in the Sky as the last song of Side 1 of Dark Side of the Moon. Arguably the greatest album of all time, approaching 1000 weeks on the Billboard 200.
Pink Floyd is the name of the band. The last lead singer was David Gilmour - and he ist also a God on the guitar. And he is still giving concerts today with almost eighty! (this recording was in 1988!). Next: Pulse concert 1994: „High Hopes“ or „Comfortably numb“!
This song started me cooking at the homeless shelter. I had to do something. Cooking is something I'm good at so they will get a good meal. I couldn't turn away anymore.
any thing by pink floyd either the pulse concert noted as the biggest and best live concert ever or david live at Pompeii suggestions high hopes, great gig in the sky,, comfortably numb ,, one of these days, and the grand finally using over 1 millions dollars of lighting, run like hell
Hes Dave Gilmour the lead singer and lead guitar player and the best ever guitar player ever hes sols,s are super awesome ho check more Pink Floyd best band ever yet again David Golmour the Goat of solo,s
David Gilmour is a guitar legend. He pulls it out of his soul. This is your first song, you need to go down the PF rabbit hole my friend. Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, Meddle, Division Bell, all great albums and theres more! But Gilmour and Rick Wright (RIP) on keyboards can't be matched.
The song is about how people turn away from others who are suffering, and in need. They're saying we should not be turning away but should be helping these people.
you may want to go to Dark Side of the Moon, good place to start, try to listen from beginning to end...it just may change your life...Great react, I Love watching people get into Floyd for the 1st time! Great Fun for this old man! Keep On!
Pink Floyd is the band. David Gilmour is the lead singer and among the most revered guitarists of all time. Check out "Comfortably Numb" by them next. Studio version first please.
Please never ever stop Guilmours solo giutar, otherwise you will lose viewers and subscribers.Im a Floyd fan for 50 years .Welcome to the Floyd family. We need to cherish this man for as long as we can,He is 78 yrs old.I just saw him on Halloween night in concert at the Hollywood bowl. Waited 50yrs for this.Have a good Flyd journey and God bless peace ✌️ to you my friend.
The animated video for 'On the turning away' is a real eye opener. RIP Richard. Check out some of the other songs from 'Pulse' like 'Great gig in the sky', 'Run like hell', 'Comfortably numb'. Good reaction.
I laughed when you said "This guy is a pro!" 😅 I guess you'll enjoy most of their albums at least since 1971 when "Dark Side of The Moon" was released.
David was originally a guitarist who also did some vocals in a " covers" band. One of the Pink Floyd band was a friend of Davids and had known him for some time, and knew that David was already a professional musician.....bass player Roger Waters has admitted in interviews that they knew they were improving and learning, but not yet good enough to be considered as " PROFESSIONAL " musicians. When front man, guitarist and lead singer , Syd Barret, lost his mind to drugs they invited David to join the band for live gigs, as a back up for Syd. When Syd became too lost mentally to perform, they replaced Syd with David permanently. Roger Waters claimed management of the band, wrote almost all their new songs and considered himself the new lead vocalist ......as his own narcisism grew, he came to believe he was Pink Floyd and the others just his hired band. David wrote / composed most of their music, but Roger was now claiming that everything was his......even though David was clearly the lead singer and composer....and also wrote some important lyrics. Most quality musicians can sing, because the music is inside them and they have an inbuilt ear for pitch, tone and melody.......hence even Bob Dylan and Joe Cocker became vocal giants. Dylan was originally the creator of a school boy ROCK band and Joe Cocker was a rock band drummer. lol
I invite you to check out the studio versions of Shine On You Crazy Diamond (parts 1-5 and 6-9) and Echoes. These are long songs, so you'd better set aside some time. You'd also better be prepared to expand your idea of what sonic art is with Echoes.
DAVID GILMOUR FOREVER ❤❤❤❤❤ DAVID GILMOUR THE BEST❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for allowing us to join you in entering the Pink Floyd rabbit hole, this hole runs deep my Friend, I hope that you continue to see how far the hole goes, you don't listen to Pink Floyd, you experience it, may I suggest like others here have, that you check out their 1994 Pulse Concert in London, maybe do the entire concert in segments, when you play their albums, Some are recorded to play nonstop from start to finish, each song blending into the next, I'm sure that if you decide to see how far the hole goes, you will be most greatful for taking the journey, Thanks again and God Bless
I play guitar, bass, keyboards. I busk on a major street making some money. A friend of mine , who played Pink Floyd just died. I play Floyd in his hinor.

Comfortably Numb Pulse concert 1994 or Sorrow both from Pulse concert
David Gilmour widely regarded as one of the best guitarists ever. Always plays the perfect note, amazingly gifted musician.
As with all Pink Floyd songs , no detail , no matter how small will ever be overlooked. They are as great in studio as they are live. A real treat and there will never be another
"Is he a guitarist or a singer?"
One of THE best... EVER!
There's only one answer that covers all your questions about Pink Floyd.
More Pink Floyd!

Lesson 1: never ever pause a David Gilmour solo
He is both a guitarist and a singer, he is a musician.
You need to check out the " Pulse concert Earls Court 1994 ". You will be hooked fully on Pink Floyd .. Almost every song has an extended introduction plus a classic guitar rift From the incredible David Gilmore..

Comfortably Numb will blow your mind.
THAT'S the TRUTH. You really do need to react to it. It's been called - arguably - one of the greatest concert performances ever recorded.
Now I'm going to check that out. Thank you so much

Glimour is the guitar players' guitarist. There is no-one else like him.

YES, that's the fabulous fabulous Margret Taylor at 11:23 with an 'outrageously' high note. Superb.
The song is about how people turn away from others who are suffering, and in need. They're saying we should not be turning away but should be helping these people.
“Does he play?” He sure does.

He certainly does - reasonably well to say the least.

Don't forget Rick Wright, there would be no PF without him!
The wizard on guitar, Gilmour The Gray
If you think that this track has a lot of intro', then listen to "Sine On You Crazy Diamond"
David Gilmour é o melhor!!!
