Mine arrived today aidan. I’m 31 and haven’t had a layout since I was 12. Like you I like what the model represents, it has reignited my interest in model railways whilst helping to support a great cause. Maybe I’ll have to buy some baseboard and track now!

definitely going for the TTS but not sure yet on fitting the lights. It is a very nice model
looks like a good model, i find the hornby 66s are quite entertaining personally i really like them. cheap and cheerful. pulling power isnt amazing however theyre just such good value

great review,lovely loco. Had mine today,but unfortunately,mine was missing a snow plough and the other one was loose in box and slightly damaged.Looks like a call to Hornby to try and sort.
Sorry to hear that. I was excited but dreading opening the package on camera in case there were problems. I'm sure hornby will sort it out for you

Edit: I'm thrilled with her, but one of the snowploughs beneath the bufferbeam is broken in half but I already have a spare in the parts box but the model is great anyway

Great review Aidan I can’t believe that so many people want this when it is really basic and when you think about it nowadays everyone goes for the highly detailed locomotives
Well really in my case it's more than just the detail. It's personal. Having lost a few people during the lockdown and knowing a good many NHS staff who worked their socks off, i had to have one. Cheers David

yeah i had heard dapol were doing the n-gauge version. I think Hattons would be mad not to, however we will have to wait and see. Hornby haven't done a bad job and i'm certainly happy with mine
