    This scale allows for so much more movement. This 15mm is awesome!

    Sounds like the change of scale has revived your enjoyment of the game. Andre's dice rolls seem pretty good this week.

    IABSM, with or without the CoC activation system hack, is great. Same deal as CoC though, where it plays better in the smaller scales.

    Another great game thanks I play CoC in 15mm using inches as it was originally envisaged and find it great I just have the figures individually based on UK pennies and increase the amount of cover so that there are not vast clear fields of fire.

    Definitely like the 15mm a lot better! Also like the new JOPs over the old ones. The old ones are cooler looking but the newer ones are a lot easier to see on the video. I know the basing issue can be a pain - just use death caps /rings for the casualties. Or, remove the figures from the old bases and mount them individually. Great game guys! Hey - as long as you’ve got your 15’s out, you ought to give O-Group a try. I think you both will like it!

    When you discussed the benefits I was like, yes! But then you mentioned the camera and after action reports and I figured that that would be the deciding factor.

    • @tabletopcp

      Not necessarily. We will still play in 15mm. I will even do some rebasing to make it easier

    15mm just looks right, as much a I enjoy 28mm gaming, 15mm just looks epic on the table top.

    Andre has great trouble remembering to re role those ones especially if Travis does not remind him.....
    To be fair I'd probably do the same....lol........
    The good old 1/72 plastics will do the trick relatively cheaply on ebay.....

    Your content keeps getting better and better. What kind of table do you use, or did you guys build your own?

    You can deploy unseen into a building right? I mean not being blasted then but ready to defend it and/or go to windows/doors and fire (revealing yourself) later?
    In my book 15mm is better for ranges etc but I see why you film the gorgeous bigger individually based models :)

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I am pretty sure you can do that. Just have to stay off the windows and don’t shoot.

  • @paintingwargames8587

    Do you think is better with multibase or better with single bases for 15mm?

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Single base for sure. Or if multi based then build them to match the platoon layout.

  • @vonSchwartzwolfe

    I agree the 15mm does not video well. You might try zooming in closer but it will be more shaky.

    @paulbenson9015 ปีที่แล้ว

    Enjoyed this battle and its great seeing it in a different scale but from a Viewers perspective, I think any future games would be preferable perhaps on a smaller table as the terrain and the forces look a little lost, but nice models and terrain all the same👍

    How often do double phases change the game? It seems like most of the time the game revolves around it. It is certainly a strong influence on the narrative.

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The can totally swing the game one way or they can do nothing. It really depends on when they happen. At the start of the game they aren’t that impactful. But if they happen when you are out in the open trying to cross a field or something and the enemy gets an extra phase or two or three that could be game over. That’s why a lot of people have house rules to limit their effectiveness because they can and have ended games.

    • @jekylthorn8969
      @jekylthorn8969 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tabletopcp Spot on! I have even seen videos of the designer of the game mentioning that double phases have turned the game. How can you limit their effectiveness? Take a dice away on the second phase?

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jekylthorn8969 dropping a dice is a popular house rule. Drop one command dice for every consecutive phase. QWe let the first extra phase go with full command dice, then drop one if roll another phase and then that’s it. After the third phase you don’t get any more even if you roll yet another double 6. We have had a lot of games go off the rails because of of constant extra phases by one side. It’s all part of the game just have to be ready for your perfectly planned attack to just suddenly die in multiple phases of enemy shooting you were not expecting.

    Great video, I started watching the live show, but I only got about 20 minutes in, Eastern problems, ha ha,,, I had to go to bed, but I did watch this one, ( in 2 sessions) it was enjoyable, I loved the twist ending, seriously I should not watch your games, I should finish building my army, and getting it painted, I have been working on the Soviet Starter box for over a year, .. ha ha,

  • @crimsonerrant
    @crimsonerrant ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m afraid to say that at platoon level 15mm is a bit hard to watch on a video. I also don’t feel it’s the right scale for CoC (even if it’s the theoretical ground scale). Bear in mind that the author Richard Clark said he would not play it in 15mm (although he may switch to 20mm).
    On the other hand, IABSM would be perfect for this scale, especially on video. As it’s not about independent men but about squads and platoons. I really encourage you to try it. It’s a great game and would look epic on the videos.
    Finally O-Group while cool, loses a bit of the magic as the units on the table are not represented 1:1. After all it goes to battalion level on 6x4.

    • @toofatlardies
      @toofatlardies ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I've played in it 15mm loads of times! It's the 'correct' groundscale and I think it gives a more tactical feel.

    • @crimsonerrant
      @crimsonerrant ปีที่แล้ว

      @@toofatlardies Oh, sorry. I may have remember it wrong. I recalled you saying that you had a 28mm collection and that if you had the chance to start anew you'd switch to 20mm but not to 15mm.

  • @davidlee7052
    @davidlee7052 ปีที่แล้ว

    Check out Iron Cross by Great Escape Games. It has the best activation and reaction system I've played. It's a fantastic rule set. You can learn it quickly, and it avoids the tank parking lot that often occurs in Flames of War. It also works perfectly with figures based for Flames of War.

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Company level?

    • @davidlee7052
      @davidlee7052 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tabletopcp The orders of battle are points based, so it's very flexible. The author didn't want to restrict wargamers because most of us enjoy doing our own research when building a force. An infantry company reinforced with armor works really well but I've also played a couple of four-player games on larger tables with multiple companies per side.

    • @tabletopcp
