Hi Naveen , what happened 2-3 days no vlog uploaded from your end. Waiting for this only finally came. This train mainly caters for Trichy, Karur,and the Erode. First introduced b/w Chennai & Erode then Coimbatore and finally to Mangalore. Also useful for Kerala people in day times as an intercity.

Hi bro ,I'm a frequent traveller of this train between chennai and trichy. Naan normal ah rockfort thaan romba prefer pannuven. Tatkal rockfort kedaikala na intha train thaan choose pannuven. Trichy to chennai ku ithu nalla train option thaan. As u said Mangalore ithu oru nalla option ah nu thrla. I think it is better to choose trains starting from central IMO.

In past this train used to originate from CBE and depart at 17:15 and reach TPJ at 22:00. Just 4 hr 45 mins. After it got merged with MAQ TPJ this got more halts and slowed down.

This was earlier Tpj to Mangalore fast passenger . Since Rockfort got extended during that era to Kumbakonam (now its back to orginal) ,this train was added as additional train between Chennai and Trichy. Then from Trichy to Mangaluru it runs as passenger

Nostalgia.. I used to travel in this train frequently in my college days.. 2009 till 2013. Although it is slow, the journey was nice. TPJ to ED section was not electrified at that time so during rake reversal at TPJ diesel loco used to pull the train until MAQ. I had a previlege to see the semaphore signals b/w TPJ to ED which are now replaced by electronic signals.. This section is now fully electrified.. Food enjoyed in this train: Morning BF after Karur Jn. by an outside vendor (home cooked). Good taste.. Vada/Samosa in Erode Jn and Buttermilk in Utukuli station.
