In the meantime, safety requirements in Fruinia have been reduced again a bit (now being 12 instead of 15 in 1950). I recorded the new episode at the most difficult time :D The new safety hell is now Hetvesia. Edit: sorry for a few editing mistakes and inconsistent audio. My mic has let me down. Time for something more reliable soon.

you know the man is doing quality content when he makes "fake" documents and newspapers just for those 10-20sec of content and lore. Amazing work, man! props to you, please do not stop these videos 🙌
I think Lorenzo has outdone himself with design again, showing why he is the boss as when it comes down to it and the company was, overnight, suddenly left with stock that cannot be sold and a expenses which would make them insolvent within a year, he manages to coachbuild new bodies that "comply" with the rules (they said we have to have a roll cage, they didn't say that it couldn't be made from cardboard) and once again look devastatingly dashing. People say "the Montone" is named after a Ram because of Lorenzo's stubborn mentality to headbutt his way through problems, however I suspect it might be due to the build quality of the rear suspension, which has a tendency for the shock absorbers to detach from one end and dangle off the underside like a pair of testicles...
@@the.bavarian (Allegedly) aluminium roll bars and easily replaceable front and rear subframes. Especially visible in the 037, 1/3 of a car in the middle with tubes welded onto both sides to form the suspension and engine mounts. The Montano is a lovely little car! I wish there were a more flowery name for it, because a curvy little yellow thing like that only made me think one thing, but the Italians (and Fruinians) still call it La Banana. Expertly handled crisis and I earnestly look forward to the next steps for Cisalpina!
That was great. I would have advised Lorenzo to sell the cars as kit cars in Fruina by selling them with an in 2 pieces. Body and Engine. Or possibly talk to the gov. Officials about getting an exemption for such a low volume of cars, say under 100 per year. There ‘s always loop holes in the rules.
Yeah, but the game has no loopholes, so we have to pretend that the government is just blind and cannot / does not want to see the suffering in the smaller companies. The S.C.A.M. company might even be state-owned, so eliminating some competition is a nice effect for them.
Enjoying the series so far Der Bayer! Love how you were able to integrate the game update into your campaign's lore. You did a great job turning a potential disaster around and save your company. Look forward to more.
Would a series being commercial vehicle based be viable? I think it'd be interesting to see how vans and trucks survive early on and the company needing to make a commuter car or something to survive with major influence from its commercial vehicles. Otherwise I love these vides no matter what it is! Good stuff man!
It definitely would be viable in the game! You can build those quite cheaply and still get a decent profit. If you like, check out my livestream from a few months ago, where I did something like that in a campaign speedrun in Archana: th-cam.com/video/RPlO08LIV8s/w-d-xo.html
I'm not sure when high visibility safety equipment (helmet/vest) invented or used regulary in italy. But in my head canon people assume that Lorenzo chose yellow because it was the same color as safety equipment, and some say he might be trying to send a message to fruinian government that sound like "LOOK GUYS, I MADE VERY SAFE CAR AS YOU WANTED. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?" with the yellow car 😂
On roadsters, you can interpret the 'improved roof strength' to mean that they strengthen the A-Pillar to ensure that it doesn't collapse in a roll, thereby ensuring the occupant's heads have somewhere to go that isn't the pavement, though here calling it an 'A-Pillar' is a bit of a stretch. It's only really on cabrios with usable rear seats that they start to need a roll hoop.
The racing sports cars of the time developed rollbars at some point, too, so I think we are on the right path. With the current windscreen it definitely was the only viable way. Maybe for a facelift or true convertible version we mount a proper windscreen without a rollbar.
Gotta get rid of my job first and get more money from TH-cam :D Honestly, each of these episodes is around 8 hours of work - so it would be a full time job!

Mid-engine will happen! I guess after mounting the V8 into the Montone it should be clear that more weight on the rear axle will be beneficial. I am already afraid of having to drive it :)
I wonder if Lorenzo could re-engineer a space frame chassis into the Rivetto, that way he could keep his favourite lightweight machine around a lot longer, while making it even lighter and sharper and making the law-man happy regarding the safety.
From a game perspective this is impossible, and from a lore perspective Lorenzo would probably rather move on and make something better than trying to keep the old concept alive.
With the added roof, it still looks like a cute little pig, but a lot less temperamental now with the better tires. Reminds me of the Porsche 356, but still looks pretty good. If I might ask, what about a lightweight farm vehicle? Something comparable to the Willys Jeep, for light duty usage. I could see Lorenzo making his own design, in the event that the company might go under and he just needs something to help him work the fields.
I guess for such kind of car low cost is very important, and this is only possible with larger, expensive factories - so not viable for now, we have to stick to more wealthy demographics and small-scale production.
