      Chinese know the advantages and disadvantages of the WEST & China very well, neutral. So many Chinese have been to the United States. But Americans only know the disadvantages of China (Except for WEST guys who have been to China) ,They never know What is the real China? Because the mainstream media in the WEST only reports the disadvantages of China.(maybe 95%)
      & Then the western media said that Chinese r Thought closed... That's so so funny

      Chinese have a clear mind. It's clear who am I? What is the west? What is democracy and freedom? They know why they don't use the system of Western democracy. They use their own social system. They Know How should they go in the future??(Even western media often accuse China of not implementing the western social system. The WEST thought they r The king, if u don't follow the WEST system, then u r evil. Actually, Singapore has proved that there is still a good society without the system of Western democracy )

They want access to basic human essentials like food and clean water, and education. They just want to be able to live their lives as best ad they can. As a white American man, I am glad that this information is available now. Wow. I learned a lot more about how the Chinese people think. I also love that this is a great way to bring the cultures together. We have differences for sure, but we also have a curiosity for each other and that is way better.

    • @HFrevive
      @HFrevive 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Yeah, we g2 be open minded. It's my 7th year in the US now, there are still many classmates asking me questions like "do you guys have McDonald, Starbucks and etc" in a pretty high ranked college. I wonder what were we actually learning in high schools and colleges. These should be places where new ideas are accepted, but mostly I see misunderstanding, arrogance and ignorance, and many are even proud of being that way. Besides, seeing 2016 election process myself, I deeply feel the press is not free anymore, as president Trump said it is controlled by the establishments and it only informs what it wants people to know, such as Chinese eating dogs :) Not much better from Chinese controlled press- that they only report massive shooting in USA.
      Nevertheless, I have to point out, these people are well educated and live in Shanghai, the largest city in mainland. They are absolutely a minority group of China, and one of the guys even said he had been living in the states before. The general public in inland are very closed minded, and most of them are not informed.
      We both have a long long way to go. Anyways, I wish both countries be good, and every one have a good holiday season. :)

    • @Cyber.Lynx.

      I agree, greylock1959. This sort of documentary is invaluable for giving both cultures an opportunity to understand more about each other without heavy handed propaganda influence in the form of media outlets and comment trolls whose purpose appears to be to keep people in a state of constant division. Sorry for the long winded sentence.
      To be more succinct, keep up the good work, Asian Boss!
      Oh, and by the way; I'm an old white guy who resides in Texas. As far as I know, most Americans don't dislike immigrants, but they do dislike people who enter the country in an irresponsible manner. Doing so is, at best, a sign of disrespect.
      Expanding upon that, the spirit of racism knows no political boundaries or skin tones. All it knows is evil as it represents fear.

      @10 No, as a person who's been out of country, people tend to have a biased opinion of America in certain countries. China being a country we could realistically find ourselves in a war with makes me surprised they don't try harder to set a hostile view of us. Don't try to be a smart ass and make the "Haha, stupid American" argument. There isn't even Western propoganda, I can't ever recall a time I've seen anything saying something against Asia or any of the countries in it.

      hi Adelene No, the rich minority is just the loudest and they are racist. Remember that we have a lot of Asian people living with us. I had a Chinese friend in school. There is a problem though, China is fairly closed off to interactions with Americans because you guys had a lot of sites blocked. Personally I think it is a way to keep us from interacting and realizing that the elite of both of our countries are always using propaganda to make the other look bad. If both populations were able to interact, we would see this. We are doing our best to get Trump out of office at the moment. It doesn’t look like it is going to happened but at the least it looks like he will be impeached.

      Well most cities are like Shanghai, and most rural area people don't care much about western countries that much because they can't afford to go there. Half of the population lives in urban area where information is abundant and half are not. Though I can tell you most students and scholars went to the US will start to have a less delusional view about western country and realize western countries have as many problem as China. Still, it is almost impossible for China to have the same quality of life as in western country. And China's influence will unlikely surpass the US in the next 3 decades.

    As a Hongkonger (a special administrative region of China practicing Capitalism), I have to say the interviewees are very rational. Even they may hold both positive and negative impressions, they're not blindly praising or criticising. And it's a rare phenomenon in our society as people are either extremely patriotic or antagonistic. After all, we need more peaceful conversation and communication between people or even nations.

    • @loganflatt
      @loganflatt 22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      It's not that Hong Kong practices capitalism -- it's that HK practices democracy. People in HK get to vote for or against those in power in government. People in China (Mainland) do not get that same right. But, people in China (Mainland) also practice capitalism ever since 1979 or so when Deng Xiaoping opened up China and introduced free market reforms away from pure Communism where, previously under Chairman Mao, the central communist government controlled and effectively owned everything -- which was a complete disaster. Millions of Chinese people died of hunger and starvation after communist policies failed to deliver food to millions of people in the 1960s and 1970s. Now, millions of Chinese people freely trade amongst each other to capture a profit -- that's capitalism. And, capitalism is how Chinese people have lifted themselves into a new middle class over the past 40 years, despite political control by the CCP remaining in place.

For most (almost all) TH-cam channels, I would never recommend advising....but if it's relatively affordable, this is a case where you should take advantage of it. I would never think to find an entire (& high quality) channel dedicated to filling the gap in communication/understanding between Asia and the Rest of the World. As a Chinese who has lived in the US for 6 years for higher education (MA+PhD, at an "elite" university near Boston), I'm not surprised to hear what the interviewees in this video have to say about their perception of America. The only person with first-hand knowledge of the US, namely the middle-aged guy in denim, sees America as a less than ideal place to live in, while all those younger people who obviously have spent little, if any, time in the US, still in many ways picture the US as a heaven of freedom and equality (though with certain qualifications). This is so common and typical and shows the one thing that the US has undoubtedly succeeded in: controlling world Media (including non-Party-run media in China) and brainwashing common people worldwide.
    The US has managed to impose its own biased, misleading and deceptive definition of "democracy" on the whole world. 70 to 90 years ago things were different, when communism as a political and ideological movement represented progressive forces striving for real democracy---demo=people, cracy=rule. Rule by the people, for the people. What matters is not whether you can vote in the presidential election---see how the 2016 campaign went, a joke. Democracy is not about how many parties you have. A multi-party (or in many cases two-party) system is simply a system that feeds on the partition (hence "party") or division of interests in society---different or even conflicting interests of different privileged groups or advocacy groups, who utilize the people to vie for political power. They do not, cannot and are not willing to represent the long-term interests of the common people, because, despite the conflicts between the priviliged groups themsevles, the gap between the elites and the people is much larger and fundamental.
    That's why, whoever the POTUS is, they will soon break their promises to the people which they used to lure peoples' votes---they no longer need votes, what they now need in office, is the continuous support of the real rulers of the US---economic oligarchs in different sectors of US economy, finance, oil, arms industry. And these tycoons have much more in common with capitalist oligarchs elsewhere in the West than they do with ordinary US citizens. And that's why there is so much debate going on in the US about things that affect peoples' life so directly and obviously---health care, environmental protection, clean energy, public education. They debate because they don't care---they do care about how these issues can benefit their groups--but not the people.
    In the Chinese system, the CCP would have set aside the divergencies and would have started making policies, in consultation with expert and representatives of the people, to promote whatever benefits our country and people the most in the next 5-50 years. Real democracy is reflected in the fear that if you don't work for the people, they will depose you without the resort to an election. When you lose people's faith in you, the whole system will decay.
    A multi-party, election-driven political system, based on the internal differences among the elites and the gap between the elites and the people, namely, Western "democracy", can never think rationally in the long-run. It is by nature nearsighted and close-minded and increasingly unable to make long-term policies. They rely on fancy language and terms to keep people tame and complacent.
    US has more equality? Wow, then who is the 1% that the 99% stood up against---in vain? Then why are the elections controlled by a bunch of rich people whose net assets surpass what most ordinary Americans can make in their entire careers? Then why are there so many homeless young people wandering on the street with their poor dogs holding signs like "seeking human kindness", bankcrupt and deprived of the right to restart a career under the capitalist financial "credit" system? Is this freedom and democracy? Are these people human beings?
    Democracy=Serve the People. Democracy≠manipulate people to choose between two puppets serving the true ruling class. The US presidential campaigns are seriously like liturgical rituals that give people the illusion that "wow this is democracy".
    The young people in this video, who still live in dreams and care about trivial matters about whatsapp (c'mon, it's about security. Chinese investors and products are banned by the West for the same reason; if you have a passport and can travel abroad, then you cannot claim that the government wants to control your little mind), need more exposure to the real US. It's not their fault. They simply need to read more history, travel more to rural China and other countries, and know a bit more about technology and the military, so as to stop acting like a self-claimed, laughable "bourgeois". Be down-to-earth and we will realize that the Chinese system is not only legitimate, but also morally firm.

    • @yning5475
      @yning5475 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Apparently freedom is defined differently in different countries, so the US standards don't usually apply in China. And in China people don't find it be a problem not being able to elect the president, because China has developed a unique system called "selection and election" of choosing its leaders, which works pretty well for China, very different from the western models, so basically not comparable. In the US you can change the president/parties but a lot of time can't change the policies, in China we can't change the party but we can change the policies. Very efficient in terms of decision making. As a average citizen, being able to elect the president doesn't really mean a lot, not more than just a vague perception of "having the rights to elect", in fact could be dangerous if a unfit person gets elected (yes I am talking about Trump).

      We'll see how "racist" the people in those nations become. Hmm, perhaps it is only natural be dis-favorable toward the large influx of another tribe.

    Based on this, I believe that the average chinese citizen doesn't want to go to war or any military conflict with anyone (North Korea, America, etc.) but rather they want peaceful resolutions instead. War is bad for the economy and for the people and I hope no war would break out in the pacific or anywhere involving the superpowers. I'm from the Philippines btw and I don't want my country to wage war with anyone nor be attacked by anyone. We had good relations with China and US before and I hope now we can estsblish that again.

      Why would any average citizen from any country want to get involved in wars

      This is true for most people in majority of all countries... It is always the government, the top brass, the head of state that antagonize other states. The people that suffer are the average joe.

    WOW! People in China know more about our government and it's affairs than 95% of what Americans know about Chinese politics. I'm also subscribed to ChinaUncensored ( and now SUBSCRIBED to AsianBoss) and I at least know a fraction of current news with Chinese politics. If I had a N.American Boss Channel and did this sames exact piece here, asking the same questions, I would have to ask a hundred people before your average American would even know who the leader of the Chinese Communist party is... let alone ANYTHING about it's history since WW2

      You know China Uncensored is run by a cult that is 10x worse than Scientology right? Oh and yes, this cult is getting official support from US government simply because they talk shit about China.

      Asian Boss is good. But China Uncensored, uh...you know they exaggerate a lot, right?

      The people in China know nothing about history. They only know the parts of history the Chinese government doesn't censor.

      Nothing? Do more research. The government claims Chinese culture have 5000 yrs history, and they surely teach it in schools.

      I don’t like Chinese government and its value. But the cult that ran China Uncensored is worse. Their style of getting popularity is a bit like pre-1949 CPC before its take-over of China.

    This was great to watch. Love their use of humor on each topic and unique takes. And the war question/answer cracked me up "Only if one of our leaders goes crazy" LOL
