    Very nice, as far as it goes. Now then, RAH authorities: Hauptwerk please 🙏

    As an organist the most interesting thing for me is seeing what non-organists make of this new sample set. It will be a fascinating journey hearing some newly developed or previously unheard sound-worlds involving the RAH's great Father Willis organ.

    Great video, I discovered sample libraries recently and it helped me improve my production quality.
    My content proves you don't have to know music theory to make fairly good covers, technology can do wonders sometimes,lol
    Peace, from a Pink Floyd fan

    Un popular opinon. I dislike the way it was sampled. I don't really like having to work off presets. so it sucks when I can't chose my own stop combonations.

    Are you allowed to say this when Spitfire offers Symphonic Organ? 🙂But it looks (and sounds) interesting indeed and the price is not bad either.

    • @DanKeenMusic
      @DanKeenMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well… 😅 two things: firstly, Spitfire pays me to compose for them but will never control what I share on this channel. Secondly, I think Symphonic Organ does suit different styles to RAH due to its size and acoustic environment

      @DanKeenMusic RAH organ is a 'symphonic' instrument but it can also play in the neoclassical style. This was enhanced in the 2002-04 rebuild by Mander organs. The Great division was divided into two, with the more narrow scaled pipework from the original 1871 instrument put onto its own soundboard. This is called the Great Secondary division. John Mander also enhanced this division with a new mixture stop of high pitch (intervals 19.22.26.29). The result is quite convincing and the rendition of works such as JS Bach works really well.

    No! Please try the "Hauptwerk" software, with the "Essen philarmonie" sample set, then you'll tell me if this one really is the best library!

    • @mithramusic5909
      @mithramusic5909 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There is a barrier for entry. I can never figure out what is included in which version and it is prohibitively expensive. You could get a subscription but a lot of people including me hate those and would also be concerned about losing the ability to play purchased libraries after unsubscribing. The website seems determined not to clear anything up. Hauptwerk needs to do more to entice people familiar with the sampling industry.

      @@mithramusic5909 I have to agree on your point.

      I was sceptical when this sample set was released, knowing what Hauptwerk can offer, but I think quite deliberately this new sample is more accessible to a wider audience than it would have been via Hauptwerk. If successful perhaps this sampling will fund a more in depth version available for organ purists?

    How do you think this compares with the organ from Orchestral Tools “Tallinn”?

    • @DanKeenMusic
      @DanKeenMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't played with that organ specifically but it's much more 'churchy' than Royal Albert Hall. It's been designed with the orchestra in mind so really accompanies well. I think RAH could be more "cinematic" for this reason

    I'd say 2nd best. LOL. IK Multimedia Hammond is probably my number 1. This is definitely one of the top cathedral organs though.
