*Question of the Episode* Realistically, what rare zoo animal would you like to see / plan on seeing in the near future? Man, wish I had been able to travel to Cincinatti Zoo when they still exhibited Sumatran Rhinos, the only zoo to have them in the entire Western Hemisphere. Another animal I would love to see is a Tasmanian Devil. They're so rare in American zoos. Even more so in Mexico where I live. A platypus would also be agreat.
Wow, I didn't realize that there were very few zoos that display Walruses! That just gives me all the more reason to visit Point Defiance Zoo one day. Thanks as always for the tour, Zac. I especially look forward to the next one!
I was born in Tacoma Washington and my family lived there till I was 3. I don’t remember much about that time but I remember the zoo. My parents took me there monthly, and even after moving to Oregon we woulda still travel up north every couple years to see it again. I can credit Point Defiance with instilling a love and passion for zoos and wildlife in me, and while it isn’t the biggest or most modern zoo, it will always hold a place in my heart as somewhere truly special. (Side note: I do remember the Belugas and they are missed)
Realistically, the rare zoo animal I would like to see in the near future is the platypus, which I hope to someday soon see at the San Deigo Zoo Safari Park. I've been to the safari park before, but of course, I just so happened to go mere months before the monotreme's habitat opened!
@@mariedufore8795 I'm not going to lie, for a moment I thought you were mocking me. It took me a second to realize you were making an amazing reference. (Haha)
I didn't know this zoo once hosted Beluga Whales! You _can't_ go wrong with seals & sea lions, but _that_ would've been something to see for sure (even though I've seen them before at the Shedd Aquarium and at SeaWorld California and San Antonio).
When I went to the Naples Zoo back in 2023, I was hoping to see their Honey Badger and Striped Hyena. But the hyena wasn’t out and the badger was sleeping in its log. So hopefully one day if I go back I can see them.
Crazy story! The walruses at Point Defiance that are in this video were originally supposed to go to the Toronto Zoo! However, because of COVID, it didn’t work out
I would like to see the platypus in SDZ Safari Park, and the rough-toothed dolphin in Clearwater Marine Aquarium. I would also love to see the golden takin at the San Diego Zoo.
Gnarly! Visit the San Francisco Zoo, Sacramento Zoo, Seattle Aquarium, Woodland Park Zoo, & Australia Zoo soon, Zak!🦭 Also, 6 zoo trivia questions for you & your girlfriend.... 1) How many years has the Alaska Zoo been housing Dall's Sheep so far? 2) Which years has the Sacramento Zoo originally housed tigers way back? 3) What year did the San Francisco Zoo built the new Grizzly Gulch exhibit for the 2 grizzly bear sisters? 4) How many zoos around the USA are known to formally house wild horses? 5) How many years ago did the Brookfield Zoo originally house elephants? 6) How many years so far did the Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium originally exhibited Komodo Dragons? And the rare zoo animal that I wanted to see is the crested screamer at the Woodland Park Zoo!
The rare zoo/ aquarium animal I would like is the great hammerhead. And I would like to see them at Sharks! Predators of the deep at the Georgia aquarium because it has other rare shark species and it is an amazing exhibit. Also the Georgia aquarium is the number one zoo/ aquarium I would like to visit and Sharks! Predators of the deep is the number one exhibit I would like to see.
The rare zoo animals that I would like to see are the African wildcat and an animal that used to be realistic but not anymore and that animal is the red shanked Douc Langur.
Geoffroy's tamarin and blue monkey are two species I have my eyes on for 2025. While less likely for 2025, I'd like to see a drill and a sun bear while they are still exhibited in the US.
Walrus is on my list for 2026 for a not seen species. Last year I got sloth bear off the list completing my ever bear species . No new species on the list this year only new exhibits.

Since you've mentioned Dallas World Aquarium l, I have a feeling you might know what's on my list of must-see rarities.
Hmm... if I had my say, then an Arabian oryx.

I choose the walrus for every zoo worldwide.

Keep up the great work, @ZooTours.
Love anytime i can see a walrus
When I went to the Naples Zoo back in 2023, I was hoping to see their Honey Badger and Striped Hyena. But the hyena wasn’t out and the badger was sleeping in its log. So hopefully one day if I go back I can see them.
I’m planning to see platypuses and geladas in San Diego
I remember ET and Rosy the walruses from when I was a kid. Used to have beluga whales too.
Crazy story! The walruses at Point Defiance that are in this video were originally supposed to go to the Toronto Zoo! However, because of COVID, it didn’t work out
Mic quality is incredible
I'm going with one that I'm pretty much 100% sure that I'll never see and that's a Quokka.
I would like to see the platypus in SDZ Safari Park, and the rough-toothed dolphin in Clearwater Marine Aquarium. I would also love to see the golden takin at the San Diego Zoo.
One rare animal that I would like to see is the aardwolf. That's one reason why this year, I hope to go to the Cincinnati Zoo.

I would have to pay for a one-on-one experience, but there are one or two zoos in the U.S that have pangolins
Walrus is on my list for 2026 for a not seen species. Last year I got sloth bear off the list completing my ever bear species . No new species on the list this year only new exhibits.
