    the advanced bending lesson goes into much more detail with regards to these concepts. the bent note blues riff lesson provides you with some great 2nd position riffs beginning on various bent notes. see video description to learn more.

    for years i practised Top of the Harp- louis myers on a poor cassette player, ronnie has fine tuned my ear to find out it is in 3rd not cross harp, go figure, his excellent videos cover a multitude of great instruction on harmonica. im too old to really benefit however he will get you playing, i dare you to buy 3 of his videos and see what happens, i prefer the octaves class, and sound like william clarke and that opened up my hearing,

    Really great concepts. Some stuff I knew, kinda by feel, but have never defined as concisely.

      cool David. I think it's important to be very specific with how we practice and use bends in our playing. then when we're not thinking and we are just playing they begin to come out.

    This is a fantastic lesson. I’ve recently subscribed to your channel and have thoroughly enjoyed what I’ve seen so far. I have piddled w/ the harp for a few years ( very infrequently), but it wasn’t until the recent passing of my father that I’ve decided to commit and take it to a whole new level. He always talked about learning the harmonica... I will do so now in his honor.
    There’s so many options out there to learn.. do you offer a step by step “course” of some sort? I’m somewhere between beginner and intermediate stage. Thank you in advance

    I'm not sure what I am missing. I have been playing/practicing for a month now. I was able to get the 4 hole bend within the first 2 days of owning the harp. I can now go straight to it and have been able to use it in riffs. I can now also get the 3 hole half and full step bends and go straight to those as well. I have not been able to get the 1 1/2 step bend in the 3 hole yet. For the life of me, I just can't seem to bend the 2 hole. At all. I don't even attempt the 1 hole. I keep my tongue in the same position on the 3 hole as I do on the 2 hole and try to pull my tongue back even more on the 2 hole. I have tried the "Kooo" sound in the likes of Darth Vader breathing but I can hear saliva gurgling in the back of my throat and it's not a good sound. Nope. Nothing! It's not the harp as I have tried several others I have and get nowhere with them on the 2 hole either. I have used the Bending Trainer app and piano notes and have been unsuccessful thus far. It's really starting to bum me out because I so want to learn to play Stone Fox Chase. *sigh*

    I have a 64 Chromonica Hohner, got it as a gift. I was starting a little playing on a small c blues and was given this other for apresent. It is different and I need to know how to get started or change up for another type, Marine maybe? I use the first learning on line. Silent night by number and notes but I have to go up another note and can not get the sound I want . Can you tell me more about what I am using?

    Can these bends be done on an out of the box Hohner c harp? Or does it need to be gapped?

    What's ur thoughts on big river harp for beginner and is it a good harp to learn bends and over blows and all the beginner stuff without too much truble

    • @Harmonica123
      @Harmonica123  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's decent but forget overblows for a while. Work on the basics first: breathing, single notes, bending etc.

      @@Harmonica123 OK ty I ended up getting two hohner marine band 1896 in key of C and A major and I'm starting off right out of gate with trying too learn to get single notes tounge blocked my two uncles where 100% tounge blockers only so thought I.d be same way if I can. they played blues folk and Newfoundland and Irish music and that's why I desired on the marine band 1896 cause that's the only one they would play
