You can learn drawing by yourself without art school
@@fionamariole8816 I already know how to draw and I'm quite good at it. I also know I can look up tutorials on yt and stuff but I want to go in person it just sounds fun and I like learning and getting better at my art. No need to hate on other people for wanting to be more creative and have fun with their lives
It’s really interesting hearing you talk about elitism and I love what you said about making art for a community and if people don’t like it, maybe they just aren’t your target demographic ❤
Currently studying art in Europe and I wouldn't trade it for anything. If anyone reads this and you feel like art is for you, I say do it. Sending so much love xoxo
Just make sure don't go to Austria for art school 💀

the stuff you said ab elitism in the art world is so true😭 i’m going into art school as a freshman this year, but even before it, i worked as a docent for my local art gallery. i live 3 hours north of NYC, so we had all the rich brooklyn people coming up to look at the shows in the gallery, and they’d just be spitting out words i had never heard! and i’d feel so left out because i never had a damn clue what any of them were talking about.
13:43 omg. Thank you for the reassurance like
I go ambitious in one art, and tbh I can never create like, multiple artworks in a week LOL! So yes, thank you brett ;w;
Man! You’re so inspiring! Idk how but everything you do just seems to work out and I love how your so dedicated to your work!
wow I literally needed this video bc im going to art school and slightly scared and kind of second guessing myself as an artist but I love art and am passionate about it and I know im going to school so I can get better and improve as an artist and this video helped a LOTTT bc I needed some tips as im a little nervous about going but also excited now thanks so much for this video!
ILYY YOU GOT THIS ❤
Never going to art school but love listening to you talk about it ❤️
omg LMFAO
@@brettpaint tbh same! tho I love the tips you have cause they feel relevant as an artist outside of school.
Watched this while working out 💪
Great vid
one thing that comes to mind when anyone talks about the *meaning* behind pieces is the fact that i rarely ever have one. im never really trying to talk to an audience, my drawings never really have a message, and sometimes that makes me feel like im doing something wrong, even though i know im not. i just create art based on a color palette, composition, or something of the like that i think of and want to make, or based off of a feeling a song gives me. but i almost never incorporate any meaning or complex idea or theory or even personal experience into my art, so it just feels kind of isolating? i guess? when there's any conversation about what art should *mean* or *say*, and i feel like that lack of meaning in my art my be a hindrance in art school if everything's supposed to have some concept behind it, whether it be personal experience or theory. idk
Yes i can totally agree with u. In my opinion i think that art has different meanings and art is not something to be meant but to be created
This is soooooo relatable. My art makes me happy, no matter the subject but when i try to come up with a meaning it ruins it for me. Maybe I havent had the right inspiration or something? But like you said I think its completely okay. I’m at peace with it, its really just the people around me that ask which stresses me out. I also believe art shouldn’t have to have this huge deep unique topic to be exciting and anyone who does hasn’t chilled the heck out LOL.
i was watching part one earlier today while rushing art project dam great video tho, these stuff rlly helps me a lott
LOVE THAT
im going away to auarts at the end of this month and omg im SO SCARED but im so glad videos like this exist that i can watch beforehand

Thank uuu for the tipsss
Can you please do a video about the difference between art school and majoring in art college please🙏 btw love your vids so many good tips😊
Excellent points...
being in art school now (i’m about to start my second year) i feel like i have imposter syndrome or something. like now i’m doubting myself if i can really do this but it’s the only thing i want to do
Currently attending an art highschool and its already so crazy
ahhh you got this
I start in a couple weeks time and I’m so so excited but fr have had so many friends drop out of it
❤ artists school😊
I graduted nursing school in missouri......a year and a half ago............but......as someone who did the whole dang thang, these tips are great!! I wish I would have made more friends from a more different majors. Connections babes, connections.
Amen, whenever I don't immediately understand something meaningful to another, I literally ask myself. Am I the demographic? How can I relate this to myself? (😅without trying to make it about myself) ❤
See I need to get an art bachelors to become an art teacher even if I’d rather learn naturally
Bro, you really need to teach me how to draw
I got rejected twice from art school and really mad also I moved to Germany after that coming from an Austrian 🇦🇹 😊
Is a good choices for drawing artists
Elitism is sooo real especially when it comes to theory.
Fun
I went to a design school instead of art, not sure if that was the best decision…
I MADE IT 600 LIKESS
So maybe I study medicine. I get all the anatomy I want. One way or another 🙃
i swear, i thought that you were younger, but it so happens that you're one year older. And i feel old too ;v;
idk, i didn't expect (in a good way) you to be almost the same age
Honestly art is not super compatible with philosophy. Because, to put it bluntly, with philo you always ask “why” or “what” or “how” whereas art you might just be channeling something higher than yourself; as far as you care just focus in lines on paper.
Bro I’m only 13yr but I’m obsessed with art I have like 30 sketchbooks, got into art museums and i think im really good idec abt the mess I js wanna have fun😭😭😭
Instructions unclear: i failed art school

not me watching vicariously because I wanted to go to art school but now I'm already balls deep in medical school 🫠
