It’s really nuts to think he was 27 years old, making his major major league debut and still collecting 3000 hits that is something will probably never see you again
Ichiro should not have stayed in small Japan. I am proud that he competed with such talented players as Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson, A-Rod, and Jeter. I would like to thank the Americans from Japan.
Great video, so glad I got to watch him many times growing up in Seattle. Though, I honestly can't remember it since i was little when I watching the games, his name is always something that will be a part of my childhood.
Yes, that's right. Don't forget how he treats his bat and glove with care. A traditional Japanese sensibility that believes that things have small souls.
He is the only player who proved that even if you are not as strong or as small as other players, you can become a legend, and who gave hope to baseball-loving children all over the world.
When I started playing baseball, Ichiro was past his prime. Still, I admired him. Because of the time difference between Japan and America, during my high school days, I often checked the real-time batting results of the games on my smartphone in the mornings. I will never forget the memories of chasing the 3000-hit milestone. For me, he is the greatest baseball player and one of the irreplaceable memories of my life. Thank you, Ichiro!
That is probably one of the most overlooked things in his career. He is one of the most phenomenal hitters in MLB, yet as a position player, he was on another level. He paid attention to things that most overlooked and that upped his game. Even when he wasn't hitting like he used to, he was as solid as ever defensively.
I was lucky enough to witnessing Ichiro’s art of hitting, and also lucky to see Shohei’s power. Both in common, they just love to play the ball game. Thank you Ichiro-san!

Lovely tribute if anyone thinks they’re pandering to the Japanese or being culturally insensitive, the Japanese love when you do this stuff. This is a sign of respect.
I also love big home runs. But, 「Do you want to go in or not? Ah, It's will come in! No, Ichiro took it! !」 「It's a grounder to shortstop. Nice catch! Strong shoulders! Ichiro is fast! Which one is first base...? safe! !」 I also love the excitement of that kind of brinkmanship.
I would like to name and shame the one dude who kept this from being a unanimous selection. It's completely stupid. If Mariano deserved it (and he did), so does Ichiro. And so have many other players in baseball history who didn't get it purely because of the ego of baseball writers who don't think anyone deserves it.
Everyone here in America is mad at the one person who voted against him. Absolutely legendary player. Ridiculous that it wasn’t a unanimous vote. Thank you Japan
Barry bonds isn't the only player to run the wall catch a ball or have the ball in his glove run up the wall and throw the ball back and get a player out at third base or home plate
Only racist Mark Gooden@National Inquirer refused to vote for Ichiro for unbelievable reasons. He destroyed MLB fans in Japan and should never vote again. Why he can vote from the beginning? BS.
Only Ichiro and Cobb in the 4,000 hits and 700 stolen base club. Cobb of course playing over a century ago in an all White league, whole Ichiro played 7 full seasons in Japan, with the majority of his numbers coming in the modern day integrated MLB.
It’s really nuts to think he was 27 years old, making his major major league debut and still collecting 3000 hits that is something will probably never see you again
Don't forget the 500 stolen bags and 10 gold gloves.
And don't forget he made 10 all star appereance, rookie of the year ,2001 mvp, single season hit record and so on..@@wajahatali1234

Wow I didn't even know that! That's freaking phenomenal.
I was at his first game and we could just tell he was legendary from the start.
Ichiro Suzuki, that’s all you have to say and any baseball fan will start smilling
Simply Ichiro
My GOAT, as a Mariner fan there will never be another

one of the most fun players to watch
Dude was "the one" love this guy. He was the reason I got into baseball.
Wish i could watch his career again.
Whenever I watch his highlight reel it makes me feel happy.
He was the most fun player to watch for a long time. Absolutely beautiful tribute.
One of the greatest players to ever live! He reminds me of my childhood
Great video, so glad I got to watch him many times growing up in Seattle. Though, I honestly can't remember it since i was little when I watching the games, his name is always something that will be a part of my childhood.
Ichiro is the best. Disciplined, stoicism = that's him.

God i miss him.
Ichiro Suzuki: Once a Mariner, Always a Mariner!!!!!!!
I remember an old acquaintance telling me how proud he was to have been Ichiro's classmate.
I'm sure his hometown of Toyoyama is celebrating.

The goat being a mariners fan i cant wait for ichiro to be inducted into the mlb hall of fame he better go in unanimously
One vote shy. Whoever that one person is is delusional
Absolutely Outstanding From Start To Finish // Absolutely Loved Every Second
This was really well done.
An incredible athlete and person! Thank you for being a Mariner!
Might be the greatest player ever if you take his Japan and mlb records together.
It impressed me he ran up the wall catched the ball and get a player out at third base or home plate

Go go go go Ichiro
Rounding third and heading for home

Dave says on the radio,
“Ichiro, you’re unbelievable”
MLB Vault channel should upload some of Ichiro's career defining games in full length in HD.
This man is Ohtani Shohei's idol. Nuff said.
and Roki also. from japan
As great a hitter Ichiro was, we must not forget, the guy also had 500 stolen bags and 10 gold gloves.

Its nuts that one s2pd voter didnt give him the vote.
Ichiro deserves his 45-minute documentary not a 5 minute one
There’s another 35 minute career highlights on this channel that was put up today .
It's astounding that one person thought Ichiro wasn't worthy.
There are 3 Japanese players who saved MLB, they literally saved. Fans were moving away and they pulled them back.
Who can name those 3 saviors?

1 vote away from being unanimously in the Hall of Fame... Whoever you are, I just wanna talk.

No disrespect to Ichiro, but why Hideo Nomo is not in the hall? He paved the way for Japanese ball players to com to the MLB? 🤔
