Antique Market & Estate Sale Bring Unique Vintage to Town!

- Our little old town of Earlington, Kentucky becomes a vintage market center for one weekend a year during the Highway 41 Sale, and we're both shopping and selling!
We sneak out of our Storehouse Sale to spend a fast-paced hour shopping the West Kentucky Antique Market, a little show that already is attracting quality vintage resellers from across the state! Double the size of last year, we're finding things we've not seen at this show...or any other. Our friend Jill shows us a clever hanging candle holder, we uncover a hot nut case at a price we love from a friend doing his first true antique show, and we see a scarcities from slave-made antebellum tables to early wagon seats in this surprisingly good variety of collectibles!
We try and buy the cat's eyes, enjoy the quilts and crocks and neon clocks and cool store displays of a good Kentucky antique show, then race back to open our own Estate/Storehouse Sale for day 2. We have @147ILoveVintage , Beth Kemper from the Princeton Antique Show in Indiana and a bunch of fun guests from the TH-cam community with us, and it's busy! We sell a pile of cool paper ephemera to Mike of @WellSwung , sell a bunch of small furniture and ultimately send nearly $5000 of antique and vintage wholesale goods home with bargain hunters, viewers and resellers!
All in all, it's a pretty remarkable weekend for antique and vintage hunting in this otherwise forgotten town along Kentucky Highway 41. Can't wait to do it again!

Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
The two seat rocker is a wagon seat, made to be used in the house but you could also fit into the back of a wagon for extra seating. Also the seat is not rush but is a splint seat. Rush is twisted cat of nine tails while splint is actually made by splitting hickory or ash! Both were used in the 18th early 19th century.
Oh that's interesting! I will have to educate myself on rushing versus splinting, I think I get your drift though
Enjoyed your video ❤ thank you !

Hey George and Xeno! Wow the market looked great and the prices seemed very good. Cant wait to find out how everything went on the west coast . ❤❤❤😊

Its really awful what the slavers did to people. Agree with you its a good idea to call people enslaved people vs slaves. Glad to see you put that in the banner text.
Couldn't catch you last night so you had lunch with me today...lol. Great video!!
It was delicious!
I see a "Cassell's Drug Store" clear druggist prescription bottle (center of screen at about 8:11). That's from Lexington, Kentucky, circa 1910s. Nice aquamarine Scroll flask at 8:14! Thanks for the video!!
Cool! I like Kentucky local interest stuff, just got my first Dawson Springs water bottle

Hi george
Im bringing slip n slide
we had the fireplace when I was young but I don't think it was electric. it was just a cardboard fake fireplace.
Hey George. I thought this was going to be at 7:00pm CST, and when it wasn't I thought there might not be one, so I crashed shortly afterward. After my typical four hours of sleep 😴😩, I finally decided to get on the computer, and I see there was one 🙃 What was that chair, at 1:15, with the black leather upholstery and what looked like a drawer under the seat. That was intriguing. There was also a small doll crib, to the left, at that same timeframe that I liked. Mom would've really liked it, too. I used to have a lobster trap my aunt gave me. My aunt and uncle were antiques dealers, from Virginia Beach, VA, (among several other places), so they could get the old ones fairly easily there. I sold it when I moved here...nowhere to put it. I always wanted to make a coffee table from it. I'd love to have the table that was carved by an enslaved person. That was beautiful and extraordinarily well done! It's actually a fantastic piece of art! I want the oak showcase the Orange Crush dispenser was in 😅 There was what looked like a bamboo piece hiding behind the coffee pots, at 13:47, that caught my attention. I seriously like old rosaries. I have two antique ones, one of which is made of the Tears of Job seeds. That piano candleholder was really interesting. Never seen that before. I'd much prefer it to have been unpolished, though, with its original patina. With the prices like they were there, I'd definitely have to take a chill-pill, if I was shopping there 🤣 Everything looked to be priced really good! That tankard, with the grape motif, you have, at 21:33, really caught my eye. That is a beauty! Really nice items all the way round! Thanks for taking us along!
I didn't realize you had antique dealers in the family! Perhaps you mentioned it and I had forgotten? In any event, it explains why you have the love and interest, seems to run in your family. I don't know exactly what the function of that chair was but it was a useful design. Lobster traps are so cool, but unless you put glass on them they're hard to use as furniture! That slave carved table was amazing I thought, and that was a fine oak showcase (she drags those in every year for display). I'd never seen the candle holder either, she found it polished and wished it hadn't been but oh well. You'd have fun at this show!
@@TheAntiqueNomad There were several aunts and uncles, in my family, that were antiques dealers. I think I had mentioned it, but it was some time ago. The ones that had the shops in Virginia Beach were the ones that always told me, "Quality, quality, quality, boy! Don't you ever let us catch you buying $#!+!" 🤣 They're the ones that "cultivated" my, and my parent's, distaste for kitsch 😂 I had planned to put a glass top and small feet on the lobster trap, and use it as a coffee table, but when I moved here there was simply no room to use it. I would really liked to have that slave carved table. For me, that would be a treasure! Honestly, I think it should be in a museum.
Hi electric poodle
So time is 9pm not 7pm (?)
😅❤👋
Here I sit all by myself @ 5pm...😢
I'll try back @ 7pm
See you all soon! 😊
The present medical system in this country stinks. I don't care what they say. Those in Washington should have the same exact experience the rest of us have. We either have the same insurance system they have, or they should have the same insurance system we are subjected to. They have total coverage for themselves and their family. It is paid for by taxpayers who do not have the same privilege to secure such insurance. They are not better than us. We deserve the same insurance they have since we foot their bill.
So, a race to the bottom?
My sister is getting world class care for her cancer. I got excellent care, and my other sisters care ended up killing her.
Life isn't fair. Get over it.😢
