Actually, so a group of my friends (we are all homeschooled and go to the same church) went to a 'heaven's gates hells flames' play and I'm about 5 friends away from the guy who I'm dating (or courting i suppose i should say) and his mom is next to him and says "Ok I'm going to ask you to do something awkward." And he was like "okaaay?"
"Go sit next to *my name*" So yeah and same at church if we get split up she will tell him to come sit next to me and stuff.

Dating was seriously difficult for a while, finding the guy who would respect me and not judge me for being homeschooled. But now that I've found him, and our wedding is right around the corner, I thank God for the trials. Because it made me stronger and allowed me to be patient and find him :)

I would suggest social dancing, I dance Salsa and within 2 months months of classes and my second party, a girl set her sights on me. She said I'm one of the best dancers she's ever danced with because I'm so gentle and respectful instead of forceful and sexually invasive. Social dancing such as Salsa and Tango are exactly where homeschoolers can make the most of their "soft" personality, it becomes their most powerful attraction force. Also, there's an average of 17 girl to 2 guys so men just need to show up and they're smothered hahaha we're a rare resource ;)
Curious as to why homeschoolers have a soft personality? Never heard that before. The dancing is a good idea in general though, wether you’re homeschooled or not.

Wellllll. I cant say if dating as a homeschooler is awkward because this is my senior year. I was private Christian schooled until like fourth grade, then the rest of the time I’ve been homeschooled. I’m about to graduate here next month. Not one single date😂. Homeschooler Dating can’t be awkward if you were never asked out in the first place 🤷🏼♀️😂

I actually didn't date non- homeschoolers until I was in college. I did actually marry a person who wasn't homeschooled which is funny because he has asked me before why I don't fit the stereotype. I was so confused at first but apparently I am supposed to be shy and not know anything about the real world.

Don’ Frecess I’m homeschooled and an atheist so that one was weird to me too. Christian families do make up most of the homeschooling population in the US. Although secular homeschooling numbers are growing pretty fast too.

No idea. For the brand of homeschooling Messy Monday's represents, education and faith are closely intertwined to form a unique culture that is difficult to understand from an outside perspective. Part of what makes this kind of homeschool dating so awkward is the added faith stipulations. You know how Jesus said, "my burden is light?" He wasn't talking about modern evangelicalism

Nope, my first two gfs were homeschooled, we met at co-op and a homeschooling event. I ’m a military brat and both of those were when we lived in bigger cities, so there were more secular homeschoolers around. Met my current gf at the library. We both volunteer there.
