Oh my GOD I watched so much TV during these years, watching this was an absolute time machine. The commercials is when I would let my mind wander… so many memories came back from watching these.
right, all you see to day are insurance, medicare /medicade , exercise equipment commercials ,drug commercials. you the know the world is going in the wrong direction when even the commercials were better back then .
The Italian Hamburger Helper commercial with the Helping Hand sporting a mustache, speaking and singing with an Italian accent would now result in million dollar lawsuits and widespread butthurt!
Smoking seems like a weird thing to be nostalgic for truth be told. Like leaded gasoline or asbestos in your walls. I sure as hell don't plan on getting nostalgic about the microplastics filling my body right now.

I do like modern times better but there was definitely something magical about the 80s. It’s easier to travel the world now due to so much information…..However if you traveled to another country back in the 80s it felt more surprising and there was a bigger sense of mystery to it which in some ways enhanced the experience
Born 1980. We were born during the calm of the century. Right before free love which was also bad ass btw but very hectic and right before the 90s Era when things would start to change drastically. The 80s was so simple. Im proud to be an 80s baby.
I was born in 96 and feel connected to the 90s... Hell, I think the 90s lasted until about 2006. People dressed the same, there were smoking sections in restaurants, we had VHS, NES, and listened to 80s and 90s music.
I actually saw an oil of Olay empty container at my grandmothers house I asked why did she keep it and she said she kept it because it was a small piece of her best time in life while she was still some what young My grandmother is 52 I’m 13 btw and I honestly wish I was born in the 80’s it just seemed so fun and wholesome back then
I was born in the 70s, a child in the 80s, and I’m a big fan of BTS! I noticed your name and profile picture and just thought I’d comment. Yes, the 80s were wholesome and fun, and I miss them very much. But although we did have New Kids on the Block, we didn’t have BTS! I’d rather have BTS. 😁💜
It was amazing and better compared to now. I was born in 80 and I remember everything feeling so much safer and secure. People were nicer, the holidays were magical, and overall it just a wholesome time and place.
R.c. was great. My bf's mom always sent us to the store (located about a 2 minute walk from her house) to get a 2 liter of R.C. and it was just as good. Coke-- too strong and fizzy, I preferred Pepsi and R C is a good alternative.
It’s funny how I will record shows so I can fast forward the commercials but then come on TH-cam to watch old commercials. I grew up in the 90s and early 2000s but I watched so many of those commercials that this was recommended to me on TH-cam... and it was very enjoyable.
What I miss the most about 70s and 80s commercials even though I wasn't alive for most of them, are the ones where they all seem to like get together and sing in a choir. Like the Bank One one. There was a lot of jingle choir singing in that era and it was always catchy and sounded really good. Now everything's like Auto-Tune or terrible rock in ads.

This reminds me of the past, growing up, enjoying life. People smiled and were kind. Now days when I see people or speak to them it's like the lights are on but nobody is home or they just have an unnecessary attitude. We all know now that everything we see, hear and live in daily is so full of hatred and spite but we also know who is responsible. I had a conversation the other day about how bad things are as an American and that there is no escape, no where else to go. I wish there was a channel that showed some of those tv weeknight movies instead of some of these networks that only show the same thing over and over again

I’m from 92 but I was raised on 70s and 80s nostalgia. Parents are from 67-69. I feel like I love this stuff at least almost as much as people who were there. I just want to pray that people stay safe and take care of themselves. Be good to your families. If you are watching you are blessed.
Thank you for that!
Very nice thank you. You too!
I grew up loving commercials my whole life. They don't make them like that anymore. I miss them!!!❤❤❤❤
Oh my GOD I watched so much TV during these years, watching this was an absolute time machine. The commercials is when I would let my mind wander… so many memories came back from watching these.
I remember seeing these on TV. Never occurred to me that I'd actually get old
I think it's kinda ironic that we're all here watching 80's commercials to "go back in time" and there's an ad for a freaking delorean.
these are so relaxing, not like today where everything makes you on edge

Where are the class action lawsuit commercials? Where are the medicine commercials? Oh that’s right, it’s the 80’s!
right, all you see to day are insurance, medicare /medicade , exercise equipment commercials ,drug commercials. you the know the world is going in the wrong direction when even the commercials were better back then .

The Italian Hamburger Helper commercial with the Helping Hand sporting a mustache, speaking and singing with an Italian accent would now result in million dollar lawsuits and widespread butthurt!
@@lmckrosen123 Yes, you've accurately described what's wrong with our world now!
@@mikekrause3671 Totally agree. My guess is that advertisers don't think anyone under age of 60 still watches tv on a tv.
The 'Kellogg's frosted mini wheats' commercial is so cute ❤🌞
Who remembers going to a restaurant & being asked, "smoking or non-smoking?"
And smoking on an airliner
Smoking seems like a weird thing to be nostalgic for truth be told. Like leaded gasoline or asbestos in your walls. I sure as hell don't plan on getting nostalgic about the microplastics filling my body right now.
@@Bundor Is it really uptight to find people getting nostalgic over things that used to kill them bizarre?
@@Bundor Preachy? I'm just saying smoking and leaded gas is bad. When did this become a controversial opinion?
@@kryonight2869Ever read the warning that comes with your cell phone? Dr. Robert O. Becker, now deceased, wrote some books about the dangers of cell phone towers, antennas, low level microwaves. Not high enough to heat tissue doesn't necessarily equal 'safe'. He thought it was the biggest and most dangerous experiment ever done on mankind as every cell in our body vibrates at low frequency.
Vincent Price as a polar bear selling wine coolers? That's the 80's for you 😂
It's weird I don't remember that brand of wine cooler but when they played the jingle it sounded familiar 😃

Yup when I think wine coolers I think polar beers, Vincent price and horror. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

I loved everything about the 80's,even the commercials.
These old commericals starts to make me cry. I wasn't born in a 80s I'm 14
They just sometimes used the song that I heard in a long time. Thanks.
Well , start living now . Research the past and figure out how to colonize the moon . Just sayin . Can't let china beat us -
@Linux Hater... I feel that.
During the 60's, you had a lot of cigarette ads. The 70's and 80's were the best because the technology got way better but you didn't yet have all the duplication, ads between the quarter hour, the lawyer ads and prescription drugs every other minute.
The 80's is also when cable TV came along and in Los Angeles, we went from about 15 channels, to more than 60. PLUS MTV ACTUALLY PLAYED VIDEOS!
Life was simple back then .
There was no internet
There was no Facebook
There were no Cell Phones

I do like modern times better but there was definitely something magical about the 80s. It’s easier to travel the world now due to so much information…..However if you traveled to another country back in the 80s it felt more surprising and there was a bigger sense of mystery to it which in some ways enhanced the experience
I was born in 81 and all that I can say is that these were happy times… 😁
Inflation, Aids, coke... good times
These commercials are much classier than those of today.
That's exactly what I was JUST telling my wife. Most of the commercials today are risque, impudent or just plain nonsense.
3:56 Nowadays that would be called sexual attacks or even rape.
Rob Axl Unfortunately you are right and I’d be “guilty”.
I... wouldn't consider any commercial "classy", lol. The term "boob tube" was coined around this era, if that tells you anything.

Born 1980. We were born during the calm of the century. Right before free love which was also bad ass btw but very hectic and right before the 90s Era when things would start to change drastically. The 80s was so simple. Im proud to be an 80s baby.
Watching these commercials take me back to a time I wish to travel back to 🤩 Thanks for sharing.
OMG, this is amazing ... I'm right back home again.
Was born in Christmas of 86', even though I don't remember the era I totally feel connected to it and love it.
I was born in 96 and feel connected to the 90s... Hell, I think the 90s lasted until about 2006. People dressed the same, there were smoking sections in restaurants, we had VHS, NES, and listened to 80s and 90s music.
I was born in 1980 and still can feel the essence of the 70s as if I were there. It carries over. Good thing too.
@@jameeware1707 Didn't the 80's have a lot of serial killers? I'm no expert on security but I don't think that's very secure

I read this thinking you were going to say your grandmother was like 85. lol.
The Mercury Sable commercial had me belly laughing 😆
The 80s Pepsi Coca cola Wars. I was on the down low drinking RC cola 😂
I loved Tab!!
R.c. was great. My bf's mom always sent us to the store (located about a 2 minute walk from her house) to get a 2 liter of R.C. and it was just as good. Coke-- too strong and fizzy, I preferred Pepsi and R C is a good alternative.
Yeah ok! 😊
Take me back to the 80s!!
@n33dless yes
im coming w you
It’s funny how I will record shows so I can fast forward the commercials but then come on TH-cam to watch old commercials.
I grew up in the 90s and early 2000s but I watched so many of those commercials that this was recommended to me on TH-cam... and it was very enjoyable.
I remember some of them ads now that I’m 34 years old thanks for making me too remember them ads again
I would give anything to go back to the 80s. I remember so many of these commercials 😢
I remember these, it definitely brings back memories
For a second, I started to look for the vertical and horizontal hold knobs on my phone... Roflmao!
That's for the live broadcast. If you're watching it on a recorded VHS you gotta get the tracking right.
VHF and UHF
When it switches to today's commercials and you hear a website, like wait, there wasn't internet back then
I miss being a kid in the 80s, going to Wildwood in the summer
The boardwalk!

I was born in 1976. 4 years later I would get to live in the best decade ever. These commercials are a great example of that!. I remember quite a lot of them and it’s funny how much better they were than the ones on tv now.
I totally remember most of these and can sing along to the jingles. The world was so much simpler and better back then.

I'm getting that vibe too
Randomly I started to sing the Mrs. Smith pie commercial from 1986, so I decided to remince on my youth and search out 80's commercials. Thanks for the hour long video!
It’s remarkable how many ads Peter Thomas (Forensic Files) voiced over. May God rest his soul. Loved every minute of this.

We are all stuck on this sinking ship with the ones that shot holes into the hull. I hope everyone watching these videos and reading the comments enjoys their memories because those are the things that no one can ever take away, Be at peace, my friends.

I was thinking the exact same thing as I pressed "skip commercial" lol
I hate it when a modern era ad shows up when I'm enjoying nostalgia like this.. It's like the 21st century is trying to intrude when I'm watching the 1980s era ads in order to escape the modern era times
