I talked to my Dad tonight, he's getting older. Mom passed a few years back. My older brother passed about a decade ago. I miss the old house where these old commercials played in a care-free time. I miss what was, never to be seen again. Good memories. My children live these memories now.

@@buffalove9634 I think they just seemed like simpler times if you were a kid then because you weren't aware of the problems of the world, just the ones right outside your door. We didn't have the internet or 24-hour news cycles so we weren't exposed to as much in a lot of ways. Everything we did wasn't considered harmful. Adults smoked right in your face; grandparents would offer you wine at family gatherings even though you were only 10. And the things that did happen were our own fault- if a child ate laundry detergent, it was because mom didn't put it away or the kid was an idiot, it wasn't Tide's fault. I broke my tailbone on a Slip n Slide- my mom didn't sue Wham-O, she just told me I had to be more careful. We were less obsessed with consequences.

Being alive in the 80's is what makes this so damned fun to watch. Combine that with being a child in the 80's and this is just a warm hug for sure. Takes me back to times in my life that may never ever be bested. Just like visiting a video store and renting videos after having a pizza on a Friday night. Or hanging out at a mall arcade playing video games. Or the days when the whole family sat down together to watch a sitcom with family values and hilarious premises.

That bumper for Cosby, Family Ties, Cheers and Night Court....Thursdays were great. A nice hot dinner, A lovely beverage and a barrel of laughs. And after that came L.A. Law, which was my BIG show for the week. I'd usually tape it so I could watch it again later because it always got me and my brothers talking and taking sides in whatever case was on that week, and that talking sometimes got loud and animated! I miss that. Then Channel 4 News at 11, and after that, more laughs with Johnny and Dave. My brothers and I still get together from time to time, but it ain't the same as those Thursday nights in front of the tube with the Huxtables, the Keatons, the Cheers and Night Court gangs, McKenzie-Brackman, and Johnny & Dave. Thanks NBC.

This reminds me of the past, growing up, enjoying life. People smiled and were kind. Now days when I see people or speak to them it's like the lights are on but nobody is home or they just have an unnecessary attitude. We all know now that everything we see, hear and live in daily is so full of hatred and spite but we also know who is responsible. I had a conversation the other day about how bad things are as an American and that there is no escape, no where else to go. We are all stuck on this sinking ship with the ones that shot holes into the hull. I hope everyone watching these videos and reading the comments enjoys their memories because those are the things that no one can ever take away, Be at peace, my friends.
