I’ve been maining this deck for a month. Optimizations: Trade Fan Rotom for Cleffa for early draw and free retreat. Trade radiant Charizard for Greninja. Greninja gives you way more draw and the Dodrios can be your late game attackers. They can hit for even more than Zard in the late game. I find that Hero’s cape is a great Ace spec for the deck cause it allows one of your Scovillains to tank a hit and become unstoppable. Rigid band also helps. I fully committed to 4/4 Arven/Iono. Use Arven when you need pieces, and use Iono as much as possible in the late game for disruption. I find this deck is tricky to setup at times but when it pops off it can come from behind and steal games!
100% agree. Rode with this badboy to the arcaeus league, although I kind of got a little bored of trading so many wins and losses 😅 However yes, the changes you mentioned are great, and I want to try a 1-2 line of frosslass because getting that initial damage can be quite hard and I don't like pumping it off of my dodrios... Just not sure about the fan rotom, don't you like the occasional early pressure it offers? Even the hero's cape is so underrated here, it became my ace spec of choice too 🙌 However did you think about playing a single colress? It just seems without the secret box I have been known to miss out on my magma basins in crucial moments Also do you play fez?
@ I had thought of Frolass but I use all abilities so it damages everything too quickly, against Dragapult it really puts you at a disadvantage. Yeah I like to use Cleffa to get early card draw because set up is so important, I find it to more advantageous than early damage as this deck doesn’t really need to soften up pokemon as it’s really an OHKO deck like Raging bolt. Yeah I do find I wiff on Magma basin at times so I like the Colress idea, thx for the suggestion! Yeah I find hero’s cape to be great insurance in the deck, and yes I do use Fez, but I discard it in the matches where it’s a liability 😁
this was funnnn! When I first started TCG Live a few months back, one of the first few decks that I love was the Hisuian Zoroark+Dodrio combo. I love the attack with damage counter multiplier. Now that the new rotation is coming up, this might be a fun alternative!
I'm just getting back into the game after 17 years. This will be the first deck i will play. I'm just worried how it will fair post rotation since im assuming we are losing all the yellow border cards. And what i could possibly replace them with.
Very fun and simple deck to pilot, highly recommend :) Don't worry about rotation too much, we still have 2 sets coming so it's hard to guess how the meta will look. However as a scovillain superfan (actually ordered singles separately to build this deck irl) I would recommend going for the gardi, bolt, lost box/roaring moon, pult or charizard if you actually want to win and that worries you 😢
@ winning isn’t the main cause but I would still like to be able to play the deck post rotation and worst comes to worse I can always go to eevee.dek if the deck becomes unplayable or too tri-hard. Thanks for the advice anyway.
The first turn seems like a bit of a missplay, wouldn't the optimal move be ultra for fan rotom -check how many doduo, dodrios you have and if there's a 3rd dodrio in deck (which it was) get the rotom -ultra ball away one of the dodrios and the damage pump (although I think we might need it) to get a capsakid or a doduo ideally Then iono the dodrio away to get 6 fresh cards -and then use the fan rotom ability to guarantee 2 dodrios on the 2nd turn as well as the 6 cards you have in your hand... Plus the 3rd dodrio is always a night stretcher away in a pinch, I started looking at the discard as a bit of a side deck soth enough night stretchers in play... Just a thought from playing this deck and a very very similar build for a while
@@def1695good idea, doesn't work 😂 The next rotation is coming with the next main set, so even though we know a bit about the prismatic evolutions meta that's coming with Budew, we have no idea about the Journey together set coming after, and that will be the one actually impactful on the meta. Something like N's Zoroark will be played as much as charizard ex post rotation is my guess .. Tldr: enjoy the current meta and playing decks while you still can, I don't think you can prepare early for rotation
I choose to try to look at it as a tanky one prizer and an easy night stretcher target later on haha :( However especially with this build it's deadly 😂
@@solismax65 yeah I feel like Rad Zard isn’t a great choice for the deck but rather Rad Greninja is better for draw. Dodrios can be great one prize attackers
Hello! Speaking of slightly underrated decks, I've been playing Festival Lead Dipplin and I would love to see your take on that deck. Would you consider doing a video about it? Its really powerful when you get it set up but struggles with consistency and drawing the cards you need. Thanks the videos!
@@peterstrianus1790 Whats your deck list? Any strategy tips? The deck is so much fun but I find it to be really inconsistent. You either get a great first hand and your up and running second turn or you get a brick first hand and cant get going at all. I've been playing with different items and supporters but cant find a good combination.
Same question, I really lack consistency with the deck even though it's one of the most fun to play. Also I've been salivating to try and use crisis punch or evolution wirh dipplin, trying to sacrifice an early 2nd attack for a turbo energize to power up a crisis punch attacker, something like an origin forme diplin 😂 I have been using it to play against new players, especially friends who have very old decks and are just getting back into the game, it was especially fun against a fire deck of my friend, custom-built but around bw era 😂
The problem with poison is that the damage doesn’t take into effect until after your turn ends. At that point, you’re just making it a bit easier for your opponent yo KO Scovillain.
Worst feeling man 😂 I lost some games doing 3-5k damage to a deck doing like 750 total to me 😂 But as a gardi player I'm used to doing exactly the damage I need so I know it doesn't really matter haha
I don't fully understand type weakness, Why at 11:35 did Radiant Charizard only take 170 instead of 340 because of type weakness. Is it because Greninja is a fighting type using a water move?

Magma basin is being rotated too so....
@ That and Damage Pump too.
@@rejectminority yup. with those 2 going away this deck going to be harder to energize.
why double weakness xD the card says is only weak to water jajaja
yeah, that is weird. the legend cards immediately came to mind when i saw your comment, since they had both weaknesses visible on the card.
My bad it’s just water
A bit funny with a plant being week to water imo :)
My first thought too
Lost to this in locals. Man. This deck is insane
I've pulled so many now. I guess i should build a deck out of it. Could be fun at the local.

I'm here to learn of all the ways to put damage on yourself that will also stay after next rotation.

Try adding surging sparks victini because it's ability says: your evolution fire type Pokémon do 10 more damage to your opponent's active pokemon
The obsidian flames capsakid does ten damage to itself so that one would be the best with this new scovillain ex

Yes, it’s about the Pokémon type, not about the energy the move needs
The greninja does 170 damage for his first attack
To be fair it is confusing since the videogames are literally the opposite; the user's type doesn't matter, only the move type
