Keith was that guy who slipped right into line with the greats, his cover of Vern Gosdin’s “Would these arms be in your way” just blew me away. As a Keith fan since the 80’s when he did this episode it was clear he was a legend in the making. Miss Keith so much.🎶
I'm sure alot of todays country singers look up to Keith Whitley He did not have a bad song Just about ever song he had went in the top 10 Thirty years later and his music is still the most requested on radio
@@johncalhoun3204 yeah, cool John. I lived in Clarksville near the KY border for a decade or so. You’re not by any chance talking about Hopkinsville, are you?
Believe it or not I remember seeing this when it aired. I was a big Nashville Now fan and watched it faithfully. This was a good one and the one I saw with Gary Puckett was good as well. I miss TNN
He ended up pulling the "new album" he talks about in this interview. He then went back into the studio with a new producer and cut the classic Don't Close Your Eyes.
He didn't like many of the songs, so he changed producers and cut some new ones (some of the ones that would go to number one) but did keep "Would These Arms Be In Your Way' and 'Some Old Side Road'
I worked security on the set of Nashville Now - does anybody know where Mike Chamberlain is these days? I remember him from the Maverick Club in Richmond KY
Ralph should have known Keith's band was Miami from Miami My Amy and secondly he can't even get the sing title Miami My Amy right? Unprofessional Ralph

@@susiehallman1692 The perm and the suntanning bed, he was your 80's kinda guy. If he would have just slowed down on the partying, he'd still be here today spinning tunes and playing guitar. Probably would still be playing some bluegrass as well. He could have completely reversed his course and put down the bottle.
He could sing just about any type of music. Bluegrass, slow songs, and fast country songs. He is one of the best ever

Why was the original version of Don’t Close Your Eyes changed? The songs he mentioned weren’t on that album. Can someone help me with that info?
