    I purchased a Hobonichi Techo after your review last year, and am using every day at work, it helps me focus ! However, given the paper is 52gsm TR, I'm using it with a fountain pen, I would consider it a waste to write with a ballpoint or rollerball on such a good quality paper.

    When I was kid I have used so many side button tiktok pens. They were of plastic. I kept those as my memory. Ten years back I moved to Delhi for jobs. Unfortunately after my movement my mother gifted all my collection (extremely vintage too) as a gift to poor guys without knowing the importance of those pen. I miss them all. After watching this tactile pen, all the memories are in front of my eyes.
    2) the 2nd leather bag which you show at last I like that too. It's good.
    BTW how are you carrying all this stuff on your day to day life. There are a lot of things you use daily.

    My brown leather items I like scuffed and used-looking, but my black ones I like almost pristine. I don’t know why that is. You seem to like both types as well.

    Great review David! Thank you so much for the spread sheets. They are very extensive and I appreciate you making them available to whoever wants to utilize them. I have a spread sheet for all of the pens and inks I own and I know how time consuming it can be to design them. The learning curve using Excel can take hours to master and I am totally in the beginning stages as it is not something I use elsewhere. Thanks again!

    Really a fun video. I totally geek'd out on it. At the intro you identify one of the big problems with carrying stuff around and trying to use Fountain Pens. It's more hassle, because you have to make sure you have enough ink for long writing sessions, and you have to test the pen first before you go out, to ensure it's writing today, some are more fussy than others, and you have to find the right portable paper. Myself, I have tried so many combos and I still have to fuss a bit to get it together and out the door. There are so many variables, where will I be, for how long? Will there be a good table with privacy? Do I carry a standard size, what fits in my bag? How much do I have to walk before I sit because I can't lug a giant bag all over. Some people have their poop together on this always using the same things all the time, some, like me just don't. I like variety, but there is something about tried and true. Do you ever carry a man-purse or something, cuz you can't put it all in your pockets. :)

    Very nice items. I own a Galen A5 folio, the green one. Absolutely love it though it was not cheap. Like your work organizing system: write down what is to do and move everything you did not manage this day to the next day. Like bullet journaling, just... more effektive and less colorful ;-)

    Daily, and hobby journaling will bring some analogue handwriting to your day to record ideas & thoughts in a carry with my pens. I go with a Galen Iron Horse 3-pen zipper holder, plus smaller journal book + composition book. Personal use only, so the bleedthrough is minimal with a Japanese F nib, and does not bother me, given I spent no large fortune on paper with the $1 price tag.

    I'm really debating picking up one of those Galen Folios. I often wish to carry more than one pen to work with me and am always finding myself in need of a sharpie or other marker. The extra pen storage would really be handy, plus it would be nice to carry a Rhodia #16 so I always have good paper with me at work. Have you found it to be on the tight side? That is a common complaint I have seen, that once you put pens and a notepad in, it becomes difficult to close.

    • @judyanderson1329
      @judyanderson1329 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a Galen Portfolio and I love it. I found at the beginning it was a little tight but it always closed. I have 5 pens , A5 book for notes and the Esterbrook Bee to hold the pages down. It also has room for credit cards, stickers, and a small flip pad. It is a worthwhile investment!
