I really do think Tom Brady would be an *amazing* offensive coordinator. Might take a couple of years to get up to speed, might not, but everything I've seen out of the guy says he'd be a good coach.
Probably start as a QB coach for a year or two then go offensive coordinator.

@UnexpectedWonder yes they were expected to be at the bottom of a loaded afc east, not the bottom of the NFL. The losses are somewhat expected, but they have not been competitive in the last 2 games, and they gave up.
I’m with James Jones on this one, NE defense last year wasn’t bad. His time in NE should be done, but if he can find a way to get to the Chargers with someone like Herbert I think it would be great. Imagine BB with Khalil Mack & Joey Bosa, it would also help Herbert somehow because schematically BB is a nightmare for young QBs. Ideally you will just want to pair him with a more creative younger OC ( let see how Kellen Moore does). I wanted an offensive coach to develop Herbert, but I realize there are many ways to develop him and adding a BB could help especially when you think about the division they’re in with KC ( and their offensive juggernaut).
McDaniels is still a possibility, depending on how this season goes for the Raiders

I was unsure about Shady when this new format began because I thought that he was unprofessional - but now I love him on here!
He started off that way with Dave and whatever happened to Dave? but after that he settled in and is ok now so far. He just have to get his thoughts out better. He talks so fast he stumbles over his words. but he got way better than when he first started.
Shady, it’s this simple. The coach is the leader. The leader is always responsible for successes and failures. He is equally responsible for the Super Bowl wins as he is for the recent performance. Period. This Brady vs Belichick conversation is nonsense.
People forget Belichick was one of the worst coaches in the league and was projected to be fired at the end of the season, if not before, before being gifted with the GOAT, even then it wasn't really his call, he had to, the only "decision" was to stick with Brady, a choice any peewee coach would have done, the kid was breathing life into the organization and was Bill's only chance to remain relevant. He even had the highest paid QB at the time, who had been a #1 pick, and was STILL losing. He owes everything to Brady but his ego wouldn't accept it. He'd have been out of the league years ago if he had been anywhere else.
This isn’t fair to Bill. He was the hottest coach in the NFL for a decade before HE decided to go to the Pats. He also coached the second best defense in NFL history, the best offense in NFL history, and kept a locker room culture that clown squads like the Bears can only dream of.
BUT. The game has passed him by. His hubris - two unproven sons on staff is just one example - has become intolerable. His media appearances are no longer niche memes. He’s an old, broken coach just like Landry… the guy he desperately wants to beat in wins. Bill is putting himself above this team by continuing to coach. And that’s not the Patriot Way.
True facts look at his record with browns and on top of that look at coaches like Phil Jackson who won titles or at least have winning record and make playoffs without superstar on team like mj in Chicago or Shaq in la

@@jaystank3777 There's a lot to agree with here. I supposed I'd push back on his defensive pedigree. We've seen how stout defenses boost an offense - consider the current Niners - it allows them to be more aggressive. Same with a great offense for the defense.
Also, I've had enough of "culture" being used as an excused for a hard-headed, "old-school", admittedly dictatorial approach. We've seen in the college game and increasingly in the pros how players want someone they can relate to, not someone who talks down to them. Where's it writ that you can't be good AND someone players want to be around? I'd go so far as to say, that the two don't work together, you have to be even better for players to put up with this. I'm an Eagles fan. I'm not a fan of Bill Belichick. Let me say that clearly. I don't like the man. However, a lot of people didn't like Andy Reid. "Playoff choke artist." Even though I thought Andy was a great coach. People thought Andy's time was up. Andy went to the Chiefs and completely turned that narrative on it's head. He just needed to get out of Philadelphia. Actually, Belichick's defenses were 7th, 2nd, and 11th in points allowed before this year. So, they were pretty good. All he needs is a good GM and O coordinator if he leaves NE.
I think this year besides the defensive injuries the patriots defense is still top 15 maybe 10. Just tired and the offense puts the defense in bad situations. Kinda like Tampa before Brady got there.
Why does no one point out that he has two superbowl rings outside of his time with the patriots. The man still has more superbowl rings than Brady. He has more superbowl rings than anyone in the entire NFL history. He also holds the record for most superbowl appearances. If the story is that he's a sub average coach (this years take) without Tom, and not an average coach without Tom-- then I think going to another team and being average for a while would put him back in the "average without Tom" category. Which would be better than being a poor coach without Tom imo. At least you can say "Bill is a .500 coach, but when he has an amazing talent at QB (Tom), look at he can do." That's what I think he should go out on. Will it happen, not likely. I don't see another team taking on his ego-- but that would be the better of two lows.

Brady / Belichick was a great combo. He was hardcore and lead them to 9 Super Bowls. 2 with Giants as def coach, 1 Patriots SB loss as def coach. He is a great coach. Brady won with a good Bucks team. Brady won with great defenses in NE. He helped develop Brady. If tuck didn’t happen, they may not have made the SN. We will never know.

People are fooled about Brady. Before Brady they were good. Brady goes down for most of two seasons and the production doesn’t go down. The coaching was elite for that time but also people forget the defense was amazing as well.
Everyone always giving Brady the credit when his defense has helped him so much over his career. When Brady was with the Buccaneers his defense in the playoffs was the reason they won. I mean in the championship Brady threw 3 interceptions.

It especially doesn't make sense to compare their careers apart the way many doing it.
Coaching/GM and QB are totally different challenges.
Teams take time to rebuild, it's often hit or miss when it comes to personnel and forming a good team.
There were 10 years between 2004 and 2014 to return and win their 4th SB. (Maybe Bill just needs another 10 years?)
Replacing an all time great QB is obviously difficult, maybe/probably impossible, especially within just a few years.

So we just going to dismiss Macs unbelievable rookie season with Josh McDaniels. Tbh Bill O’Brien isn’t a very good OC that’s why Brady never meshed with O’Brien when he was OC in the early 2000s. Give Mac a younger OC like Kellen Moore or Mike McDaniel and watch him thrive.
