I am never happier when I watch these videos, because most equestrian TH-camrs are from England, or other countries. We need more of us Irish equestrians! Something I can relate to, riding in the rain :)
Dali is showing his true colours, he is loyal to a fault, he trying nature shows in every way, his jumping is coming on beautifully and a lot of this is down to the excellent teachings that you have given him. Your smile couldn't have been any bigger if you had won the lottery, you were bursting with pride, well done both of you 🐱
Great video - your horses look amazing. Dali shows such promise & class. Your Dad is also such a star😊 - so supportive (& clearly proud of both horse & daughter). Love your channel.
What an amazing horse.... when you started the first class, I actually paused the video so I could show Dali to my husband. Your Dad is such a trooper as well! Well done, Holly!
OMG!! The second round he was popping over them like a superstar!! And in the pouring rain!! He was so careful!! All your hard work is paying off!! Both of you look amazing!!
I love his head and face. His eye shows good sense. The benefits of living out are that he doesn’t consider this weather unusual. Same old, same old it to him.
Double clear for his 2nd show: WOOT WOOT WOOT -- Dali is an up and coming superstar. And your Dad is so funny. He almost lost track of you in the 2nd round. Dali is so very impressive (of course you are too).
Dali is so careful! I think my horse would try to kill me if she had to jump in that rain, he did amazingly! So calm and focused, and you rode him like a champ. Such a great pair :D
So lovely to watch. Dali taking you to the jump!! Even when it was gushing down rain, you can see Dali would rather be anywhere else but jumping that course, but he listened very well to you. Looked great Holly!! Best Regards from Ontario, Canada, Jenn
You are so fun to watch! So positive, always smiling. And your dad too - just makes me smile along! Nicely done Dali!! (Ha, lashing rain...it’s pouring rain in the US.). 🤣
Fantastic job, both of you. Dali was ace, despite the weather. Am very tempted to start a drinking game with your complaints about the rain in videos, Holly, but you still did brilliantly, despite it almost being a swimming competition rather than show jumping
Great clip Holly your Dads a trip and Dali is so laid back he did very well looking forward to seeing Khal hope you enjoy a nice hot soak in the bath after all that rain. Tfs.😎
@@HollyLenahanSJ that would be lovely!i live near slievnamon (sorry if i spell that wrong i'm crap at spelling) so we don't get too much sun but we still get loads
Great second show for Dali!! You and your dad made the best of that lashing rain😅 We don’t use that term much in Ontario, Canada, but I knew what you meant🤣
This year I lived in Maynooth as my Erasmus and my dream was to ride there in the competition team. My hip injury got so bad, however, that I couldn't and now I'm not gonna be able to ride in Ireland until I definetedly move there.... have loads of fun and hope to meet you someday in the Dublim show!!
I love watching you with your horses. I agree that Dali is going to be something special with more time and maturity. You do a great job. Thank your dad for explaining "lashing" rain. I thought I knew what y'all meant but I'm glad I was right with my assumption.
GO Holly! But please, please tell TH-cam that I am not getting alerts of new videos from you, and l'm a premium member! So I have to hunt every day to find your videos! Oh, and I've been training all my life (I'm 61 now) and you and Dali have something special I've rarely seen, a special "something". I'm jealous!, I've never had that honor.
Dali is gorgeous! I can’t believe how fast he came together! You did an awesome awesome job with this one. Too bad we didn’t get to see Khal, thought. Do you know why the show was canceled?
I commented this on your last video but I was a week late sooo here are my questions hopefully you will see this So I am going to be breeding my mare and I was just wondering if there where any extra shots she needs or if she needs her feed changed we currently feed grass hay and some senior feed as all my horses are on the older side the mare has been bred by her past owners and is very responsive to male horses Thanks Holly
Depending on where you live, it might be recommended to give her certain vaccinations during her pregnancy. But this is something to discuss with your vet as they can recommend what will suit your individual mare ☺️
I have a question. I don’t really know much about horse tack and I was wondering my some bridles have one throat latch and yours looks like it has 2? What is it?
She actually has just one throat latch, but she has a noseband with a flash on it that makes it look like two. The flash keeps the bit in place :) It’s the strap closest to his nostril
Thanks! As I was saying in this video, this wasn’t a registered show, it was a schooling show. So all the clear rounds technically get “first place”. Next weekend I’ll be at a registered show so I may have some placings to share with you then ☺️
I'm in Northern Ireland and "it's Lashin rain" is was very common term but the second she said it I realised that so many people probably don't kno what it means
I saw you wearing a UCD sweatshirt in one of your videos from last year- do/did you go there? I'm applying to grad school programs in Ireland and the UK this year and looking at UCD's equine science program! I'm in the USA right now
Yes, I just graduated this year ☺️ I did veterinary though so can’t attest for the equine science course. The campus and other students are brilliant though, I absolutely loved my time there!
@@HollyLenahanSJ Thank you! You probably don't know the answer to this, but how easy is it for graduates of schools in Ireland to get visas to live/work there? I went to Dublin for a weekend when I was abroad in Vienna and absolutely loved it. I was actually taking an Ireland Equine Industry course but our trip got cancelled due to the pandemic. My friend is starting vet school at UCD in the fall!
Aww I saw even before this vlog went out that the show you and khal were meant to go to tomorrow was cancelled and I was disappointed FOR you for some reason 🤔😂
Thank you! But he’s not strong enough yet to teach him flying changes. They’re quite a difficult thing to master and I find a lot of people teach them a bit too early and then horses tend to rush them as they find them stressful :)
I am never happier when I watch these videos, because most equestrian TH-camrs are from England, or other countries. We need more of us Irish equestrians! Something I can relate to, riding in the rain :)

Can’t believe how impressive Dali is! He’s a credit to you. I love all the horses but Dali is just something else, he’s gonna be mega! 🥰
Thank you!!
Your dad is such a legend!

Thank you ☺️

Very true, the rain is nothing to him! ☺️

Thank you! ❤️
Oh what a trooper Dali is... the slightest hint of rain, my apparently big bold eventer turns his arse to the weather and plants!
Your dad is the best 😄
Another brilliant vlog! Just love your horses.
I love when your dad is in the vlog😂😂
you are doing so well with Dali! he is looking amazing 😆
Holly....do you realize how fancy that Dali is? Every time I watch him my mouth drops. ❤️
Dali has such a dreamy canter! He’s going to be something great! You’ve done a phenomenal job, so kudos goes to you! He’s improved so fast!
Thank you! I love his canter 😍
Im in love with Dali. Beautiful!

aww he put so much effort into the .90m class!! that must be hard to ride, one of my horses jumps a bit similarly.
Not really that hard, way too much fun actually! 😍
Holly Lenahan it does look fun- he’s come so far
You are so fun to watch! So positive, always smiling. And your dad too - just makes me smile along! Nicely done Dali!! (Ha, lashing rain...it’s pouring rain in the US.). 🤣
So excited for this!!!
Just wanted to say that I’ve never heard the term “lashing” rain 😂 we usually just say “pouring” rain
We do love our sayings here in Ireland xD
Lashing rain is when it's raining so hard that it's seriously unpleasant. Like being lashed (hit) with rain.
I think in old books too you get "lashings of gravy" or pudding or sausages
I love your Irish terms like mega and lashing😜💙
He’s got such a lovely active canter 🥰
Fantastic job, both of you. Dali was ace, despite the weather. Am very tempted to start a drinking game with your complaints about the rain in videos, Holly, but you still did brilliantly, despite it almost being a swimming competition rather than show jumping
Thank you! Haha I think I deserve a few complaints, that weather was miserable 😂
I absolutely love your channel Holly 💖
I love your horses
Your dad is so funny, in America we say pouring rain! Lashing sounds way cooler!
love this! :) omg holly likes this!! 💗
The best part is the chickens I swear they're so funny theyre just there walking around 😂
Omg he’s so stinkin cute at the 90cm jumping so carefully! 🤣 reminded me of a rocking horse or a deer
Wow! Nice improvement Holly!
England
When we need it to rain - WOW, LOOK, BEAUTIFUL DAY TODAY INNIT?
When we need it to be sunny - LE SKY WILL CRY.
He was mega!!!!
Amazing, amazing,AMAZING! Such a good boy to jump in that weather! 😍😍

Of course it’s raining here 😂 hopefully we’ll get another heat wave soon enough... here in Galway it’s been that kinda icky rainy weather

Yaaaayy
Lashing rain is not just an Irish thing. I'm from Liverpool and when we have heavy rain we say, 'it's lashing down'.
My horse is a daughter of Tangelo van de zuuthoeve! She jumps beautifully and she has a lot of scope❤️Good luck❤️
I was there that same day and I was soooo wet after 😭atleast in mullingar the ground was not hard
Omg i have never been this early!!!

Did you and Lauren coordinate on the stallions?! :)
Haha a happy coincidence! Although we discussed many stallions leading up to it ☺️
do dali and khal ever fight over the mares?
Nope
Do u know when jack is back
Not for the foreseeable future. There’s no official end date to his loan ☺️
Could you do more voice overs?
Sure :)
What places did you get?
It’s a schooling show, there’s no placings

who else wants to own a horse?!
i make vlogs too :)
as if the horse is jumping a little forward
Dali improves each time more. But you have to teach him the flying changes so you don't lose your rythm. Very well done👍👍👍
Löni A. It takes a while for young horses to catch on flying changes. He was very good for his age he got the majority of them x
Thank you! But he’s not strong enough yet to teach him flying changes. They’re quite a difficult thing to master and I find a lot of people teach them a bit too early and then horses tend to rush them as they find them stressful :)
Do you translate Turkish in the next video
Your going to need a bigger truck if ur horses get any bigger 😂😂
I know right 😂 poor Dali has to squeeze in
Your mad for cash this weather
