Lindelof and Yahya made me genuinely care about Manhattan like I never did before, and even managed to break my heart. He’s truly a great pick for the role.
Probably why they didnt always have his eyes glowing. THey wanted us to feel the emotions from Manhattan, to see his human eyes. I think he was Cal for so long that he still felt his humanity as he was "dying", so they wanted to keep some human connection still, hence the eyes. Otherwise I REALLY wish they wouldve kept his eyes glowing with the black shade around them.

Yahya comes across as not fake, down to earth dude. Also glad unlike a lot of actors cast in comic book properties admitted he wasn't a fan.
yeah most of them do the fake research they parodied on Entourage with the fake Aquaman movie. it's very weird.
Love his explanation though: "I was in debate club, I was in chess club... comics were a little too nerdy for me" XD
And unlike Jake Gyllenhaal who couldn't even feign respect for the medium, Yahya seems actually open to it.

One my favorite actors working today. Loving the choices of people coming on the show. Coy is just a wealth of knowledge lol. Watchman show was amazing.

I've seen almost all of these, and I've never seen anyone so eager to learn about comics than Yahya. I hope this guy's career goes far. He's fantastic.
Yes, a Master's from Yale in acting is impressive, but in all honesty, his Bachelor's from Berkeley in architecture is waaaaaay more impressive from an intellectual rigor standpoint, not to mention the all-nighters required of an architecture student (often 2-3 per week) are borderline criminal.

Hoping Wan utilizes him better in AQUAMAN 2 cause he was great in Black Mirror & WATCHMEN as Dr. Manhattan. Would love to see him in the MCU as well as say Kang the Conqueror, Dr. Doom, or Blue Marvel.

He was great in Black Mirror too, and I can't wait to see what he does in the Matrix 4. I normally don't like using cliche lines like this, but this guy is one to watch.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but...I really loved Yahya's portrayal of Cadillac in The Get Down. It is a shame Netflix cancelled the second season as they were in the process of making it.

Every one of Coy's pulls from that week's comics were great! Frankly that whole stack he gave him was a real solid selection. Marauders has been the best Dawn of X book (with XForce & New Mutants being tied for 2nd)

I would also have pointed him to Promethea, which feels almost more Moore-ish as it's a completely original property. Or Tom Strong , or his brilliant run on SUPREME.

I would have given him moebius or James stoke for architectural stuff. Then maybe Manhattan projects by Hickman cause it’s so smart and strange...
