- Shaka came back fresh from yard, and there was talk of fresh dubplates out of King Tubby`s studio, but this one Disciples dub caught the crowd and Shaka ripped it up with vibes..."...we would like to hear the choir !!!...."..... later on in the dance those exclusive Tubbys mixed plates span, Willie Williams - Unification / One By One, and Icho Candy - Slavery / Love Rastafari amongst them.
No one hold a vibe like Shaka
Great great recording !
PEOPLE MOST PEOPLE WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO COMPREHEND WHAT JAH SHAKA WAS ABLE TO ACHIEVE WHEN MOST SOUND SYSTEM WENT AFTER THE BABYLON MUSICAL STYLE JAH SHAKA NEVER DEVIATE FROM THE ROOTS OF AFRIKON BLOOD STYLE OF LIBERATION .......IN 1987 .......THANK YOU JAH SHAKA
Amen to all this. Any chance your the same Fasimbas from Shaka dubplate fame?

This why the other big sound systems had the edge over shaka because they moved on when a new style of music came along and this because when shaka decided to stick with the roots dub music when he played the dance only had about 20 people in the dance but when he started playing at the rocket where alot of white and indian students started going to the rocket all of a sudden shakas dances started to full back up but back in the day without playing fatman or the greatest sound system to ever grace the dance hall coxsone no 1 shaka could not full up the dance halls but it would of been a wonder if he could of moved on to what someone called babylon music but when you look into it deeper jah shaka played alot of babylon music that wasnt real jamaican music it was formular music what i would call punky formular dub muzic but dont get mr wrong shaka was one of the special big 3 sounds around town alongside the greats like coxsone and fatman hifi which played differently from eachother rest in peace to a sound system icon o
The baddest dub ever seen Discipes Band Jah know.

Thinking back this WAS the best Shaka dance i ever went to in my 30 years of being a Shaka-ite :)
This is the best sound-system recording on youtube. The choir at the end gives me goose bumps every time. Many thanks!
Sends shivers down my spine hearing this. I was in the crowd singing my heart out with the rest of the choir! :-P Still got this dance on TDK - I thought this was at Ashwin Street but it was 30 years back lol
If you remember, shaka's phrase was "I play Dis 1 ina year 2000 style!! 80' 90's still on page. Some are 1away tune! Only
