Teaching kids must be so hard, but in the same time it looks like it hones your teaching technique!!! Another really well done video!!

Always build techniques upon valid principles/foundations, kihon in Japanese Martial Arts, and being a "block head" clearly sticks in the 🧠.

would be awesome to see more discussion of downblocking as well as some specific drills we could use to warm up

I feel like I've been missing this basic concept, even after 2 years of inconsistent bjj training. Thanks for the great video as always coach.

I would say it is a stance - with the understanding that you move in particular ways to defend and attack. Much like in boxing you typically approach your opponent in a bladed stance, guard up and establishing your jab. And you have variants that describe your particular stance and base defense like a "philly shell".

Love these concept videos! Keep them going ... Started with Bjj and have a rugby background. Tackles are my strength so i need to learn more about wrestling. Like the more offensive style

It's interesting you have a rugby background, a point I am interested is what's the technical differences between a tackle in rugby and a double leg in grappling?

As an ex-competitive boxer I had NO IDEA the head was such a huge target in wrestling. Worse than boxing maybe ..... at least we have gloves over our hitting appendages!

Really, if you said "pretend you are a deer, or a goat" would that make sense? Would that be what you're getting at? (...without the concussive smashing)
