I am not a CA nor an expert.,But i think that on the death of a shareholder,the nominee in the demat account only will get the shares transferred in his or her name by way of transmission of shares. No tax outgo and nominal cost only.Same for mutual funds.
I amnot sure if succseeion certificate will work here as all demat accounts must have a nominee.
Repeat,i am justt a housewife with no expert knowledge.

Sir, wrt transfer of shares, if there is a nominee for the said account, the shares can be transferred to the nominee's account but getting a succession certificate is a foolproof method as all movable and immovable property goes into HUF catagory if there is no will made, opening a de-mat account with the same provider can sweeten the deal & make matters easier, I went through the same episode when my Papa passed away in "20! To make matters worse all his holdings were locked with Karvy & later transferred to iifl! So opened mom's account with iifl & got the shares transferred in her name!!!

Because there is an issue with succession plan for bandhan bank. Bank CEO is looking for Succession plan and market is taking this thing as negative because it's taking too much time.

Sir, its a curse to be salaried employee in India and to pay 35% taxes. In India there are so many welfare schemes are going on like "free transport via bus, Rs 1500 monthly assistance to each family, PM kisan, free ration etc".. there is no hope here. Also FM will announce very negligible tax relief like peanuts.

Banks are all about managing good quality high yield assets, in form of loans and advances, hence the book value, P/B and return on assets (RoA) are more accurate parameters.

If nominee is not registered, then transmission of shares will be done on basis of Legal Heir / Succession certificate.

Writing from Argentina - As beautiful as the country is, the economics is even more interesting. The population saves in USD & so you have the blue (unofficial) dollar rate & the official rate for currency exchange. And the exchange rate varies by denomination of dollar bill 😂. $100 bill gets 1300peso/usd anything else 1100 peso/usd. Almost 20% gap. And official rate is 900peso/usd. So a 30-40% gap in purchasing power depending on the denomination.
My question is - What do you think of companies held by PE promoters or large PE stakes ? Is it an automatic avoid ? Or are there criteria in which you could consider them? Given that the fund is going to sell stake eventually.
P.S. you should come to Patagonia (Argentina) it’s more beautiful than Switzerland or Alaska & I’ve been to both . God bless & keep up the great work ❤️

Regarding the matter where son wants his late father's shares and mutual fund to be transferred to his mother, if his father had made his mother nominee then there will be no need for succession certificate unless ofcourse it is challenged. Certain documents like death certificate etc will ofcourse required for name change

Have you heard about Hindenburg Research revealed that Kotak Mahindra Bank, a prominent private sector lender and brokerage firm in India, played a crucial role in the offshore fund structure used to short Adani stocks.
Get a legal heir certificate. Then all legal heirs can jointly request/apply to broker holding/running the demat account to transfer the shares to your mother's demat account. Very simple process if all LH agree.
