On January 29, 2025, we conducted the second snow breaking operation to exterminate stray potatoes.
The snow that piled up the other day amounted to about 20 cm. We split the snow in order to freeze the soil and the potatoes left to be dug. Since there was extremely little snow this year, we did it less often than usual, and this is the second time we have done it. Using a Morikyu Tekko V-blade already installed on a Kubota M7, the snow is removed from side to side. The weather was fine and we were able to work comfortably. We would like to do thorough snow-clearing work so that not a single stray potato will grow in the summer.
We are farmers in Hokkaido, Japan.
We cultivate 50 ha.
We grow sugar beets, potatoes, wheat, and soybeans.
