Runaway Brain would’ve been released, had Disney and audiences not complained about it being too scary. It really makes me mad when companies try to get rid of underrated gems.
I have the Fun and Fancy Free DVD, which was how they distributed Mickey and the Beanstalk initially here in Australia. It's a classic copy too, from when the rating system here in Australia was a bit different and the rating wasn't in a brightly coloured box and was instead blended into the artwork of the cover
I've grown up with Prince and the Pauper. It wasn't until I fought Julius in Kingdom Hearts Dreamdrop Distance that I even knew the Runaway short existed. I thought he was a giant frankenpete
I myself have that version of The Prince and I'm Pauper thanks to a Disney Christmas Favourites DVD I found a while back... because GOOD LUCK finding it here in Australia today. Outside eBay and randomly stumbling on one at a second-hand store, chances of finding either of these Disney shorts in ANY format is pretty much impossible, even more so since Disney cancelled all physical media releases here in Australia over a year ago
The Prince and the Pauper isn’t forgotten since it was in Mickey Mania, Disney+, and the Prince & the Pauper costumes are in the queue of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway as part of the Mickey throughout the ears exhibit
The voice acting, the animation, the character models, runaway brain was Mickey Mouse at his finest If only we got a theatrical film with such quality, actually now that I think about it, isn’t it weird how Mickey Mouse (the star of all things Disney) never got a feature length theatrical film of his own?
Yeah, Goofy got his with ‘A Goofy Movie’, Donald sort of got his own movie with ‘The Three Caballeros’, so Mickey is long overdue. Hopefully with the upcoming hand drawn Looney Tunes film coming to cinemas next year, Mickey will follow suit soon.
I remember this movie and it's on Disney plus. But this is one of my favorite movies with Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. But you won't see Minnie and Daisy in this movie. Actually this person also didn't mention Fun and Fancy Free.
DAE think the King’s last words sound like something Walt Disney would’ve said before he died? I know he’s Henry XII in the cartoon, but the real Mickey took on a similar leadership role in the cartoon world, so I always make the connection.
It should be on Disc 2, alongside ‘Mickey’s Christmas Carol’ and ‘Prince and the Pauper’. The first disc focuses more on the classic shorts ranging from ‘Society Dog Show’ to ‘The Simple Things’. Hope this helps.
7:00 I saw ‘Once Upon A Studio’ just before this video went live. It’s amazing!

They deserve to be on Disney Plus

I watched the prince and the pauper once, but I do have the Disney book that supposedly has both the movies and shorts at the time.
Super awesome video. I really enjoyed it!
I never view the prince and the pauper as a short but a tv special
I love runaway brain
i thought runaway brain was known by everyone!
If only it wasn’t for a certain company burying the short for being “too scary.”
Cool
Please could you tell me how to find mickey mouse's brain, on volume 2 (uk version) As i can't find it on there..thank you.
